Students, School Reject ACLU's Ungodly Demand

Hundreds of students at Ridgewood Middle School in West Shreveport, Louisiana protested the removal of "In God We Trust" from the main sign at the school because of a complaint from the ACLU.  Immediately, Caddo Parish School District Superintendent Dr. Theodis Lamar Goree sided with the students and so the principal had the national motto back in place within hours.
“I’m so thrilled because that is such a victory for our students. They wanted to take a stand and they did and we’re so thrilled to death that their voice was heard loud and clear.“

From "'In God We Trust' put back on school marquee" by Jeff Ferrell, KSLA-TV12 (Shreveport, LA) 4/24/15

The controversy began last month, with a dispute at another Caddo Parish middle school. A citizen had filed a complaint with the American Civil Liberties Union, the ACLU, about principal Albert Hardison at Walnut Hill Middle School.

That complaint alleged the use of prayer in school communications by Mr. Hardison, prompting the removal of all references to God or religion of any kind from every school and web site related to the Caddo Parish School District.

And it was that action that led to the phrase, "In God We Trust," being taken down in March at Ridgewood's marquee out in front of the school.

Pastor and parent Joey Ketchum had been enlisted for help and support on the marquee issue by 40 or so members of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) at Ridgewood. He helped out with organizing the [protest] T-shirt giveaway at the school.

. . . the [ACLU] letter, dated March 30, [said that Walnut Hill Elementary principal Albert Hardison] “has engaged in a pattern of religious proselytization by sending messages to parents invoking prayer, and through a lengthy ‘Principal’s Message’ on the school’s website,” which the ACLU noted is in violation of the First Amendment and U.S. Constitution. . . . The correspondence urged the principal to stop, for the district to look into the situation, and to “immediately remove all religious references from the website of Walnut Hills and any other schools in the Caddo Parish school district.”

That, apparently, is when Ridgewood removed “In God We Trust” from its marquee — even though the phrase has been ruled as constitutional in many court cases . . .

Almost No Americans Want a 'Homosexual Marriage'

While the media propaganda drumbeat tries to convince you that every OTHER American favors "gay marriage," a new Gallup survey finds that only a fraction of one percent of the population wants to live in a homosexual relationship, and even fewer have any interest to engage in a same-sex "marriage."

Only God knows how this entire nation could be turned upside down over the same-sex marriage question currently before the U.S. Supreme Court.

Poll Shows Americans NOT For 'Gay Marriage' or Anal Sex

'Gay Marriage' Not Favored in Polls, Only in Court

-- From "Gallup poll finds more gay marriages, domestic partnerships than thought" by Michael Muskal, Los Angeles Times 4/24/15

According to the latest Gallup poll, about 0.3% of adults in the United States are married to a same-sex spouse and an additional 0.5% identify as being in a same-sex domestic partnership.

That works out to about 390,000 same-sex married couples in the United States and about 600,000 domestic partnership couples -- for a total of 990,000 couples, or about 2 million adults.

Gallup's estimate is larger than the U.S. Census Bureau's American Community Survey, which in 2013 put the total number of same-sex couples at roughly 727,000. Of this group, more than 250,000 reported they were married.

Separately, analyses by the CDC in the 2013 National Health Interview Survey put the number of same-sex couples at 690,000, of whom about 130,000 were married by the end of the year.

From "Gallup Estimate: Less Than 1% of Total U.S. Adult Population Are Part of a Same-Sex Couple" by Michael Morris, CNSNews.com 4/28/15

Gallup’s survey also has statistics for “All others.” “All others” account for the estimated 241,000,000 U.S. adults (99.2%) that are not either married with a same-sex spouse or unmarried and living with a same-sex domestic partner.

“At 990,000, Gallup’s estimated number of same-sex married or domestic partner couples in the U.S. is significantly higher than past estimates derived from the U.S. Census Bureau’s American Community Survey (ACS), which in 2013 put the number of same-sex couples at roughly 727,000,” says Gallup. “Of this group, more than 250,000 reported that they were married. The Census Bureau, however, has cautioned that the ACS estimates of married same-sex couples may not be completely reliable as they have determined that a large portion of recorded married same-sex couples may actually be married heterosexual couples who miscoded the sex of one of the spouses."

