Much to the chagrin of homosexualists, other liberals won't shut up about rights to polygamy, polyamory, pedophilia, etc.  Sexual revolutionaries have long strategized to corrupt the culture slowly, one abominable step at a time, but many extremists now believe the public is gullible enough to swallow it all immediately.

The definition of marriage is plastic. Just like heterosexual marriage is no better or worse than homosexual marriage, marriage between two consenting adults is not inherently more or less “correct” than marriage among three (or four, or six) consenting adults. Though polygamists are a minority—a tiny minority, in fact—freedom has no value unless it extends to even the smallest and most marginalized groups among us. So let’s fight for marriage equality until it extends to every same-sex couple in the United States—and then let’s keep fighting. We’re not done yet.

On the one hand, it's great to have the media taking a look at polyamory. I never tire of telling the world how much I love my people and how wonderful the lives we share are. We're healthy and happy and having a good time. That's a great thing to show the world: Look, here's an idea that is really good for some people.

It's especially good to show this side of things because so many people perceive polyamory as a problem. It's weird, it's deviant, it's immoral, it means you have commitment problems or low self-esteem. You can do it if you must, but it has to be a shameful secret. Don't let the kids find out. Don't let your mom catch you. What do the neighbors think? Etc.

On the other hand, the media isn't simply holding up a mirror to the reality of polyamory. They're shaping the cultural perception of what polyamory is and who does it by carefully choosing the stories they tell.

. . . More important than merely presenting a more diverse image of polyamory to the media and our social circles is embracing a richer, more diverse model of relationships and community. . . .

They're just as guilty of discrimination as those dastardly conservatives still bitterly clinging to their guns and their religion. Why no argument for polygamy, polyamory and other forms of diversity? Why are they only defending their exclusive definition of diversity?

How dare those seeking to overturn the Defense of Marriage Act signed by President Clinton, or Proposition 8 ratified by the people of California, stop at just redefining marriage to include two consenting adults of the same gender. Why do these people believe they have the authority to draw a moralistic line against any consenting adults, and thus force their moral standard upon the rest of us?

If the government has no power to discriminate against relationships involving two consenting adults of the same gender, then why does it have the power to discriminate against multiple consenting adults of any gender?

. . . within the ranks of the UUA over the past few years, there has been some quiet unrest concerning a small but activist group that vociferously supports polyamory. That is to say “the practice of loving and relating intimately to more than one other person at a time,” according to a mission statement by Unitarian Universalists for Polyamory Awareness (UUPA). The UUPA “encourages spiritual wholeness regarding polyamory,” including the right of polyamorous people to have their unions blessed by a minister.

UUA headquarters says it has no official position on polyamory. “Official positions are established at general assembly and never has this issue been brought to general assembly,” a spokeswoman says.

But as the issue of same-sex marriage heads to the Supreme Court, many committed Unitarians think the denomination should have a position, which is that polyamory activists should just sit down and be quiet. For one thing, poly activists are seen as undermining the fight for same-sex marriage. The UUA has officially supported same-sex marriage, the spokeswoman says, “since 1979, with tons of resolutions from the general assembly.”

Within days after receiving a threat from the Wisconsin-based Freedom Free Religion Foundation, Breathitt County, Kentucky removed Ten Commandments displays from every school in the K-12 district.  Residents complain that the school officials were too quick to acquiesce to the atheists, and failed to receive public input.

The Breathitt County Public Schools' state-appointed manager has directed the district's schools to take down copies of the Ten Commandments after receiving a complaint from an organization that supports "non-religion."

Larry Hammond, named in December to run the troubled Breathitt County Schools, said Friday that he sent out the directive after receiving a letter from the Wisconsin-based Freedom From Religion Foundation earlier in the week.

Copies of the Ten Commandments have been on display in "most rooms" at the high school and middle school and in "some elementary school rooms" in Breathitt County, according to a three-page letter from Patrick Elliott, staff attorney with the Freedom From Religion Foundation.

Elliott said copies had been on display in the school system "for many years" in what he called a "flagrant violation" of the U.S. Constitution. The displays "must be removed immediately," he wrote.

