Most Terrorists are White Christians, Colleges Say

More educators are teaching American students that the greater risk to the public is white Christian terrorists rather than Muslim terrorists.
“Ninety percent are from these white Caucasian men. . . . Usually they are people who are religiously motivated and politically conservative. . . . Just a few months ago, a white, I think he was Christian, I thought he was Christian because there was something about, you know, ‘the state claimed against God’s law and stuff’ . . .”

-- From "VIDEO: College students taught most U.S. terrorists ‘conservative’ white men" by Jennifer Kabbany, Editor, The College Fix 1/11/16

Two students in the class who provided the video of the lecture to The College Fix last week asked to remain anonymous. They said they waited to release it until their grades were secured, and also out of respect for the mourning period at UC Merced after Mohammad’s stabbing spree.

[Dr. Ross Avilla] essentially argued many Americans wrongly believe Muslims make up the vast majority of U.S. terrorists because they have not thought long and hard on the matter.

The scholar made the statements to his class of about 250 students, mostly freshmen.

“They are students who are impressionable,” one of the students who provided the video told The College Fix, adding “I wanted to learn about psychology. I didn’t want to hear biased politics.”

From "Prof DEBUNKS study claiming right-wing extremists in U.S. more deadly than Islamic terrorists" by Michael McGrady, CU Colorado Springs, posted at The College Fix 1/18/16

A widely touted study claiming right-wing extremism is more deadly than Islamic terrorism in the United States has been debunked by a history professor who shows that, in actuality, there have been 62 Americans killed by Islamic terrorists in the U.S. for every one American killed by right-wing extremists.

Professor Andrew Holt of Florida State College at Jacksonville recently published his analysis that discredits the widespread sentiment that right-wing attackers are the deadliest domestic terrorists in the U.S.

Holt’s analysis points out numerous flaws in the highly cited study released in 2015 by New America Foundation, which claimed 48 deaths in the U.S. were due to “far right wing attacks” while only counting 45 deaths due to “violent jihadist attacks.”

The study’s findings were not only touted by many major news outlets across the nation as proof that fears over radical Islamic terror in the U.S. are overblown, but the findings are also used today in some college classrooms as an example of Islamophobia.

But, Holt points out the foundation’s findings are based on flawed data sets.

From "Right Wing Extremism vs. Islamic Extremism in the United States: A Look at the Numbers" by Andrew Holt, Ph.D. 1/11/16

The now oft repeated claim that right wing extremism is more dangerous to Americans than Islamic extremism is based on total deaths and excludes casualties. Moreover, such accounts limit themselves to attacks in the United States (not worldwide), and purposefully exclude the nearly 3,000 deaths (as well as the over 6,000 survivors treated at hospitals) that took place on September 11, 2001. They don’t count the 9/11 deaths as then the numbers would be extraordinarily lopsided (in terms of total U.S. deaths due to Islamic extremism vs right wing extremism) and so such claims are careful to be based only on deaths in the United States AFTER the events of 9/11.

Indeed, if you include the death totals from 9/11 in such a calculation, then there have been around 62 people killed in the United States by Islamic extremists for every one American killed by a right wing terrorist (a 62 to 1 ratio if you divide the slightly over 3000 deaths due to Islamic extremism by the 48 deaths attributed to right wing extremism).

. . . recognize the disproportionately high number of attacks by Islamic extremists in the United States, who, even after excluding the victims of 9/11, are still responsible for around 50% of the total number of deaths due to extremism, even though Muslims only account for around 1% of the total U.S. population.

Parents' Lawyer Halts Wisc. School Gay Sneak Attack

Wisconsin liberals are fuming that officials of Mount Horeb Area School District in a small, remote suburb of the liberal-bastion of Madison have caved to so-called homophobic parents who appealed for help from Christian lawyers to stop their elementary school from suddenly launching a transgender indoctrination program on their first-grade children.

-- From "Mount Horeb Schools Cancel Book Reading After Threat of Lawsuit" by Dylan Brogan, WORT-FM89.9 (Madison, WI) 11/24/15

On Monday, students at the Mount Horeb Primary Center were scheduled to hear a reading and discussion of “I Am Jazz,” a book about a transgender child.