From "An Estimated 780,000 Americans in Same-Sex Marriages" by Gary J. Gates and Frank Newport, Gallup 4/24/15

These data are based on 80,568 interviews conducted on Gallup Daily tracking from Jan. 28-April 19, 2015. Overall, approximately 0.3% of all respondents during this time period both identified as lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender (LGBT) and said they were married, and in a follow-up question, they indicated that they were married to a same-sex spouse. An additional 0.5% of adults identified as LGBT and reported being in a same-sex domestic partnership.

The main question before the Supreme Court on Tuesday is whether same-sex couples have a constitutional right to marry. If the court decides the answer is yes when it issues its ruling (likely in June), this means marriage for same-sex couples would become legal in all U.S. states. If the answer is no, it is possible many states that now allow same-sex couples to marry could reinstitute bans. What reinstating bans on same-sex marriage might mean for currently married same-sex couples is not entirely clear.

A second question before the court is whether the 13 states that do not allow same-sex couples to marry must recognize the marriages of same-sex couples who live in those states but were legally married elsewhere. The Gallup data show that approximately 16% of adults who say they are married to a same-sex spouse, or more than 60,000 couples, live in one of the 13 states that do not legally permit same-sex couples to marry.

Note:  Not a single state has "banned gay marriage!"  Rather, a majority of states have passed laws or added amendments to state constitutions defining marriage as between one man and one woman — which are NOT bans on anything.

Court Ruling Favors Christians over Gay Agenda: KY

Years after the mayor of Lexington, Kentucky was critical of a Christian printer, and the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Human Rights Commission ruled the business pay damages, yesterday the Fayette Circuit Court ruled otherwise saying that Blaine Adamson and his company, Hands on Originals (HOO), have a constitutional right to refuse to print "gay pride" T-shirts that violate Christian beliefs.
“[HOO owners] are Christians who believe that the Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God and that they should strive to live consistently with its teachings.  It is clear beyond dispute that HOO and its owners declined to print the t-shirts in question because of the MESSAGE advocating sexual activity outside of a marriage between one man and one woman. . . . The well established Constitutional rights of HOO and its owners on this issue is well settled.”

[Judge] Ishmael made a distinction between a company choosing not to print a T-shirt because of the sexual orientation of a potential customer and choosing not to print a T-shirt because of its message.

The court noted that HOO had also turned down orders for “a strip club, pens promoting a sexually explicit video, and shirts containing a violence related message” — in other words, shirts that it did not agree with that had nothing to do with homosexuality.

The court also found that HOO was “entitled to assert claims” under a Kentucky statute that’s been compared to Indiana’s controversial Religious Freedom Restoration Act. “Government shall not substantially burden a person’s freedom of religion,” the statute reads.

“What this court found in this case is that no one should be forced to promote ideas—or in this case, print ideas—that conflict with their beliefs,” said Jim Campbell, an attorney for Alliance Defending Freedom representing the printing business. “That protection is for everyone. It’s a protection that’s for the atheist just as much as it’s for the person of faith.”

Christian Fundraising Nixed by Homosexualists

Recently, Christians discovered a new means to fight the Gay Agenda, but once again homosexualists have exploited political correctness to battle back:

Now that activist judges have stripped voters of their right to uphold marriage, the populace has decided to vote with their pocketbooks by funding Christians who publicly stand for Christ.  In response, the homosexualists have intimidated GoFundMe into shutting down such Christian donation campaigns.

A supporter of [Christian bakers] Aaron and Melissa Klein set up the [GoFundMe] campaign to help raise money for the couple after an administrative law judge for the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries [BOLI] issued a proposed order recommending they pay $135,000 in damages to a lesbian couple from Portland.

The BOLI judge said the Kleins illegally discriminated against Rachel and Laurel Bowman-Cryer when they refused the women's attempt to order a wedding cake, instead citing their Christian beliefs against same-sex marriage.

It wasn't clear Friday what specifically led to the apparent shelving of the GoFundMe fundraiser. But in response to a query by The Oregonian/OregonLive, the San Diego-based company provided this email reply:

After careful review by our team, we have found the "Support Sweet Cakes By Melissa" campaign to be in violation of our Terms and Conditions and have removed this campaign. The money raised thus far will still be made available for withdrawal.

