Wednesday's terrorist attack on FRC by a homosexualist armed with a handgun, 50 rounds of ammunition, and 15 Chick-fil-A sandwiches, wherein the unarmed building engineer (not a security guard, as earlier reported) was shot, demonstrates the ferocious anger against any Christian who dares speak the Word of God.

. . . the accused shooter, Floyd Lee Corkins II, was ordered held without bond on accusations he opened fire a day earlier inside the lobby of the [FRC] council's headquarters. Corkins, whose parents said he strongly supported gay rights, had a backpack full of Chick-fil-A sandwiches and a box of ammunition when he said words to the effect of "I don't like your politics" and shot a security guard, authorities said.

The guard was shot in the left arm but managed to help subdue the gunman, police said. It wasn't immediately clear why Corkins, 28, had the chicken sandwiches.

The Family Research Council has steadfastly supported the president of Chick-Fil-A and his staunch opposition to same-sex marriage, a stance that has placed the fast-food chain at the center of a hot-button national cultural debate.

While blaming Corkins for the shooting, Perkins also faulted the Southern Poverty Law Center, an Alabama-based civil rights organization that tracks and litigates against hate groups. The law center labeled the council a hate group in 2010 for what it called the organization's anti-gay stance.

[FRC president Tony] Perkins said at a news conference that the gunman was "given a license to shoot an unarmed man by organizations like the Southern Poverty Law Center.”

The Alabama organization [SPLC] said the council intended to degrade the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community by fighting against same-sex marriage, anti-bullying programs and the repeal of the military’s policy that had barred openly gay servicemembers.

Family Research Council president Tony Perkins on Thursday said the shooting at the conservative Christian organization’s Washington, D.C., headquarters was an act of terrorism and he accused the Southern Poverty Law Center of fostering the climate that allowed the crime to occur.

“Terrorism is designed to intimidate and to drive people back and make them feel fearful. Well, that I believe would describe what they tried to do here yesterday at the Family Research Council and by extension to traditional value supporters, Christians across the nation,” Perkins said. “But I want to tell you it’s not going to work. We’re not going anywhere. We’re more committed today than we were yesterday to defending and advancing faith, family and freedom here in our nation’s capital.”

The FRC head noted that while he holds Corkins solely responsible for the shooting, he believes the Southern Poverty Law Center must also be held accountable for its “reckless” labeling of the FRC as a hate group.

The SPLC has posted what it calls a "Hate Map" on its website that points to the FRC as a "hate" group located in Washington, D.C..

The map and SPLC listing of "hate organizations" equates groups such as the Family Research Council, which promotes the traditional Christian view of marriage and sexuality, with racist groups that violate Christian teaching on human dignity.

At a press conference on Thursday outside the FRC headquarters in downtown Washington, FRC President Perkins said, “I want to express my appreciation to the groups and organizations that we do not agree with on many public policy issues who have also expressed their outrage at what took place here yesterday. For that, I appreciate it. I appreciate them making those statements.”

“But I would ask them to go a step further and to join us in calling for an end to the reckless rhetoric that I believe led to yesterday’s incident that took place right behind me,” he said.

Planned Parenthood's Oral Sex Push Bad: Fed Report

For years, Planned Parenthood has been encouraging children to engage in oral sex as a means of avoiding pregnancy and to reduce disease risks. However, a new Federal CDC study showing that STDs flourish via oral sex, fortunately also shows a reduction of sexual activity, both vaginal and oral, among teenagers and young adults between 2002 and 2010, thus demonstrating, again, that pre-Obama abstinence education programs were effective.

In 2010, half of new sexually transmitted infections occurred in people ages 15 to 24. Oral sex can transmit chlamydia, genital herpes, gonorrhea and syphilis, according to the report.

The National Center for Health Statistics, a division of the Centers for Disease Control [CDC] and Prevention, released data today that revealed an overall decrease in oral sex among adolescents between 2002 and 2010, reflecting a similar small decline in vaginal intercourse within the same age group.

Experts said two-thirds of all youth between the ages of 15 and 24 had had an experience with oral sex, risky behavior that the federal government said is contributing to the spread of sexually transmitted diseases.

Some data suggest that many adolescents engage in oral sex because they believe it is safer and preserves their virginity, according to a CDC 2009 fact sheet.

"In our culture, there was a time when the president suggested that oral sex wasn't sex, and that is still with us, to some degree," said Geoffrey Michaelson, a Vienna, Va., psychologist who specializes in sexuality.

"From my point of view, any exchange of body fluid, touching, fondling or arousal, that is sex," he said.

The data speak to changing social mores and the need to educate teens about the risk of contracting a sexually transmitted disease from oral sex, experts say.