Washington state Attorney General has sued Barronelle Stutzman, owner of Arlene’s Flowers and Gifts, because she declined to service a homosexual "wedding."  Citizens of Washington voted for same-sex "marriage" in November, and as a result, the government must enforce the law requiring all Christians in the state to celebrate deviant sexual behavior.

State Attorney General Bob Ferguson is suing the shop owner for discrimination. The complaint was filed in Benton County on Tuesday against Barronelle Stutzman, owner of Arlene's Flowers and Gifts in Richland.

Ferguson had sent a letter on March 28 asking her to comply with the law, but said Stutzman's attorneys responded Monday saying she would challenge any state action to enforce the law. Washington state voters upheld a same-sex marriage law in November, and the law took effect in December.

The state's anti-discrimination laws were expanded in 2006 to include sexual orientation.

Ferguson seeks a permanent injunction requiring the store to comply with the state's consumer protection laws and seeks at least $2,000 in fines.

The suit stems from a March 1 incident in which Robert Ingersoll went to Arlene’s to purchase flowers for his upcoming wedding [to Curt Freed]. Stutzman refused him service, citing her “relationship with Jesus Christ.”

“I one hundred percent believe this is a freedom-of-expression and free-exercise-of-religion issue,” he said. “What the government is saying here is that you don’t have the right to free religious exercise.”

Osborne believes that this educational model, "argumentation," makes science education more valuable, not just for future scientists but for the public at large. His recent work suggests that training teachers how to implement this model is the toughest challenge that lies ahead.

"In science, people argue for their ideas, in terms of the evidence that they have," Osborne said. "There should be more opportunities to look at why some ideas are wrong, as well as what the right ideas are."

Argumentation invites students to consider the foundations of science, Osborne said.

The [NGSS] standards explicitly endorse a naturalistic worldview . . . [and] are related to the National Science Education Standards, all produced by the National Academies of Science, 93 percent of whose members are atheists or sympathetic to an atheist, Secular Humanist religious worldview.

. . . The specific religion promoted by the [NGSS] science standards is Secular Humanism. The Humanist Manifestoes define “Religious Humanism” as “an organized set of atheistic beliefs that (1) deny the supernatural, (2) claim that life arises via unguided evolutionary processes rather than as a creation made for a purpose, and (3) claim that life should be guided by naturalistic/materialistic science and reason rather than traditional theistic religious beliefs.” The science standards affirm each of these positions—not surprisingly, granted their authors, most of whom are members of the National Academy of Sciences, 93 percent of whom, according to a survey, deny or question the existence of God.

But despite the standards’ insisting that humans are simply part of nature, their general perspective sets people off against the rest of nature. A section discussing “Human Impacts on Earth Systems” says, “Human activities now cause land erosion and soil movement … [and] [a]ir and water pollution … with damaging effects on other species and on human health.” A later section, on biodiversity and humans, asserts, “Human activity is also having adverse impacts on biodiversity through overpopulation, overexploitation, habitat destruction, pollution, introduction of invasive species, and climate change.” The assumption that what people do is bad is clear in a draft of performance expectations, which requires students to “Provide evidence that humans’ uses of natural resources can affect the world around them, and share solutions that reduce human impact”—as if human impact should always be smaller, not greater.

. . . And one thread running through almost all environmental studies curriculum is that business and industry are largely to blame for the world’s ecological crises, and consequently that we must embrace a “small is better,” “limits to growth,” “simple lifestyle” mentality at the personal level and an anti-business, anti-free market, anti-growth mentality at the societal and governmental level.

. . . The underlying naturalistic worldview and the politically charged positions on Darwinism and climate change in the NGSS show that this will be one more step in capturing the minds of America’s children—including those Christian children who attend public schools.

However, it's NOT a leading news story if the killings occur at an abortion clinic.  The trial of Kermit Gosnell for eight counts of murder at his Philadelphia clinic is NOT being reported by any national mainstream broadcast media, for obvious reasons: It exposes the gruesome details of abortion.