Lisa Watson, of Cupcake Jones, started her own campaign to contact GoFundMe and report the campaign as being in violation of their terms of service. Watson’s own post on Facebook stated, “this business has been found GUILTY OF DISCRIMINATION and is being allowed to fundraise to pay their penalty. The gofundme terms of service address hate speech, bigotry, criminal activity, and sexism among other things in their campaign…The amount of money they have raised in a matter of a few hours by thousands of anonymous cowards is disgusting.”

Late on Friday GoFundMe stopped the Sweet Cakes campaign. Via GoFundMe: "After careful review by our team, we have found the "Support Sweet Cakes By Melissa" campaign to be in violation of our Terms and Conditions. The money raised thus far will still be made available for withdrawal. While a different campaign was recently permitted for a pizzeria in Indiana, no laws were violated and the campaign remained live. However, the subjects of the "Support Sweet Cakes By Melissa" campaign have been formally charged by local authorities and found to be in violation of Oregon state law concerning discriminatory acts. Accordingly, the campaign has been disabled."

“The campaign entitled “Sweet Cakes by Melissa” involves formal charges,” a [GoFundMme] company spokeswoman said in a statement. “As such, our team has determined that it was in violation of GoFundMe’s Terms & Conditions.”

But the spokeswoman did not respond to a follow-up question about another fundraising campaign involving Jeremy Meeks, the California man dubbed the “Hot Convict” whose mugshot went viral last year. The apparent double-standard was pointed out by a number of Twitter users. That campaign, set up by Meeks’ mother, has raised over $6,000.

Meeks was arrested in June 2014 on felony weapons charges and sentenced to two years in prison in February.

The GoFundMe campaign quickly picked up steam, raising more than $100,000 in just a few hours before it was shut down.

Aaron Klein said reporters came to his home and his shop, the couple's business car was vandalized and broken into twice, and photographers and florists severed ties with the company, eventually forcing Sweet Cakes to close its Gresham storefront shop in September 2013. The business now operates out of the couple's home in Sandy.

Samaritan's Purse, founded by Franklin Graham, eldest son of the Rev. Billy Graham . . . is raising funds to help the Kleins pay their fine and meet other expenses. "They have taken a stand for the Word of God, and they should not have to stand alone," Samaritan's Purse President Franklin Graham said. [Franklin] Graham urged prayers for Aaron and Melissa, and the nation. "When our judges are punishing Christians for practicing what they believe, that's persecution, plain and simple."

"It's very discouraging. This is not money coming from a business, this is not money coming from an insurance fund, this is money coming straight from our bank account," Klein said in a radio interview with the Family Research Council. "This is money that should be used to pay my mortgage, money that should be used to feed our kids, not something that should be given to others," Klein added. "This is a decision I made because of my faith, and now the government is now saying it doesn't matter, your kids can suffer for it as well."

"What happened today is an egregious assault on the freedom Americans have to peaceably live their lives according to their beliefs," FRC President Tony Perkins said in a statement. "An Oregon judge made clear in no uncertain terms to the Kleins and all Oregonians that the state has the right to demand that citizens engage in activities that violate their beliefs and if they refuse, they will lose their ability to make a living. In a free country, this is a ruling that cannot and must not stand," Perkins added.

Iowa School Censors Pro-life Girl's Rights: Lawyer

When Hampton-Dumont High School senior Isabell Akers wanted to start a Students for Life (SLA) club, administrators objected because it would be too controversial.  That was before Akers enlisted the assistance of the Thomas More Society, which promptly accused the school of violating the Equal Access Act regarding school clubs as well as Akers' First Amendment rights.
"I wanted to spend my high school career educating my fellow students on the beauty of human life and providing resources to girls at my school, but instead I have been fighting for my First Amendment rights."

-- From "Iowa High School Accused Of Suppressing Pro-Life Group" by Blake Neff, Contributor, Daily Caller 4/17/15

In February 2013, the [recent Thomas More Society] letter says, Akers’ attempt to form a club was rebuffed on the grounds it would be too “controversial.” The following August, Akers tried again, and after sending a follow-up inquiry every two weeks for several months she was finally allowed to create a “community club,” which was allowed to use a school meeting space but wasn’t allowed to advertise or host events like an ordinary student club.