But the discussion was cancelled after a Christian legal advocacy group threatened the district with a federal lawsuit. The Liberty Council has been listed as a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center [SPLC] for advocating “anti-LGBT discrimination under the guise of religious liberty.”

In a statement from the Mount Horeb Area School District, Director of Student Services Theresa Daane says the school is providing additional time for parents to review the material.

From "School Plans On Reading Transgender Book, Receives Lawsuit Threat From Parents" by Jean Marie Abellana, iSchoolGuide.com 11/28/15

Earlier this week, a Dane County school became considerate to transgender-related concerns on school activities when it disseminated information to the students' parents notifying about the planned reading and discussion of "I Am Jazz," a children's book that talks about a transgender girl.

The note [to parents] read that the school stood firm on its position where all of its students deserved to be respected and supported regardless of gender expression and identity; hence, it is, therefore, right for them [students] to be educated about the issue of being transgender. It further noted that while the school respects every family's convictions and beliefs, they encouraged the parents to bring out any concerns about their child's participation in the activity.

While there were others who became amenable to the activity, some "concerned parents" have reached out to the Liberty Counsel, a Florida-based group that considered itself as a "non-profit litigation, education, and policy organization," threatening a lawsuit should the school pursue the book reading activity. The parents claimed that such activity was a "violation of parental rights."

. . . The note [to parents], signed by the principal, school psychologist and a counselor, said that the school was working with a student that identifies as a girl but has male anatomy.

Theresa Daane, director of student services for the Mount Horeb Area School District, provided an initial statement on Tuesday after the reading was cancelled, acknowledging "the need for parents to be given the opportunity to consider and discuss information we provide to their children. Accordingly, we intend to balance these needs and allow parents additional time to review the materials we intend to present to students."

Late Wednesday afternoon, the district issued a press release with updated details. It noted that it had "chosen not to proceed as originally planned and allow the Board of Education the opportunity to review the needs of all involved, and address a situation for which the District has no current policy.

From "Re: Inappropriate discussion of gender confusion and sexuality with primary school students" letter to Mount Horeb school district from Liberty Counsel 11/20/15

Dear Board President Seidl:

. . . I write on behalf of concerned parents regarding the attached “Dear Parent” letter that was sent November 19, 2015, to parents of primary school students within the Mount Horeb Area School District (“MHASD” or “the District”).

The letter notifies parents that Principal Rachel Johnson, School Psychologist Nicole Tepe, and School Counselor Emily McKee plan to subject Primary School students to a discussion of gender confusion and sexuality, under the guise of “anti-bullying,” “diversity,” and building a “safe and nurturing environment,” by means of reading to First Graders this coming Monday, November 23, “transgender” activist book “I AM JAZZ”. The letter was sent with one business days’ notice and appears designed to catch parents off-guard, to prevent them from opting their children out of this reading and subsequent discussion.

I hereby request the cancellation of this Monday’s planned reading and discussion, to prevent parental rights violations.

. . . as you may know, “Jazz” Jennings is a male child “transgender” activist, who has been permitted to undergo harmful gender reassignment drug therapy and hormone blockers, resulting in permanent physical changes to his body. The book is a false and misleading book, and the subsequent teaching and discussion will result in [harm to students] . . .

There is no credible medical authority establishing the proposition that biological sex can be changed, or that “mind over matter” is controlling, in areas of identity. The former Chief Psychiatrist for Johns Hopkins Hospital, Dr. Paul McHugh, wrote in a June 12, 2014 Wall Street Journal op-ed that "policy makers and the media are doing no favors either to the public or the transgendered" by not treating transgender "confusions ... as a mental disorder that deserves understanding, treatment and prevention." While students suffering from gender confusion should be treated with kindness and respect, schools should not by their policies or practices attempt to coerce other students and teachers into participating into what amounts to a harmful delusion.

In light of this authority, the District’s letter contains a number of false claims and assumptions to support its course of action. Among these, the letter states that the District is committed to supporting students from a “wide range of...genders” when there are but two genders, male and female. . . .

Among the letter’s false analogies and claims are the following: 1) children are arbitrarily “assigned” a gender at birth, as if the presence of male or female genitalia as the basis for “male” and “female” is an arbitrary decision imposed upon a person; 2) that simply because a child is “born male” but “insists” that child is a girl makes it so; 3) that because a girl likes short hair and likes a “boy” name, she is now a boy; and among the most egregious, 4) that it is possible to have a “girl brain and a boy body.” This claim is completely at odds with the rationale for equality between the sexes: there is no difference between male and female brains or mental abilities, and thus this idea fosters gender stereotypes.