[The Media Research Center] reports that there has been no network coverage on ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, NPR or PBS, and just one brief mention on CNN.

Not every murder trial receives prominent national coverage, but the Gosnell case would seem to contain all the ingredients of must-see television: a formerly respected community leader accused of unspeakable acts; the death of a young immigrant woman; a parade of former employees offering graphic testimony on the gruesome deaths of more than 100 just-born infants; and even the implication by the doctor’s lawyers that the charges have been motivated by racism. Dr. Gosnell is black and his clinic was in a mostly minority neighborhood.

Conservative media watchdog groups are criticizing mainstream media networks and cable news channels for ignoring the murder trial of Kermit Gosnell, a late-term abortion provider who is accused of killing seven babies who were born alive and one patient who died from an overdose of Demerol that was administered by the clinic's unlicensed staff.

District Attorney R. Seth Williams laid out the case against Gosnell, his wife, Pearl, and eight other employees, including one 15-year-old, in a grand jury report last year, which reveals that Gosnell profited $10,000 to $15,000 a day at his late-term abortion clinic — not including the $200,000 he made from writing 2,300 illegal prescriptions for OxyContin and other addictive drugs.

The criminal case against Gosnell began on March 18 and is expected to continue for four to eight more weeks. If jurors convict Gosnell, he could face the death penalty . . .

The fourth week of testimony in Dr, Kermit Gosnell's "House of Horrors" trial began with another former employee testifying about what she saw and what she did while she worked at the Women's Medical Society.

[Sherry] West testified that once during an abortion procedure, she was very disturbed when a baby made a screeching noise. She said it was not fully-developed and "it sounded like a little alien. It really freaked me out," West told the courtroom.

West, who has pleaded guilty to 3rd degree murder and conspiracy, said tearfully that she is not guilty of her crimes and that she felt loyal to Gosnell.

Dr. Kermit Gosnell, owner of the Women's Medical Society clinic in West Philadelphia, taught her how to flip a baby's body over and do the procedure, said Lynda Williams, 44, of Wilmington, Del. But one time when she followed his orders after a baby was delivered in a toilet at the clinic, she saw the newborn move.

"It jumped, the arm," she said, showing the Philadelphia Common Pleas Court jury by raising her arm.

Williams told investigators she only snipped a neck the one time "because it gave me the creeps."

Williams said she asked Gosnell about the movement. Gosnell told her it was an "involuntary response" and a "last breath" because the fetus was "already dead" from drugs that had been administered earlier.

Harris-Perry says Americans have "never invested as much in public education as we should have because we've always had a private notion of children: 'your kid is yours and your responsibility.'"

"We haven't had a very collective notion of, 'these are our children,'" Harris-Perry said. "So part of it is we have to break through our private idea that kids belong to their parents or kids belong to their families, and recognize that kids belong to whole communities. Once it's everybody's responsibility, and not just the households, then we start making better investments."

This is not the first time that Harris-Perry has offered her opinion on the value of children, referring to the fertilized egg or, zygote, as “a thing” after dramatically breaking apart a plastic model of a woman’s reproductive system.

Choosing to air what should be the story line for a horror movie, or perhaps a documentary about Hitler, Stalin or Mao Zedong, MSNBC is apparently offering their tactile approval of the “Lean Forward” spot.

. . . The claim of Ms. Harris-Perry that “kids do not belong to their parents, kids belong to whole communities”, should infuriate every American.

These are the people that are teaching our children.

. . . As the ultimate private institution, the family is a stubborn obstacle to the great collective effort. Insofar as people invest in their own families, they’re holding out on the state and unacceptably privileging their own kids over the children of others. These parents are selfish, small-minded and backward.

. . . The truth is that parents are one of society’s most incorrigible sources of inequality. If you have two of them who stay married and are invested in your upbringing, you’ve hit life’s lottery. You’ll reap untold benefits denied to children who aren’t so lucky. That the family is so essential to the well-being of children has to be a constant source of frustration to the egalitarian statist, a reminder of the limits of his power.