In 2015, the letter says, Akers made another push to be recognized, arguing that a Students for Life group was legally entitled to be treated as a student club just like any other.

The letter also says that school officials tried to claim the Students for Life group would be the first non-curricular club at the school, but SLA counters that this claim doesn’t stand up to scrutiny.

The new letter comes just one week after SLA lodged against the public school system in Fargo, N.D. There, two high schools were accused of blocking the formation of anti-abortion clubs. Fargo Public Schools has claimed the clubs were actually stalled due to a lack of proper paperwork, although they had never cited such an alleged lack of paperwork before.

From "Anti-abortion student group accuses school of discrimination" by Mackenzie Ryan, Des Moines Register 4/16/15

The Students for Life of America's law firm sent a letter Thursday to the school, about 100 miles north of Des Moines, on behalf of high school senior Isabell Akers and the nation's largest youth anti-abortion group.

[the letter] cites the First Amendment and the Federal Equal Access Act, which says schools that allow one noncurricular group cannot deny comparable groups because of "religious, political, philosophical, or other content of the speech at (the group's) meetings."

Hampton-Dumont Superintendent Todd Lettow said the district has sought legal counsel, and takes matters like this "very seriously."

In February of 2014, posters that the group created were confiscated because, they were told, only official clubs were permitted to advertise in the hallways. The club also was not included in the yearbook.

From "Hampton-Dumont may face discrimination lawsuit" by Ashley Miller, Mason City Globe Gazette 4/20/15

“The school may not pick and choose among clubs based on its particular preferences for what the overall content of the group’s proposed speech should be,” [Thomas More Society associate counsel Jocelyn] Floyd wrote in the demand letter. “Your denial of Isabell’s request to form and operate a pro-life group on equal footing with these other non-curricular clubs constitutes a clear violation of the EAA (Equal Access Act).”

Letters from the law firm are typically successful in settling issues [such as this with other schools] outside a court setting, Floyd said. A response from Hampton-Dumont is due April 30.

Akers said she wants the club to be officially recognized so it can better spread the word about the effects of abortion and empower women in her high school and community. She'd also like to see it continue after she graduates.

Members of [SLA], which has no religious ties, include high school, college, medical and law students.

From "School clubs OK unless they're pro-life" by Bob Unruh, World Net Daily 4/16/15

“The pro-life students are simply asking for equal treatment,” said Jocelyn Floyd, associate counsel of Thomas More Society. “Here the school is trying to claim that its lesser treatment is justified because Isabell’s club doesn’t tie in with the school’s curriculum – but neither do most of the school’s other clubs, such as the book club, mock trial or SADD (Students Against Drunk Driving).”

“The classification of Isabell’s club as a ‘community club’ or the school’s only ‘non-curricular’ club, and the associated limitations on her group’s right to participate in the life of the school as an official student group constitutes a violation of her rights under both the Federal Equal Access Act … and the First Amendment,” the [Thomas More Society] letter said.

“Simply put, once the limited open forum is open to one non-curricular club, then all non-curricular clubs must be treated equally, even if the clubs [students] wish to form are religious or political. A student group is considered curricular only if it directly relates to the curriculum of the school.”

The letter said that while Key Club “presents an admirable message of the value of community service, Mock Trial gives exposure and instruction on the American trial system, and SADD works to spread the message of the harms of drinking and driving, they are all nonetheless non-curricular clubs.”

Reproductive health does includes abortion, but unsafe abortions account for only 13 percent of all global maternal deaths, according to a 2010 report from the University of Essex. The report also found that:
Globally, around 80 percent of maternal deaths are due to obstetric complications; mainly haemorrhage, sepsis, unsafe abortion, pre-eclampsia and eclampsia, and prolonged or obstructed labour […] Almost all cases of maternal mortality are preventable. An estimated 74 percent of maternal deaths could be averted if all women had access to the interventions for preventing or treating pregnancy and birth complications, in particular emergency obstetric care.

Sex Assault in Obama's Military Mostly Homosexual

While mainstream media focus on sexual assault of women in the military, President Obama's new secretary of defense Ashton Carter is pointing out that most victims are military men — commonly of anal sex assault and/or forced oral sex, according to a recent study.