At a minimum, the District’s “plan to support this student in living as ‘her’ authentic self” subjects students to propaganda having no basis in science or reality, to present gender confusion as “normal.” For the record, a mandatory requirement that other students call a boy “her” and “she” infringes upon the other students’ rights to tell the truth, in accordance with their religious convictions, and reality.

Finally, the letter leaves parents to wonder what exactly else is entailed within the “several steps” of the District’s “plan.” Typically, such plans allow gender-confused students to live “authentically” by entering and using the restrooms of the opposite sex. Is it now the policy of the District that the subjective feelings of a child who wishes or thinks he is the opposite sex trumps objective biological and anatomical reality? Is it now district policy that parents and students must accept the unproven belief that “gender identity” is more objectively “real” and more important than is objective biological and anatomical reality?

. . . Boys should leave a bathroom if a girl enters, and girls should leave a bathroom if a boy enters. Boys and girls should not be compelled to use facilities intended for private acts in the presence of those of the opposite sex. Boys have no right to use girls’ restrooms, and girls have no right to use boys’ restrooms. No one has a moral right to compel others to participate in a fiction (including compelling teachers and others to use pronouns that do not correspond to objective biological sex).

The District must cancel this event, and the District must set forth its “plan” so that parents are not subjected to additional surprises like the November 23 propaganda session. The District is not free to override parental rights and religious beliefs, by subjecting impressionable children to confusion about something as important as gender and sexuality. . . .

The Culture War is Over! Liberals Declare Victory

As American public opinion shifts to the right, the liberal media has launched its latest battle tactic in the Culture War: Announce loudly that the Democrats have won the war!  Such propaganda could be effective because the Republicans are pretending that there is no Culture War, withdrawing from the conflict.

For background, read how Republican Party platforms now support abortion and "gay marriage," and read about GOP leaders who shun moral values to win elections.  This is the GOP Strategy: Dump Old Uneducated Christian Voters

-- From "Democrats Put Cultural Issues in Their Quiver" by Jonathan Martin, New York Times 9/15/14

After a generation of campaigns in which Republicans exploited wedge issues to win close elections, Democrats are now on the offensive in the culture wars.

Democrats see social issues as potent for the same reasons Republicans once did, using them as a tool to both stoke concerns among moderate voters, especially women, and motivate their base.

. . . there is little indication so far that the Democrats’ push on social issues is motivating cultural conservatives to respond.

Some Republicans believe that the Democrats’ reliance on cultural issues in politically moderate states underlines the structural challenges that Republicans face with voters.

An electorate reshaped by a growing presence of liberal millennials, minorities, and a secular, unmarried and educated white voting bloc will most likely force Republicans to recalibrate.

To read the entire article above, CLICK HERE.

From "Why Democrats Are So Confident" by Ronald Brownstein, posted at National Journal 7/2/14

While Republicans took the offense on most cultural arguments through the late 20th century, now Democrats from Obama on down are mostly pressing these issues, confident that they represent an expanding majority of public opinion.

Beyond contraception and immigration, the parties are escalating their conflicts over a broad suite of issues that divide the electorate along cultural lines, including gun control, gay rights, abortion, and climate change (which politically pivots on trust in science). Combined, these confrontations are stamping the GOP as what I've called a "Coalition of Restoration" primarily representing older, white, religiously devout, and nonurban voters who fear that hurtling change is undermining traditional American values. Democrats in turn are championing a younger, more urbanized, diverse, and secular "Coalition of Transformation" that welcomes the evolution in America's racial composition and cultural mores.

Reversing their frequent ambivalence after the 1960s, Democrats are now following their president [Obama] into an unswerving embrace of cultural and demographic change. That shift reverberates through Obama's defiant recent pledges to act unilaterally if necessary to ensure equal workplace treatment of gays, protect undocumented immigrants, confront climate change, and overcome the Hobby Lobby decision allowing religious-based private companies to exclude contraception from their health insurance plans.

