Obama's Monument to the 'Goodness' of Deviant Sex

Today, President Obama's senior advisor Valerie Jarrett dedicated America's first national monument to homosexuality, hedonism, and mental illness.  At the ceremony in Greenwhich Village, Jarrett praised the 1969 LGBT Stonewall riots as a battle for civil rights and emphasized this new monument as a symbol of the "true goodness" of the Gay/Transgender Agenda.

"This week I'm designating the Stonewall National Monument as the newest addition to America's national park system," Obama said in a video released by the White House on Friday.

Interior Secretary Sally Jewell visited the Stonewall Inn in 2014 to announce a new National Park Service initiative to identify important places and events associated with the LGBT civil rights struggle.

The National Park Service, which turns 100 this year, has expanded its efforts to include sites that tell the story of the LGBT community and other diverse U.S. communities, park service director Jonathan Jarvis told CNN in April.

The effort includes a Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) Heritage Initiative, launched in 2014, to identify places and events associated with the story of LGBTQ Americans for inclusion in the park service.

Local and federal officials joined members of the LGBT community at a dedication ceremony officially designating the historic Stonewall Inn as a national monument to gay rights.

“I could not be more proud than today, where we are here to celebrate and recognize the first new unit of the National Parks system, the first national monument dedicated to the story of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender community and their fight for equal rights,” Director of the National Park Service Jonathan Jarvis said.

Jarvis said Stonewall and Christopher Park have now been welcomed into the family of “America’s most important places,” that includes the Grand Canyon, Yosemite and the Statue of Liberty.

Speakers at the ceremony included Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand and Mayor Bill de Blasio, among many others.

Lesbian Pedophile Arrested over 2-year-old Girl

Peggy Louise Atkins
Police in Simpsonville, South Carolina have charged Peggy Louise Atkins with third-degree criminal sexual conduct for abusing a toddler while employed as a nurse for a company hired by Medicare and paid by the state Department of Social Services.  The offender was observed by foster parents with the 2-year-old girl in an "inappropriate position" in order to sexually stimulate Atkins.

Lt. Timmie Williams of the Simpsonville Police Department said the nurse was taken into custody Wednesday after a 2-year-old was abused at a home in the Westwood subdivision on April 18.

The warrant alleges Atkins committed a "lewd or lascivious act" upon the body of a 2-year-old girl.

A foster parent filed the complaint, saying the nurse had the child in an "inappropriate position," Williams said.

The [arrest] warrant says Atkins “… willfully and lewdly commit lewd or lascivious act upon or with the body of a 2-year-old female victim (EM), with the intent of arousing, appealing to, or gratifying the list, passions, or sexual desires of the defendant.”

The warrant says probable cause came from witness statements and photographic evidence.

. . . The 2-year-old’s birth mother tells us she believes her daughter’s suffering could have been prevented . . . [and] says her 2-year-old daughter can’t move or speak and needs daily medical care. Last year, she was left paralyzed from her father’s abuse. After her baby went to the hospital, the state never let her bring her home.

Washington, D.C.'s Bathroom 'Bigot Snitch' Law

The Washington, D.C. Office of Human Rights has issued an alert for all citizens to be on the lookout for private businesses with restrooms labeled as "men" or "women" in violation of the District's gender neutrality law.

Citizens are to photograph and electronically report renegade toilet facilities to the government.  Women's complaints about urine-spattered facilities will be disregarded, and all toilet seats will be left UP!

A 2006 D.C. law requires businesses and other places with single-occupancy public restrooms to change signs that say “men” and “women” to just “restroom.”

Some businesses, including those that say they were unaware of the law, are being fined for an “unlawful discriminatory act.”

Madam's Organ in the Adams Morgan area of Northwest D.C. serves up food, drinks and music on a nightly basis. But according to papers just sent to its owner, they are discriminating against people too.

“Two of those bathrooms have urinals only,” [bar owner Bill Duggan] said. “They are labeled men's room. I guess we are going to see some interesting gymnastics to use them.”

The District of Columbia was one of the first cities to pass a regulation like this.