By definition, male-on-male anal/oral sex is homosexual behavior.

From "Experts: Males Also Are Victims of Sexual Assault" by Jim Garamone, DoD News, Defense Media Activity 2/20/15

Experts urged Army leaders to reach out to male victims of sexual assault, noting people should not view sexual violence as a crime perpetrated exclusively against women.

Jim Hopper, a psychologist and researcher, and Russell Strand, a retired Criminal Investigative Service special agent, spoke about an aspect of sexual violence not often discussed: sexual assaults on men.

So about 87 percent of men attacked are not reporting it and “these are real men in real pain,” Hopper said. The pain is compounded by shame. Being sexually assaulted brings additional feelings of shame to a man because it works against the ideal of what it means to be a man, he said.

They are also afraid of their friends or teammates finding out what happened to them, he said. They believe they will be looked at as less than a man, that they will be ostracized and shunned. And, many victims see the assault as the death-knell to their careers.

From "Federal watchdog: DOD slow in addressing sexual assault of men" by Wyatt Olson, Stars and Stripes 3/19/15

Although the Department of Defense has taken numerous steps to address sexual assaults of servicemembers in general, it still doesn’t have a clear plan for responding specifically to attacks on men, the Government Accountability Office said in a report released Thursday.

. . . A Rand Corp. survey last year estimated 9,000 to 13,000 active-duty men were sexually assaulted during the year prior to the survey. About 2,500 to 5,500 of those were described as “penetrative” sexual assaults.

The DOD has implemented a “gender-neutral” program for preventing and responding to the problem of sexual assault, an approach that does not take into consideration the significantly lower rates of reporting assault by men compared with women.

The difference in reporting “suggest that male victims of sexual assault may not have a similar level of confidence as do female victims in the process of reporting a sexual assault within the department,” the GAO said.

"We're not intimidated by it," said Klawiter on Tuesday. "I think it's childish behavior. I think for a community of people that want to display tolerance, I don't think that's the right way to do it."

In an interview, Klawiter said, "I feel anti-gay is what lead every to all of this hate. And make no mistake, this is no back-pedal.

"What this is, is a Christian business owner standing on principles. Nothing has changed from my original statement. I still won't tolerate certain behavior in my shop. And that's never going to change."

Klawiter said he feels he should be able to run his automotive diesel engine repair shop how he'd like to, and that includes running it under his religious beliefs.

"No, I'm not going to inquire into every secret, personal sin of all my customers. The Lord knows I have many of my own sins, and that he has forgiven me much," owner Brian Klawiter wrote on a new post on Dieseltec's Facebook page.

"What I meant by my original statement, was that I am drawing a line in the sand: where someone is engaging in overt displays of homosexual behavior, I don't have to tolerate it in my place of business, just like I don't have to tolerate overt displays of immoral heterosexual behavior in my shop (hypothetically speaking)."

"I mentioned it in my post because I am tired of the constant media drumbeat in favor of it. For my own sake, the level of reaction certainly has been unpleasant. No one likes gay porn, death threats, and vile speech directed their way. But for the country, it is hopefully an eye-opener. This is the 'tolerance' of a homosexual community on display, and it will only get worse as they feel emboldened."

"So while I won't allow any immoral behavior in my shop, I have clarified my previous statement: sinners - homosexual or heterosexual - are welcome in my shop, but if I can see by their behavior on my premises what their personal shortcoming is, I reserve the right to point it out to them (in a loving way, of course) and point them to the One who can take them and change them into who they were designed by Him to be."

[In an interview with a TV reporter,] Klawiter also played a [phone] message that he says is one of many threats he has received against his life.

“You will be killed,” the voice on the message said before the call ended.

Klawiter says he feels that some of those who say his views are intolerant have shown that they won’t show tolerance for his beliefs and convictions.

“I would love to sit down and have coffee with anyone and discuss the Gospel and what I believe and I would also lend an ear to their opinion. But I certainly wouldn’t vandalize their shop or attempt to put them out of business just because they had a viewpoint,” Klawiter said. “I think that’s the most ridiculous of this whole situation.”

[After ignoring the issue for months,] City Clerk Mary Meines said the city sent Dieseltec another notice last week, after Klawiter posted to the business' Facebook page that he would not serve openly gay customers. The latest notice gave the business until May 15 to get a city license, she said.