Pro-life Laws Sweeping States, Roe Challenge Soon

The Alabama Legislature late Tuesday adopted stringent new regulations for abortion clinics that supporters called a step to protect women but that others called medically unnecessary and a disguised effort to force the closing of the state’s five abortion clinics.

The bill, like measures passed last year in Mississippi and Tennessee and last month in North Dakota, would require that doctors performing abortions have admitting privileges at local hospitals. Several of Alabama’s clinics rely on doctors who fly in from out of state, and given the hostile political climate it appears unlikely that nearby hospitals would grant them such privileges, said Nikema Williams, vice president for public policy of Planned Parenthood Southeast, which runs two of the clinics.

Another clause in the Alabama bill would require clinics to meet the building, equipment and staffing standards of ambulatory surgery centers, which would require some clinics to spend millions of dollars altering buildings, and buying beds and monitoring equipment, for what they say is no relevant medical purpose.

The bill will be sent to Gov. Robert Bentley, a Republican, who previously said he planned to sign it. The American Civil Liberties Union said that if the bill becomes law it is likely to sue to block it.

The House gave final approval Friday to the measure [by a 90-30 vote], which blocks tax breaks for abortion providers and outlaws abortions performed solely because of the baby's sex.

The measure also declares that life begins "at fertilization," language that abortion opponents call a statement of principle and not an outright ban on abortion, though the bill's opponents are skeptical.

The bill also prohibits abortion providers from being involved in public school sex education classes and spells out in greater detail what information doctors must provide to patients before performing abortions.

Senators voted 28-10 for a compromise version of the bill reconciling differences between the two chambers.

If the bill is signed into law, Kansas will become the eighth state declaring that life begins at fertilization, said Elizabeth Nash, state issues manager of the pro-choice Guttmacher Institute, which researches abortion-related laws nationwide.

While it would not supplant Kansas law banning most abortions after the 22nd week of pregnancy, it does set the state up to more swiftly outlaw all abortions should the U.S. Supreme Court revisit its 1973 ruling making abortion legal, Nash said.

States that already have such language are Missouri, Kentucky, Arkansas, Illinois, Louisiana, North Dakota and Ohio, Nash said.

*   the acknowledgment that ‘life begins at fertilization’ is language approved in 1989 by the U.S. Supreme Court, and adopted by 13 other states–it does not challenge abortion decisions at the federal or state level;

*   there was no money “taken” from the KUMC budget for the adult stem center, and the center is not hostage to politics, but is expanding on successful medical treatments ALREADY under way at KUMC and across the state.

Obama's Army Says Christians are Worst Terrorists

Whistleblowers have publicized the U.S. Army Reserve Equal Opportunity training brief titled “Extremism and Extremist Organizations,” a Gay Agenda propaganda document packed with anti-Christian rhetoric from the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) -- an organization that classifies every Bible-believing Christian as a dangerous bigot, and much of Scripture as "hate speech."

In contrast, the Obama Administration has refused to classify as a terrorist Maj. Nidal Hasan, who yelled “Allahu Akbar” before shooting dozens of soldiers at Ft. Hood in November 2009, and who is awaiting trial as a common murderer.

Catholic military archdiocese officials are calling on defense officials to review training materials after learning that a briefing from an Army Reserve unit cited Catholicism as an example of “religious extremism” — on a list with al-Qaida, the Ku Klux Klan, and the white supremacist Christian Identity.

“The archdiocese is astounded that Catholics were listed alongside groups that are, by their very mission and nature, violent and extremist,” said a statement from the Archdiocese for the Military Services.

The materials were used in an Equal Employment Opportunity briefing at the 316th Expeditionary Sustainment Command in Pennsylvania, said Ron Crews, a retired colonel who served as an evangelical Christian chaplain in the Army. Crews is executive director of the Chaplain Alliance for Religious Liberty. A soldier who saw the briefing contacted him, he said.

The problem could be more widespread, Crews said, because his organization has received information about briefings at other Army units and at least one Navy installation that labeled groups as “religious extremists” who were part of the Evangelical Christian community.