From "Morning Plum: Are Dems now winning the culture wars?" by Greg Sargent, Washington Post 9/16/14

In multiple Senate races, Democrats are hammering Republican candidates over contraception and “Personhood,” a development that many observers interpret as a sign that Dems are now the ones on offense in the culture wars.

A new ad blitz from Karl Rove’s Crossroads GPS nicely captures the emerging dynamic. Colorado GOP Senate candidate Cory Gardner has been treated to the most direct and sustained assault over Personhood of any GOP candidate, and a new Crossroads ad appears designed to defend Gardner against it with an appeal to female voters.

Yet the ad does this only by changing the subject. . . . The ad never mentions Personhood or contraception. Instead, it obliquely refers to Dem attacks as “political scare tactics,” even as the featured women declare they want “a real conversation about issues that matter,” such as the economy. But, as Rebecca Berg writes, this ad actually “underscores the challenge Republicans have faced this year appealing to women voters.”

From "Oral Contraceptive Republicans" by George Neumayr, The American Spectator 9/10/14

The Left’s relentless “war on women” campaign is producing some odd results, one of which is the emergence of Republicans who champion over-the-counter contraceptives. . . .

It is a measure of the Left’s progress in the culture war that the architect of Republican support for over-the-counter contraceptives is a Catholic, Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, who in 2012 wrote a Wall Street Journal op-ed in favor it. According to Time, “Jindal’s political aides, and many GOP operatives, believe birth control is a gateway issue for women voters. While the politics of abortion have remained consistently split, Republicans fear being cast as anti-birth control could cost them a generation of women voters. ‘It’s often an immediate shutdown,’ said one Jindal aide.”

The Left should rejoice that “socially conservative” Catholics like Jindal have become enthusiasts for a position Catholic teaching regards as sinful. This will make it even easier for the Left to dismiss the Church’s stance as too “irrational” to warrant religious-freedom protection. It is hard to imagine Republicans who favor over-the-counter contraceptives serving as reliable defenders of the Church’s religious freedom over time. If Obama’s original contraceptive mandate became overwhelmingly popular, wouldn’t they end up supporting that too in the name of retaining women voters?

From "The Culture Wars, Then and Now" by Daniel J. Solomon, The Harvard Crimson 9/15/14

How did the left win the culture wars? That answer depends on how much thoughtfulness we impute to the American electorate. Often, when voters sour on the specific policies of Republicans or Democrats, they move away from the party as a whole. Barack Obama’s first presidential campaign, for example, turned on economic questions, but he gained his initial following thanks to his timely denunciations of the Iraq war. The polling data suggests as much. Between 2005 and 2008, the decline in President Bush’s approval rating—which fell as the news from Iraq grew grimmer—was correlated with a rise in public support for the social acceptance of homosexuality.

ObamaNation: Sexual Deviancy now National Treasure

Too many Americans have little knowledge of American history, but thanks to President Obama's singular focus on the Gay Agenda, Americans will be thoroughly propagandized by the Smithsonian Institution, which was established in 1846 "for the increase and diffusion of knowledge."

Abortion Advocates No Longer 'Pro-choice'

In the 1970s, those advocating legalization of abortion freely used the word "abortion," but once Americans began to fully understand "pregnancy termination," the label "pro-choice" was invented, and then "reproductive rights" -- all to avoid being labeled "pro-abortion." Now, Planned Parenthood says that they're dropping their self-anointed label "pro-choice" in favor of the label "advocates for women's health."
“. . . the ‘pro-choice’ language doesn’t really resonate particularly with a lot of young women voters.”
-- Cecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood Federation of America

Pro-choice become popular in the wake of the 1973 Roe v. Wade abortion ruling, because it succinctly countered the pro-life tag used by those who opposed the procedure. But around 2010, Planned Parenthood said the label started falling on deaf ears of younger women.

It’s still not clear what phrase could comfortably substitute for the pithy “pro-choice.” But some activists have been slinging about “women’s health” and “economic security” while talking about Planned Parenthood policy.

Meanwhile, those opposed to abortion — the “pro-life” crowd — have picked up on Planned Parenthood’s attempt to change the message. And they’re seeing that switch as something to cheer.