Brian Klawiter, owner of the auto shop, submitted forms Monday, April 20, to come into compliance with local licensing rules. Following a pre-printed statement on the application form about agreeing to conduct business in compliance with city ordinances, Klawiter added this handwritten addendum:
"With the exception of Sec. 12-14 due to its wording. An inspection of my business can be achieved with a warrant in accordance with constitutional law."
The ordinance section states that the city has "authority to enter (licensed businesses), with or without search warrant, at all reasonable times."

Lesbian Seminar Teaching Kids How to be Homosexual

Pam Strong, a lesbian elementary school teacher, just completed a workshop to train public school teachers regarding encouraging children to accept homosexual relationships using the “power of conversation.”
“With [the principal’s] encouragement, we decided that I would go from class to class and talk about what ‘gay’ means . . . I started in kindergarten. What a great place to start.”

And when these conversations are properly supported by teachers within the safety of the classroom, they provide a rich environment for our students as they unpack these complex social issues and they reflect on their own preconceptions, rights, of gender, sexuality, love, all these difference things,” [Pam Strong] said.

“I use current events, news articles, advertisement are great for gender, especially with kindergarten kids, pink and girl toys and all the rest of it. Commercials are great, I use one right now, the Honey Maid commercial,” she said.

She said she convinces children that homosexual duos are identical to a man-and-woman couple, LifeSite reported.

The conference, hosted by the homosexual activist organization Jer’s Vision, now called the Canadian Centre for Gender and Sexual Diversity, focused on the implementation of Bill 13 in Ontario classrooms. Bill 13, called by critics the ‘homosexual bill of rights,’ passed in June 2012 and gave students the right to form pro-gay clubs in their school, including Catholic ones, using the name Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA).

Strong related an incident that happened last fall involving a new boy who had recently entered her grade 5 classroom. The new boy had not yet been made aware of Strong’s sexual preference for other women. . . . The new boy put his hands over his mouth and said, according to Strong: “Oh, my God, I think I’m going to puke.”

Strong told her workshop attendees that her “new little friend” is now a devoted champion of diversity. . . .

Strong called it “key” to develop a “positive classroom culture” — and she mentioned it often takes months — before getting into what she called “difficult conversations” with students about convincing students of the normality of her sexual preference for women.

. . . she convinces the kids that a gay-partnership is identical to a family made up of a male and female. Strong called it a “fantastic lesson for kids of all ages.”

Kindergartners Taught Sex Change in Maine School

Parents of Horace Mitchell Primary School in Kittery, Maine were shocked to learn that their children were given the lesson of a sexually confused toddler encouraged by his parents to pretend to be a girl and to ask "the good fairy to change his genitalia."  Superintendent of Schools Allyn Hutton said it's a necessary lesson: "The whole culture at Mitchell School is about teaching tolerance and respect."
“When our students and their parents have questions related to LGBTQ issues, our goal is to foster healthy dialog [sic], critical thinking and inclusiveness. With that in mind, our conversations include all students and perspectives to create a safe and supportive school climate.”

During a lesson on tolerance and acceptance implemented by the guidance department, the book “I Am Jazz” by Jessica Herthel and Jazz Jennings was read to 20 of 22 classes in the Grades K-3 school. The story is about a young child “with a boy’s body but a girl’s brain,” who goes through a childhood struggle of identifying with her true self until she and her family speak with a new doctor and come to understand the child is transgender.

[Supt.] Hutton said educating students about transgender people is important because there are students within the district who identify as such.

Hutton said a majority of parents expressed support of the lesson, while others would have rather had notification beforehand.

Jazz says her parents Greg and Jeanette decided to seek advice when she asked “Mummy, when’s the good fairy going to come with her magic wand and change, you know, my genitalia?”

By the age of five she was diagnosed with Gender Identity Disorder, or Gender Dysphoria, and started making the transition to living life as a female.

She started taking blockers that prevented the growth of body hair and with oestrogen therapy her body started to grow breasts during puberty.

Jazz will have to wait until she is 18 to have gender reassignment surgery.