There's no such thing as totally "safe sex," [says Craig Roberts, an epidemiologist at the University of Wisconsin-Madison's University Health Services department and a member of the American College Health Association]. . . he notes that people who perform or receive oral sex are still at risk for other sexually transmitted diseases such as herpes, gonorrhea and chlamydia.

Other research suggests that more young people are deferring all types of sexual activity later than their parents and grandparents did.

“Research suggests that adolescents perceive fewer health- related risks for oral sex compared with vaginal intercourse,” wrote the authors, led by Casey Copen in the division of vital statistics for the Atlanta-based CDC. “However, young people, particularly those who have oral sex before their first vaginal intercourse, may still be placing themselves at risk of STIs or HIV before they are ever at risk of pregnancy.”

The percentage of teenagers who have had vaginal sex dropped from 51 percent in 1988 to 43 percent in the period from 2006 to 2010, the report said. Condom use increased, according to the report, though the rate of sexually transmitted diseases remained about the same.

Over all, 49 percent of boys and 48 percent of girls ages 15 to 19 have engaged in oral sex, according to the data. Among the younger teenagers in the survey, the ones ages 15 to 17, those numbers drop to 38 percent for boys and 33 percent for girls.

“There’s been a perception for many years that there’s some kind of epidemic of oral sex among teens,” said Leslie Kantor, vice president for education of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America, who was not involved in the study. “If nothing else, this data provides a realistic sense of the numbers.”

Rates of oral sex among teenagers have been dropping over the past 10 years, as they have been for intercourse too, according to the C.D.C. In 2002, about 55 percent of 15- to 19-year-olds reported having engaged in oral sex. Between 2006 and 2010, that number dropped to 48 percent for boys and 46 percent for girls.

The survey included only opposite-sex interactions.

While history shows that Romney's positions on abortion, homosexuality, and Christianity are anything but clear, Ryan rarely speaks to these issues, and his campaign websites are mute as well. Yes, it's a fact that Ryan's voting record is scored as 100% pro-life, and also demonstrates support for traditional marriage, but he voted FOR the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA), the cornerstone of the Gay Agenda.

The Obama campaign is painting Ryan as an extreme social conservative, yet the Romney campaign remains silent. Why?

. . . Paul Ryan has not spoken about his position on gay rights. But the Log Cabin Republicans, one of just two conservative gay rights groups in the country, has pointed to him as a model for how to reach gay voters. . . . [Ryan's] 2007 vote in favor of the Employment Nondiscrimination Act (ENDA) a law that would make it illegal for employers to discriminate based on sexual orientation.

Back in the 1990s, Romney supported ENDA as well. In a letter to the Log Cabin Republicans he pledged to co-sponsor the legislation at the federal level, but in 2006, he said he had reversed his position on the bill.

The Log Cabin Republicans have not yet endorsed Romney for president. Many gay Republicans have wavered in their support for Romney, partly because he signed a pledge opposing same sex marriage. But Ryan's vote for ENDA has made some of them more excited about the presumptive Republican presidential nominee.

Ryan's congressional office directed questions about ENDA to Romney's campaign, and Romney's campaign did not respond to multiple requests for comment.

Despite those positions, Mr. Ryan, who was picked over the weekend to be Mitt Romney’s vice-presidential running mate, has said he wants to focus on the nation’s looming debt crisis, not on social issues, in the coming campaign.

Democrats, hoping to win a large majority of female voters in November, assailed Mr. Ryan’s record on abortion rights and women’s health on Sunday.

Like most Republicans, Mr. Ryan has strenuously opposed the new health care law championed by President Obama. He has criticized Mr. Obama’s efforts to guarantee free insurance coverage of contraceptives for women, including those employed by Roman Catholic hospitals, universities and social service agencies.

Willow Springs Water Park . . . in the heart of the Bible Belt is ending the $5-per-person discount it had been offering on its entrance fee to church groups after [Leifel Jackson] the head of a secular charity that caters to inner-city youths requested the same deal for its kids.

The park, which hosts Bible camps throughout the summer and has long catered to church groups, charges $15 for adults, $10 for children under 15 years of age, and $9-a-head for groups over 15 people. The park knocks $6 off admission for firefighters, law enforcement and members of the military.

The Freedom from Religion Foundation, a national non-profit dedicated to the separation of church-and-state, got wind of what had happened, and a lawyer from the group fired off a letter to [Willow Springs Owner David] Ratliff, informing him that he'd better not reinstitute the discount for church groups in the future, or on a 'covert' basis.

Every time we have a church group we have people who are very well behaved, they expect the most of each other, they are supervised, organized, and it's less expensive to bring them."

While Ratliff is a Christian man himself, he said his discount for churches isn't meant to exclude other charity groups, but it's a business decision.

"I'm not trying to punish anybody or judge anybody," he said. "I'm just trying to run a business and finish up my year.