From "Advocates Shun ‘Pro-Choice’ to Expand Message" by Jackie Calmes, New York Times 7/28/14

Pro-choice became commonplace after the 1973 Roe ruling, to counter the pro-life label of the anti-abortion movement. The description was seen as having broader appeal than “pro-abortion,” since it fit those who were personally against abortion but opposed any government control over women’s health decisions.

But by 2010 some abortion-rights activists began to sense in their outreach to young women, whose support was needed not only for the midterm elections but for the movement’s future as well, that the term pro-choice was virtually meaningless. That was confirmed by postelection polls and focus groups that women’s organizations and Democrats commissioned to understand what went wrong.

. . . such results also showed the weakness of the pro-choice label, advocates and pollsters said. Planned Parenthood took the lead, conducting research on public attitudes throughout 2011 and then presenting the findings to allies in various meetings.

. . . The issue isn't that "pro-choice" is no longer sufficient. It's that "pro-choice" was never sufficient for many . . . women of color fighting not just for "choice," but for full reproductive justice.

And there's good reason for that fight. The concept of "choice" speaks only to those who had (and have) the ability to make and exercise choices in the first place.

We at Planned Parenthood recognize that organizations and leaders of color made this shift decades before we began to doubt the capacity of the "pro-choice" label to fully represent the dreams of our movement.

Pregnancy and childbearing have been experienced quite differently by women of various races and economic classes. White married women with economic privilege, who have been able to prevent or terminate unintended pregnancies, indeed have been able to "choose" abortion since it became legal in 1973 with Roe v. Wade. However, historically women of color have not had choices because the ability to control their bodies and reproduction was stolen from them. Racist policies and attitudes have obstructed the ability of women of color to choose whether and when to bear children.

From "Losing the Abortion Debate, Planned Parenthood is Abandoning the Term 'Pro-Choice'" by Kristan Hawkins, LifeNews.com 7/29/14

. . . an actual pro-choice person would want women to see ultrasounds before they decide to have an abortion or to have access to all the information they could on what abortion is, how it affects the women on a physical, mental and spiritual level. Logically, the term pro-choice just doesn’t make sense.

The abortion lobby wants to use terms like “women’s health” instead to promote abortion. But women’s health isn’t about abortion. Please. Any woman is going to see through that façade.

Women’s health isn’t about abortion – it’s about mammograms (which Planned Parenthood doesn’t do), well visits, making sure women are eating healthy and taking care of themselves so they can take care of their families, mental well-being, work-life balance, and other things that yes, deal with reproduction, but also deal with the impressive body and inner workings of being a woman. The “right” to end the life of her child doesn’t encompass “women’s health.”

“Health is a popular buzz word for abortionists, but is much weakened as medical science shows women’s health is harmed by abortion,” said Charmaine Yoest, president and CEO of Americans United for Life.

“The abortion industry is moving from 'choice' to coercion, changing its strategy from mainstream abortion in culture to integrating it into health care,” she said.

“Thanks to the miracle of the ultrasound, generations are able to see what the abortionist’s ‘choice’ is: the death of an unborn child. And thanks to a growing body of medical research, we know that ‘choice’ hurts women as well,” Yoest said.

“Today, the abortion industry has moved from ‘choice’ to coercion, attempting to use the force of government to force compliance with an abortion agenda, or face dire consequences.”

Nonexistent 'Gay Gene' Hidden for Years: Doctors

Responding to a challenge, the Royal College of Psychiatrists admitted they had disregarded studies showing that homosexual attraction is not solely genetic. Not surprisingly, virtually all media outlets buried this revelation in order to perpetuate the baseless public perception, as seen in polls, that homosexual behavior is immutable -- not a disorder nor a character flaw.

-- From "Psychiatrists back down on 'born gay' claim" posted at Christian Concern 5/30/14

The [organization's] review follows strong criticism made by the Christian Medical Fellowship and Core Issues Trust of the way in which the Royal College had handled scientific evidence on the issue.

In justifying its new position, the Royal College cites studies that are over 10 years old. There is no explanation as to why weight had not previously been given to these. The Christian Medical Fellowship and Core Issues Trust had critiqued the Royal College's approach to evidence in their submissions to the Church of England's Pilling Report.

However, in spite of the recognition that post-birth factors play a part in development of sexual attraction and that sexual orientation is not immutable, the Royal College maintains its opposition to therapy aimed at helping people explore the possibility of change in sexual orientation. Instead it suggests that such therapy is 'potentially harmful' but cannot point to any hard evidence to justify such an assertion.