Doctors: Abortion Causes Breast Cancer—Media Silent

As liberal media continue to tout abortion industry claims to the contrary, the American College of Pediatricians is repeating its conclusive warning of the causal link of abortion to breast cancer, especially for adolescents. A 2013 study by Dr. Rebecca Johnson, Seattle Children’s Hospital cancer specialist, demonstrates “an increasing risk of breast cancer with each subsequent abortion,” but finds no evidence of increased breast cancer risk from miscarriage.

The [pediatricians group's] press release claims that "the medical community has been reluctant to acknowledge the link, induced abortion prior to a full term delivery, and prior to 32 weeks of gestation, increases the likelihood that a woman will develop breast cancer."

A study led by Dr. Johnson and her colleagues and published in Feb 2013 shows that incidence of metastatic breast cancer in young women aged 25 to 39 years has been increased in the U.S., according to the release.  Studies in China, India and Romania show that abortion is associated with risk of breast cancer in a “dose” responsive manner.

In the United States, about one third of pregnancies are terminated or aborted.

From "Know Your ABCs: The Abortion Breast Cancer Link" Press Release by The American College of Pediatricians 4/7/15

In February 2013, Dr. Johnson and her colleagues made national news when they reported an increased incidence of metastatic breast cancer in young women in the U.S. aged 25 – 39 years.  Other epidemiological studies from China, India, and Romania demonstrate an increasing incidence of breast cancer as abortions increased – with a “dose effect” showing an increasing risk of breast cancer with each subsequent abortion. President Den Trumbull states, “When one considers the normal anatomy and physiology of the breast it becomes clear that this link is causal not merely correlational.”

The College looks to the day when the lives and health of all children from conception to natural death will be respected and protected. In the mean time, the College urges all health care providers to educate women on the risks associated with induced abortion, including the increased risk of breast cancer.

From "Abortion and the Risk of Breast Cancer: Information for the Adolescent Woman and Her Parents" by American College of Pediatricians – December 2013

Induced abortion (IA) prior to 32 weeks gestation appears to increase a woman’s risk of developing breast cancer. This association is largely ignored by the mainstream medical community, not included in sex education programs, and even disputed by some. For example, the Guttmacher Institute claims, “Exhaustive reviews by panels convened by the U.S. and British governments have concluded that there is no association between abortion and breast cancer. There is also no indication that abortion is a risk factor for other cancers.” However, as documented by the Breast Cancer Prevention Institute, the vast majority of studies (57 of 73 worldwide) do show a strong association between IA and an increased risk of breast cancer. This discrepancy exists for many reasons, including bias in the selection of articles chosen for “exhaustive review,” as well as flaws in methodology (e.g. including spontaneous abortions along with IAs) of some studies that discount the association. As with any medical treatment or recommendation, a lack of 100 percent certainty and the need for constant re-evaluation is not a legitimate rationale for withholding potentially life-threatening information concerning an elective procedure.

From "Abortion and Breast Cancer: The Stubborn Link Returns" by Joel Brind, National Review 3/10/15

Prominent abortion practitioner and promoter David Grimes bemoans that bumper stickers still warn that abortion increases the risk of breast cancer, even though, he asserts, that “theory . . . was debunked long ago.” So begins Grimes’s recent piece on the Huffington Post’s blog Healthy Living. “Long ago” was, though Grimes doesn’t say so, 1997 to 2008, when there flowed a stream of “debunking” publications — largely studies that were methodologically flawed — reporting that no abortion–breast cancer (ABC) link existed. They were effective in fading the ABC link from public consciousness. But now the ABC link has returned, stubbornly, provoking renewed efforts to debunk it.

Being real, the ABC link is showing up, conspicuously, as millions of women worldwide who have had abortions over the past several decades are coming down with breast cancer at alarmingly increased rates. Dozens of papers are being published that show the trend. Grimes does not acknowledge the recent studies, however, relying rather on the discredited arguments of “long ago” — and some clever sleight of hand — in his shoddy attempt to disprove the link.

. . . Contrary to Grimes’s claim that the ABC link was long ago “debunked,” the epidemiological evidence has grown tremendously stronger. The inference of a causal association between abortion and breast cancer has become all the more compelling, with our advancing knowledge of the hormonal changes during pregnancy and of how such changes during interrupted pregnancies dovetail with the susceptibility of cells in the breast to become cancerous.