The Chaplain Alliance for Religious Liberty together with the Archdiocese for the Military Services recently uncovered a U.S. Army Reserve Equal Opportunity training brief that expressly identified “Evangelical Christianity” and “Catholicism” as examples of “religious extremism” like al-Qaida, Hamas, and the Klu Klux Klan.

According to an investigation and reply from the Army Chief of Chaplains office, the training in question appears to have been an isolated incident not condoned by the Department of the Army. The Chaplain Alliance and the Archdiocese explained that the Army can and should take steps to prevent such incidents in the future.

“The Army can require that a corrected brief be given to the affected Reserve units. That would help fix the gross distortions presented in the materials,” said Crews. “Second, all religious issues of this sort in the U.S military should be channeled first through the Chiefs of Chaplains offices for review.”

. . . the first group on the [“Religious Extremism”] list is evangelical Christianity. Catholicism and ultra-orthodox Judaism are also on the list of religious extremist organizations.

Following the briefing, one of the soldiers who attended the presentation and describes himself as an evangelical told the trainer he was offended at the material and asked for a copy of the briefing. After receiving a copy, he forwarded the material to Crews.

The material describes religious extremism as those having beliefs, attitudes, feelings or actions that are “far removed from the ordinary.” It then elaborates by saying that “every religion has some followers that believe that their beliefs, customs and traditions are the only ‘right way’ and that all others practicing their faith the ‘wrong way.’”

Crews said it is astounding that soldiers were taught that a key foundation of the Christian faith is now considered extreme and compared to those who want to implement Shariah law.

“The idea of salvation being exclusively through Christ is a key doctrine of the Christian faith,” Crews said. “It is amazing that the trainer felt they had the authority and right to list evangelical Christian, Catholics and orthodox Jews alongside groups like the Muslim Brotherhood.”

“We’re concerned the use of the SPLC list is not isolated,” Crews said. “The Army should make sure its equal opportunity officers across the military do not fall prey and use this SPLC list that identifies Christian and conservative organizations as hate groups as the basis for their briefing.”

“Just want to ensure everyone is somewhat educated on some of the groups out there that do not share our Army Values,” read an email from Lt. Col. Jack Rich to three dozen subordinates at Fort Campbell in Kentucky. “When we see behaviors that are inconsistent with Army Values – don’t just walk by – do the right thing and address the concern before it becomes a problem.”

The 14-page email documented groups the military considers to be anti-gay, anti-immigrant and anti-Muslim. Among the other groups mentioned are Neo-Nazis, Racist Skinheads, White Nationalists and the Ku Klux Klan.

The Family Research Council and the American Family Association were listed as being anti-gay.

“The religious right in America has employed a variety of strategies in its efforts to beat back the increasingly confident gay rights movement,” the officer wrote. “One of those has been defamation.”

The officer accused the “Christian Right” of “engaging in the crudest type of name-calling, describing LGBT people as ‘perverts” with ‘filthy habits’ who seek to snatch the children of straight parents and ‘convert’ them to gay sex,” he wrote.

More Women Shack Up & Give Birth; Marriage Rare

A federal government report with dire statistics of a culture producing children out of wedlock, purports that cohabitation is advantageous over marriage.  The report surveyed girls/women aged 15 to 44, and showed that the vast majority of those less-educated tend to cohabit with men, not necessarily the father of their children.

Only 19 percent of women who got pregnant said it led to their nuptials. In 1995, that number was 32 percent.

A new report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention showed that 48 percent of women were living with their significant other but not married to them. The number is a sharp increase from the 43 percent reported in 2002 and the 35 percent that reported the same situation in 1995.

Only 23 percent of the women said they got married first before moving in. That number dropped from 30 percent in 2002 and 39 percent in 1995. Women who opted to live without a boyfriend or husband stayed between 27 to 29 percent, which was consistent with the 1995 figures.

Seventy-four percent of 30-year-olds said they had cohabited with a partner. Fifty-five percent said they did it by the age of 25.

High school dropouts were most likely to move in with their boyfriend, with rates at 70 percent.

The older women got, the more likely they were to have tried it. A majority (55%) of women said they had lived with a boyfriend by age 25; by the time those women turned 30, a full 74% had cohabited.