From "Royal College of Psychiatrists' statement on sexual orientation" April 2014

The Royal College of Psychiatrists considers that sexual orientation is determined by a combination of biological and postnatal environmental factors. . . .

There is now a large body of research evidence that indicates that being gay, lesbian or bisexual is compatible with normal mental health and social adjustment. However, it is eminently reasonable that the experiences of discrimination in society and possible rejection by friends, families and others (such as employers), means that some lesbian, gay and bisexual people experience a greater than expected prevalence of mental health and substance misuse problems. Lifestyle issues may be important in some gay men and lesbians, particularly with respect to higher rates of substance misuse.

It is not the case that sexual orientation is immutable or might not vary to some extent in a person’s life. Nevertheless, sexual orientation for most people seems to be set around a point that is largely heterosexual or homosexual. Bisexual people may have a degree of choice in terms of sexual expression in which they can focus on their heterosexual or homosexual side. It is also the case that for people who are unhappy about their sexual orientation – whether heterosexual, homosexual or bisexual – there may be grounds for exploring therapeutic options to help them live more comfortably with it, reduce their distress and reach a greater degree of acceptance of their sexual orientation.

From "Psychiatrists Reject ‘Born Gay’ Theory but Oppose Change Therapy" by Dr. Mike David, Director, Core Issues Trust 5/27/14

Homosexuals are not ‘born gay’ according to a recent statement by the Royal College of Psychiatrists [as they had previously denied].

It implies that if a child does not encounter such postnatal life experiences, he/she will grow up heterosexual.

The College has also modified its view on whether orientation can change. . . . Yet the College supports current legislative efforts before Parliament to ban therapy for people who want help reducing same-sex desires. They imply that such therapy does not work, though a report by the American Psychological Association to which they appeal said, “there is little in the way of credible evidence that could clarify whether [therapy] does or does not work.” They say it may be harmful – a truism that applies to all therapies. And they ignore the rights of clients who do not want to be affirmed in their same-sex attractions.

From "Less Than Half of Americans Think People Are Born Gay, Poll Shows" by Megan Gannon, News Editor, Live Science 5/29/14

[The new Gallup poll shows] Forty-two percent of Americans say people can be born gay, down slightly from 2013, when 47 percent said the same, the survey found. Meanwhile, more than a third of Americans (37 percent) attribute homosexuality to external factors, such as a person's upbringing and environment.

Gallup first polled Americans about the origins of homosexual orientation in 1977. At that time, 56 percent thought being gay or lesbian was the result of a person's environment or upbringing, while only 13 percent believed people could be gay at birth, though that doesn't mean they have same-sex attractions at the very moment they are born. By 2001, this gap closed, but Americans have remained roughly divided on the issue since then.

From "Americans' Views on Origins of Homosexuality Remain Split" by Justin McCarthy, Gallup 5/28/14

Those with college educations, whites, females, liberals, Democrats, high-income earners, and those who seldom or never attend church are the most likely to believe that being gay or lesbian is something people are born with. Most of these differences among the various demographic groups were evident in previous years, with nonwhites' belief in the upbringing and environment theory substantially higher this year than last year.

The scientific community does not agree on one unified viewpoint regarding the issue of a person's sexual orientation. According to the American Psychological Association, "there is no consensus among scientists about the exact reasons that an individual develops a heterosexual, bisexual, gay, or lesbian orientation."

[Public opinion divergence] seems likely to continue as long as the scientific community remains agnostic about the question.

From "Why Are Media Conservatives Buying The Homosexual Propaganda?" by Steve Baldwin, Western Journalism 5/30/14

. . . For example, many media conservatives happily use the term “gay” or “gay rights” and the phrase that he or she “has come out of the closet.” However, such wording assumes people are born homosexual, a myth that not even the pro-homosexual American Psychiatrist Association will support anymore. After years of research, dozens of pro-homosexual scientists have failed to find the homosexual gene; and the few who did claim to find it were later discredited for engaging in fraudulent or sloppy methodology. Moreover, Dr. Francis Collins, head of the Human Genome Project, enlisted over 150 of the world’s top geneticists to decode the human genome; and they could not find a “gay” gene. It simply does not exist.