But Grimes makes mention of no data from this century at all, only of data from “long ago.”

With over a billion women in China and India alone, a very conservative prediction would be that in the coming decades, millions there will die of breast cancer that can be attributed to abortion. No wonder Grimes is not interested in the recent data: It’s devastating to his “safe abortion” agenda.

From "The breast cancer epidemic: 10 facts" by A. Patrick Schneider II, Christine M. Zainer, Christopher Kevin Kubat, Nancy K. Mullen and Amberly K. Windisch, published in The Linacre Quarterly 81 (3) 2014, 244–277

Affecting one in eight U.S. women, breast cancer is a modern American epidemic. This review contains 10 facts that summarize the emerging epidemiology of this tragic development. . . . The incidence of breast cancer has risen dramatically during the last four decades. Moreover, a growing international acceptance of Western style sexual and reproductive practices has been associated with an increase in worldwide breast cancer rates. A number of breast cancer risk factors that are potentially preventable are now established. An early epidemiological insight was that a delay (or avoidance) of childbearing raises the risk of breast cancer. Similarly, a reduced duration (or avoidance) of breastfeeding, is a loss of a natural breast cancer preventive. A greater understanding of the cancer-protective physiological mechanisms that occur during the first full-term pregnancy (FFTP) has resulted in an enhanced understanding of the breast cancer “susceptibility window” that occurs between puberty and the FFTP.

. . . Many reports from the United States and other Western countries have also linked induced abortion (IA) to breast cancer (the abortion–breast cancer (ABC) link). Recently, there has been a surge in the number of reports from multiple, non-Western nations, associating abortion with breast cancer. Consequently, there is now sufficient evidence to conclude that IA is causally linked to breast cancer.

There is also evidence of a compounding of breast cancer risk factors in girls and young women. Recent epidemiological research found a large increase in this malignancy in young women that is metastatic (to bone, brain, and lungs) at the time of diagnosis. This ominous development has “no recommended screening practice” and a dismal prognosis. This sobering trend mandates the need for disclosure of breast cancer risk factors. A medical, legal, and ethical duty for full and accurate informed consent exists for all females. This is especially imperative for a girl (with her parent or guardian), or a young woman, who is considering the choice of an oral contraceptive (OC), including so-called “emergency contraception (EC),” IA (or both) during her “susceptibility window.”

Celebrate Islam Day Canceled at Ohio School

Administrators at Mason High School in suburban Cincinnati, Ohio collaborated with the Muslim Student Association to create The Covered Girl Challenge — a day when all girls would wear a hijab like Muslim women.  However when the school's announcement was publicized, parents and other taxpayers educated the school on the First Amendment, causing Principal Mindy McCarty-Stewart to cancel the event.
“I do not recall ever getting an email announcing a Christian Cross Wearing day or a booth for information about the Christian persecution from Islamic terrorists. What happen to the argument of the separation of church and state? My belief is wearing these hijabs represents the oppression of women and Sharia law.”

"The Covered Girl Challenge" at Mason High School was intended to combat stereotypes students may face when wearing head coverings.

But Principal Mindy McCarty-Stewart says the school received numerous strong messages as word of the event spread, forcing her to reconsider the event's ability to meet its goals. She says the event sponsored by a Muslim student group should not have been promoted by the school's Student Activities Department.

The event is held on college campuses and other high schools.

On Thursday, jihadwatch.org posted a story headlined, “Victory! Mason High school principal cancels hijab event, apologizes.”

Yasmeen Allen is an Iraqi native with two teenagers at Mason High. Allen's daughter wears a hijab to mosque worship but not to school, Allen said, adding that the family is "really upset that the school is succumbing to outside pressure of racism and bigotry toward people who are different from them."

Muslim students "were robbed of an opportunity" to support their religion and counter some of the negativity it faces around the world, she said.

This is not the first Muslim-themed controversy to hit the Mason school community. About a decade ago, former school board candidate Sharon Poe and then-board member Jennifer Miller publicly blasted school officials for allowing Muslim students to have a separate lunch hour for fasting during Ramadan, which occurs during the ninth month of the Muslim calendar.

That is a holiday practice still continued at Mason schools. The area, however, is open to any student, regardless of faith, Carson said.