According to John DiPippa, Distinguished Professor of Law and Public Policy at the UALR Bowen School of Law, there's no clear cut answer to the question of is this discrimination under to the Civil Rights Act.

A family-owned restaurant in Pennsylvania is under a state discrimination investigation for offering a ten percent discount for diners who present a church bulletin on Sundays.

The Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission confirmed there is an investigation against Prudhomme’s Lost Cajun Kitchen in the town of Columbia. The complaint was filed by [local atheist] John Wolff, a retired electrical engineer.

Sharon Prudhomme, who owns the restaurant along with her husband, said she’s not discriminating against anybody – and plans on fighting the charges.

Prudhomme said the trouble started in April of 2011 when she received the first of several letters from the Freedom From Religion Foundation. The FFRF is a Wisconsin-based organization of “more than 17,000 freethinkers, atheists, agnostics and skeptics,” according to its website.

In response to the complaint, Lost Cajun received the support from many across the country and in their neighborhood. This included several offers from lawyers to do pro bono work for the restaurant as they respond to the filed complaint.

Since Wolff filed the complaint, Lost Cajun and its lawyers working pro bono have submitted a response. The restaurant is awaiting the next step in the process.

The night before Susan and Rob allowed their son to go to preschool in a dress, they sent an e-mail to parents of his classmates. Alex, they wrote, “has been gender-fluid for as long as we can remember, and at the moment he is equally passionate about and identified with soccer players and princesses, superheroes and ballerinas (not to mention lava and unicorns, dinosaurs and glitter rainbows).”

When Alex was 4, he pronounced himself “a boy and a girl,” but in the two years since, he has been fairly clear that he is simply a boy who sometimes likes to dress and play in conventionally feminine ways. Some days at home he wears dresses, paints his fingernails and plays with dolls; other days, he roughhouses, rams his toys together or pretends to be Spider-Man. Even his movements ricochet between parodies of gender: on days he puts on a dress, he is graceful, almost dancerlike, and his sentences rise in pitch at the end. On days he opts for only “boy” wear, he heads off with a little swagger. Of course, had Alex been a girl who sometimes dressed or played in boyish ways, no e-mail to parents would have been necessary; no one would raise an eyebrow at a girl who likes throwing a football or wearing a Spider-Man T-shirt.

. . . This [gender-fluid] worldview was hammered home again and again by Padawer, who wrote [in the NY Times article]: “But the parents of the boys in the middle space argue that gender is a spectrum rather than two opposing categories, neither of which any real man or woman precisely fits.”

. . . Padawer also gave a shout-out to doctors who claimed “gender nonconformity” was normal, writing: “Clinicians who oppose traditional treatments contend that significant gender nonconformity is akin to left-handness [sic]: unusual but not unnatural.”

The author, so hell-bent on tolerance, could perhaps have entertained the idea of quoting experts who might object to boys wearing girl’s clothing. But the one thing the proponents of radical redefinitions of gender cannot tolerate is a view contrary to their own.

Homosexualists Use Children to Battle Christianity

As is obvious, normalization of homosexuality is impossible without legitimization of "gay families" -- that is, homosexual couples (soon to encompass polyamory as well) with children -- thus, the emphasis on children of "gay families" in the media.

Were it not for The Church, every perversion would be glorified in man's eyes. The effect of Christians on society is obvious; compare the secular European nations to (thus far) Christian America. Case in point: Former lesbian, now born again Christian, Lisa Miller and daughter.

From "Mennonite missionary testifies in Vermont custody case" by Wilson Ring, Associated Press 8/9/12

A Mennonite missionary in Nicaragua testified Thursday that he helped a woman embroiled in a Vermont custody dispute with her former lesbian partner flee the U.S. with her child . . .

Timothy Miller said in videotaped testimony that he knew Lisa Miller was fleeing the U.S. because of the custody battle but he believed at the time that she had full custody of her daughter Isabella. He said he picked the mother and child up when they arrived in Managua and arranged a place for them to live in Nicaragua.

Mennonite pastor Kenneth Miller is on trial on a federal charge of aiding in international kidnapping.

Prosecutors say Kenneth Miller helped Lisa Miller and Isabella, then 7, flee the country to avoid sharing custody with Janet Jenkins of Fair Haven. Timothy Miller was originally charged in the case, but the charges were dropped in exchange for his cooperation. The three Millers are not related.

Some 50 members of an Amish-Mennonite sect filled half the federal district courtroom here Wednesday, arriving from several states to support Kenneth L. Miller, a pastor accused of abetting international parental kidnapping in a case involving same-sex marriage, conservative Christianity and a bitter custody battle.

The prosecutors, in their opening statement and in the first day of testimony, described a flurry of actions by Mr. Miller to help Ms. Miller flee and get shelter from his sect’s missionaries in Nicaragua. They also described a pattern of deceit that, they said, revealed Mr. Miller’s awareness that Ms. Miller was seeking to avoid court-ordered visits and the imminent transfer of primary custody to Ms. Jenkins by a family court judge in Vermont.