Let’s be clear here so that the Fox News crew understands. No one is “gay” or born “gay.” Instead, people engage in homosexual behavior, period. No one “comes out of the closet.” Rather, they are simply choosing to publicize their homosexual behavior. Further evidence that homosexuality is NOT genetic is the fluidness of homosexual behavior. As many as a third of homosexuals revert back to heterosexuality as Kinsey, Masters & Johnson, and numerous other liberal sex researchers have all reported.

Moreover, the very existence of thousands of ex-homosexuals in America demonstrate how tentative homosexuality really is. And yes, due to the addictive nature of homosexual behavior, some ex-homosexuals do relapse just as some drug addicts, alcoholics, and others enslaved to addictive behaviors do. No big surprise here.

However, if homosexuality is not genetic and not permanent, it is therefore caused by environmental and behavioral issues that are clearly not comparable to inborn traits like race or gender.

Pope Open to Homosexual Civil Unions, Media Report

Once again, the mainstream media leaped to put words in Pope Francis' mouth.  Numerous reports explicitly claim that the Pope supports same-sex civil unions as well as legally-sanctioned heterosexual cohabitation, when he never said any such thing, and again media are reporting that the Pope is evolving toward women clergy.

Pope Francis reaffirmed the Catholic Church’s opposition to gay marriage on Wednesday, but suggested in a newspaper interview that it could support same-sex civil unions.

For instance, civil unions provide financial security to cohabitating couples, “as for instance in medical care,” the Pope said in a wide-ranging interview published Wednesday in Corriere della Sera, an Italian daily.

A number of Catholic bishops have supported civil unions for gay couples, including Pope Francis when he was Archbishop of Buenos Aires in 2010, according to reports in National Catholic Reporter and The New York Times.

On the role of women in the church, an issue of particular concern to Catholics in the United States, the Pope hinted that changes could be in the works.

Pope Francis has famously declared a cessation of hostilities in the culture wars on same-sex marriage, contraception, and abortion that had defined the Catholic Church for much of the modern era.

On Wednesday, he signaled a new direction in that regard when discussing civil unions in a short but wide-ranging interview . . . he explained why he thought civil unions were created in the first place. . . . in a translation of the interview provided by John Thavis, the former Rome bureau chief for Catholic News Services (CNS.)

The Vatican has as recently as January said the pope and the Catholic Church are not open to same-sex civil unions, and Thavis told CBS News the pope's wording was deliberately vague in the most recent interview.

"Matrimony is between a man and a woman," the pope said, but moves to "regulate diverse situations of cohabitation (are) driven by the need to regulate economic aspects among persons, as for instance to assure medical care." Asked to what extent the church could understand this trend, he replied: "It is necessary to look at the diverse cases and evaluate them in their variety."

Asked if the church's teachings on sexual and medical ethics represented "non-negotiable values," a formulation used by Pope Benedict XVI, Pope Francis said he had "never understood the expression 'non-negotiable values.'"

"Values are values, period," he said. "I cannot say that, among the fingers of a hand, there is one less useful than another. That is why I cannot understand in what sense there could be negotiable values."

When asked how the Church could address the issue, Pope Francis said, “It is necessary to look at the diverse cases and evaluate them in their variety.”  The Pope did not say that civil unions – “diverse situations of cohabitation” – were impermissible, but that the “diverse cases” could be evaluated “in their variety.”

The Catechism of the Catholic Church says that “homosexual persons are called to chastity.” (2359) The Catechism further says, “Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity, tradition has always declared that ‘homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered.’ They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved.” (2357)

From "Women Could Have Greater Role in Church, Says Pope" by Deborah Ball, Wall Street Journal 3/5/14

The Vatican could soon make significant changes to the role of women in the Catholic Church and to its approach to divorcées, Pope Francis said in a newspaper interview.

Some Vatican experts have raised the possibility of the pope appointing women to senior positions in the Vatican bureaucracy, perhaps as the head of one of its powerful departments.

But the pope suggested even bigger changes could be in store, with a senior cardinal now consulting female experts in considering possible options.

Some church leaders advocate making women deacons, ordained ministers who can assist at Mass or perform baptisms, although the pope made no reference to such a possibility.