Among women who moved in with a significant other before they turned 20, 25% became pregnant before they got married. But among women over 30, 8% got pregnant before marriage, the study found. The pregnancy rate for women who didn’t finish high school was 33%, compared with 5% of women who finished college.

Overall, getting pregnant was less likely to lead to marriage than in years past. Between 2006 and 2010, 19% of pregnancies prompted couples to get married. In 1995, 32% of pregnancies led to marriages, the researchers reported.

. . . nearly half of all American children have lived in a home where the adults are merely living together rather than married.

Today’s advocates of “modern family structure” will tell you that this is no big deal, that having a wedding ring is overrated. The kids, they say, will do fine either way. Well, the fact is, an intact marriage puts children way ahead of children in other types of households. National Review editor Rich Lowry, who labels the current trend a “cohabitation revolution,” notes, “Children in cohabiting households tend to lag children in intact married families on key social indicators and are not much better off than children in single-parent families.”

Jennifer Roback Morse of the National Organization for Marriage reports that children living with their mother and a live-in boyfriend are 33 times more likely to be abused than those living with their biological married parents. Also, children in households with unrelated adults are 50 times more likely to die from inflicted injuries, compared with children living with both biological parents.

Lowry says, “Children turn out to benefit from the structure, rituals, and identity that come with a lasting marriage between their parents. And the very act of committing to the norms of marriage makes adults better marital partners and parents.”

The Bloomberg administration has launched an app intended to reduce teen pregnancy called “Teens in NYC Protection+” that provides a wealth of health data for kids who are — or are thinking about becoming — sexually active, The Post has learned.

Information about everything from free clinics for HIV and STD testing to receiving condoms and emergency contraception is just a touch away on a smartphone.

“Teens in New York state have a legal right to get sexual-health services without the permission of parents, guardians, boyfriends, girlfriends, relatives or anyone else,” the [NYC Health Department] site advises.

There’s also promotional material by teens for teens, some barely out of junior high school.

"I'm a big proponent of parental consent," said Frank Russo, president of the American Family Association of New York.

Russo said he approves neither of the app nor of the fact that parents do not have to be consulted.

High school student Samantha McEvoy said kids already have access to iPhones to download similar apps.

"They might see it and think it's OK," she said.

The Obamas worshipped at St. John’s on Easter 2009, and they have visited the Episcopal congregation, which is led by the Rev. Luis Leon, numerous times, including last year.

Quoting from John 20:1-18, Leon said in the same way that Jesus told Mary Magdalene not to hold on to him, it is time for conservatives to stop holding on to what he considers outdated stances in matters of race, gender equality, homosexuals and immigrants.

“It drives me crazy when the captains of the religious right are always calling us back . . . for blacks to be back in the back of the bus . . . for women to be back in the kitchen . . . for immigrants to be back on their side of the border,” Leon said.

After the sermon, Leon told The Washington Post that he was speaking about Mary realizing that she shouldn’t hold on, accepting it and changing from that point on.

The sermon at the service, delivered by Dr. Luis Leon, an Episcopal pastor who delivered the benediction at Mr. Obama's second inauguration, took a turn for the political when the pastor decried those who wax nostalgic about the way things once were.

"I hear all the time the expression 'the good old days'," Leon said. "Well, the good old days, we forget they have been good for some, but they weren't good for everybody.

"You can't go back, you can't live in the past," he added. . . .

Luis asked his audience, "Will you accept the invitation from our Gospel today to see things with Easter vision, recognizing reality in a different and new and wonderful way?"

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney walked a line between refusing to criticize the pastor who charged the “religious right” with racism while distancing President Obama from the remarks by emphasizing that the Obama family only attended the church service due to tradition.

“I wasn’t there and I have not spoken with the president,” Carney told reporters. “I know that he enjoys going to easter services with his family. “In keeping with the tradition that dates back many presidencies, he went right across the park here to St. John’s Episcopal Church and attended services there.”

Carney refused to comment on the sermon. “Again, I wasn’t there — I don’t have a characterization of his comments,” he said.