Mr. Miller told others that Nicaragua was the chosen destination because it does not have an extradition treaty with the United States, said Eugenia Cowles, an assistant United States attorney.

Federal officials believe that Ms. Miller and Isabella, now 10, are hiding in Nicaragua, helped by Christian supporters.

Kenneth Miller is charged with aiding international parental kidnapping, which can carry a maximum imprisonment of three years.

However, Kenneth Miller's lawyer, Joshua Autry, responded by saying he would prove that the pastor believed Lisa Miller had full custody of Isabella when she fled to Nicaragua via Canada. Addressing the jury, Autry added that their decision was not going to be a referendum for or against civil unions in the state. "It's going to be about whether, at the time of the removal, Janet Jenkins had parental rights."

Wednesday's ruling also denied Hawaii Family Forum's motion to dismiss Abercrombie as defendant. The group argued Abercrombie has no place on either side of the lawsuit, partly because he is not the state official in charge of issuing marriage licenses. Abercrombie signed Hawaii's civil union legislation into law last year, allowing same-sex and opposite-sex couples to enter into a civil union with the same state rights and responsibilities as traditional marriage.

"If gays come in and want to order birthday cakes or any cakes for any occasion, graduations, or whatever, I have no prejudice against that whatsoever," Phillips said. "It's just the wedding cake, not the people, not their lifestyle."

"We would close down that bakery before we closed our beliefs, so that may be what it comes to ... we'll see," Phillips said.

In a report released Tuesday, the Pew Research Center said 65 percent of Democrats now say they support gay marriage, compared with 40 percent eight years ago. Liberal Democrats were especially pro-gay marriage, with 83 percent supporting such nuptials, said the report, which polled nearly 3,000 adults a few weeks ago.

In comparison, 51 percent of political independents support gay marriage, while only 24 percent of Republicans support such marriages.

In an email to supporters, the DNC is leading a petition drive asking folks to sign their names saying they approve of the gay-marriage plank.

“Add your name today and say you’re with Democrats as we fight for the right of every American to marry the person they love,” Rep. Barney Frank, a member of the drafting committee and an openly gay member of Congress from Massachusetts, said in the email.

The Rev. William Owens, Jr., head of the "Mandate for Marriage" initiative and son of the Rev. William Owens, Sr., the founder and president of the Coalition of African-American Pastors (CAAP), told The Christian Post about the growing importance of the issue at an event on Tuesday.

"It's only going to increase because the very core of America is founded upon Judeo-Christian beliefs. That's debatable to some people but you can't do away with history," said Owens, Jr.

"When you begin to take on those core values you begin to take on what's the core for America. So when more and more begin to realize what is getting ready to happen, it's going to have to become an issue if we want to save our country."

Quincy, IL Prays for Rain, as Dem Governor Asked

Even as liberals file lawsuits to stop prayer at civic gatherings across the nation, Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn, a Catholic Democrat and advocate for same-sex "marriage," recently asked for prayers for rain. In response, residents of the western Illinois town of Quincy gathered Sunday evening to pray in Jesus' name for an end to the drought.

The faithful in western Illinois are heeding Gov. Pat Quinn's request to pray for rain as the state suffers drought conditions.

Quincy-area residents gathered Sunday evening for a "Pray for Rain" event. The Quincy Herald-Whig reports that several religious organizations participated in the half-hour prayer service in a local park. The Rev. Patrick Smith of St. John's Anglican Parish said it was an opportunity to "collectively ask God to do something that he can do."

Sunday evening, dozens of Quincy area churches merged at Madison Park for a city-wide prayer service. A number of pastors took to the stage for prayer as musicians from the Crossing performed the worship.

"What makes this different is that there's people from all churches here. It's not just one church individually praying but all the Christian churches in the area are meeting to pray," Neal Woollard with the Crossing in Quincy said.

"We thought it would be much more effective and that God would be very pleased that we came together as a community and put our hearts and thoughts and our minds together and pray that the Lord would open up the heavens for us and give us that blessing," Father Patrick Smith with St. John's Anglican Parish in Quincy said.

Some attendees lifted their arms, swaying to Neal Woollard and Joe Fross of The Crossing's heartfelt, acoustic renditions of religious songs. Many also sang along to the hymns, "It is Well," "You Never Let Go" and "Our God." Those who didn't already know the words could glance at lyrics provided on programs given out at the event.

Between prayers, agricultural specialist Sara Fernandez gave some background on why many residents feel the area's drought is becoming grim enough to warrant organized religious intervention.

Mark Geissler, the program manager for Horizons Social Services, led the last prayer of the evening.

"He does nothing without working for the good of those that love [H]im," Geissler said. "I promise you, something good will come from this."