Islam Indoctrination Dropped at Ohio Middle School

After Jenny McKeigue, a lone parent aided by Christian lawyers, threatened a lawsuit, the Olmsted Falls City Schools opted to omit the video titled “30 Days: Muslim and America” from the 7th grade world history classes. The mother of three children in the district made the constitutional challenge after district officials scoffed at her complaint that her son “was required to memorize the 5 Pillars of Islam.”
“In response to McKeigue’s criticism, the school district invited Olmsted Falls pastors to review the video. To the school district’s chagrin, several pastors agreed with McKeigue and also questioned the accuracy of the video. Dr. Todd Hoadley, school superintendent at the time, disregarded their concerns. At a March 2013 board meeting, and in private conversations, he defended the video with the astonishing argument that the inaccuracies of the video proved its value.”

A conservative Christian group has criticized the Dublin schools superintendent for allowing students to watch a video about Islam in the last district he led.

[Richard Thompson of] The Thomas More Law Center says the Olmsted Falls district near Cleveland recently agreed to stop showing the video 30 Days: Muslims and America in seventh-grade world history classes after the law center threatened a constitutional challenge.

Todd Hoadley was superintendent of the Cleveland-area district until he was hired at Dublin last school year. “Dr. Todd Hoadley, school superintendent at the time, disregarded their concerns,” the group wrote in a media release.

Dave was required to live, dress and eat as a Muslim, study the Quran daily and participate in Muslim prayer. The video features several instances of Muslim prayer and even a look at a ‘how to pray in Islam’ sheet complete with Dave practicing how to pray and reciting lines such as ‘I testify that there is no God other than the Almighty’ and ‘I testify that Mohammad is the messenger of God.’”

Tennessee School Visits Mosque, No Time for Church

After Sumner County, Tennessee parents adamantly complained, the new Hendersonville High School policy forbids any field trips, of any kind, to religious sites.  As part of a World Studies class, students were taken to the Islamic Center of Nashville and given Korans.  Students who refused an alternate indoctrination lesson were given a "zero grade."

. . . parents were outraged that the trip did not include stops at a Christian church or a Jewish synagogue for a better understanding of each religion.

Following the backlash, Sumner County Schools spokesman Jeremy Johnson released a statement which said, in part, "After receiving a parent complaint regarding field trip locations, our district has reviewed the practice and decided to eliminate field trips to religious venues from this class, as it does not provide equal representation to all the religions studied in the course unit."

It continued, "This decision was made due to the fact that equal representation in regards to field trips for all religions studied in the course is not feasible. Per our district policy, the student who requested to not participate in the field trip was given a suitable alternative assignment that was agreed upon by both the teacher and parent."

“If you can’t go to all five [local religious sites], why are you going to any?” asked parent Mike Conner. “We sent the principal an email and voiced our concerns. She sent back a reply and told us they could not afford to go to all five.”

Children were given punch and cookies at the mosque where they listened to readings from the Koran, Conner said. They were also given copies of the Islamic holy book – which some students took and others declined.

During their visit to the Hindu temple, students engaged in meditation.

“Our kids are being indoctrinated and this is being shoved in their face,” Conner told Fox News. “It tells me they are pushing other religions and they want Christianity to take a back seat. They want our children to be tolerant of everything except Christianity.”

Conner told Fox News his 14-year-old stepdaughter Jessica decided not to attend the trip. So her teachers instructed her to write a paper comparing and contrasting the Christian, Hindu and Islamic faiths. That’s when his daughter noticed something strange.

“There was one page on the sayings of Jesus, two-thirds of a page on the sayings of Gandhi, and five pages on Muhammed,” Conner said.

Pentagon Gay Agenda: Christians = 'Hate Groups'

Documents obtained by Judicial Watch, a watchdog organization, under the "Freedom of Information Act" reveal that the DOD Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute training materials teach soldiers that Christians should be considered "extremists" if they espouse a belief that homosexual behavior is sinful.

The document relied heavily on information obtained from the Southern Poverty Law Center [SPLC], a leftwing organization that has a history of labeling conservative Christian organizations like the Family Research Council as “hate groups.”

Mr. Workman said the textbook, which has been on the Brevard County schools’ approved course list for three years, also rewrites the history of Islam. He looked through it and found the authors “make a very obvious attempt not to insult Islam by reshaping history,” Townhall reported.