D.C. has heard from other cities looking to set up similar rules. Seattle has reached out for advice and will enact its own regulation there this coming week.

In D.C., the rule of the land is that single-occupancy public restrooms may not be set aside for men or women. They are gender neutral and must be designated as such, to avoid discriminatory, awkward or even violent incidents toward transgendered individuals.

But the 2006 regulation issued by the Office of Human Rights lacked teeth. While it won’t be flushed, the Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs’ Construction Codes Coordinating Board has stepped in with a more forceful rule — change your signs or face a hefty fine.

To designate a restroom meant for one person at a time (even if it has both a stall and a urinal) for either men or women would be a Class 3 civil infraction and could result in a $500 fine.

In a rather Orwellian development pertaining to the current transgender bathroom debate, the city government of Washington D.C. is calling on individuals to report private businesses that have single-occupancy, non gender-neutral bathrooms.

Some may point out that considering only 0.3% of the population is transgender, there is little reason to assume they will ever use the majority of bathrooms being made available to them. Instead it creates a much more likely scenario of these bathrooms being used by people who pose a direct threat to women and children.

As it currently stands, businesses who do not comply with these measures are being fined for “unlawful discriminatory act[s],” regardless of whether those businesses are even aware the law exists.

Failed Sexual Utopia Plagued by Rampant Disease

President Obama's Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is reporting record high new cases of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), thus demonstrating complete failure of health agencies and government schools for a safe sexual revolution.
“We need to do a better job of giving our young people the skills and knowledge they need to protect their own health.  It’s important to teach students about healthy relationships and how to reduce sexual risk before they start to have sex.”

The CDC’s new report shows STD like chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis increased dramatically in 2014 [the latest year tabulated].

In 2014, 1.4 million cases of chlamydia were reported to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention a 2.8 percent increase since 2013. This is the highest number of cases of any STD ever reported to the CDC, the government researchers said in the annual report.

In 2014, there were just over 350,000 reported cases of gonorrhea — a rate of nearly 111 per 100,000 people. In addition, there were 20,000 reported cases of syphilis — a rate of about 6 per 100,000, the report said.

The most vulnerable populations, particularly young people, women and gay and bisexual men, continue to be hardest hit . . . men who have sex with men accounts for 90 percent of new cases of primary and secondary syphilis.

Health officials say they are eyeing a handful of reasons, including increasing PrEP use among men who have sex with men. PrEP, or pre-exposure prophylaxis, is a pill taken daily to prevent HIV infection in people who are at risk of getting the virus. Officials are concerned that people taking PrEP might not realize it doesn’t protect against other STDs, and engage in sexual activity that puts them at greater risk for contracting infections like syphilis.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention runs a program to dole out grants to state and local programs to provide their citizens with STD prevention resources. . . .

The findings, released by the CDC, mean that many students are not receiving critical health and safety information on topics like HIV, STDs, and pregnancy prevention. . . .

The report is based on CDC’s 2014 School Health Profiles, which surveys schools across the country on whether or not they teach all 16 recommended sexual health education topics, as well as other major health subjects.

For middle schools, the proportion teaching all 16 recommended topics ranged from 4 percent in Arizona to 46 percent in North Carolina. In no state did more than half of middle schools meet the goal, and in most states less than 20 percent did.

These numbers are cause for concern, experts say, as young people continue to face serious but avoidable sexual health risks.

Gov't Wants 'Defective Babies' to Harvest Organs

Due to a shortage of human organs, the UK National Health Service (NHS) is reportedly pressuring expectant mothers suspected of carrying offspring with serious abnormalities to fully gestate while offering their babies as non-consenting organ donors upon delivery in return for remuneration.  Responding to media uproar, the NHS admitted to the financial support and said that such donation is solely a parental decision.

Some defects or disorders, which mean a child cannot survive after birth, can be detected early in pregnancy. One defect, anencephaly, in which the child’s brain fails to develop, can be spotted by a scan as early as 12 weeks.

Under the proposals, pregnant women discovered to be carrying such babies would be supported through the remainder of their pregnancy, allowing the child’s organs to develop fully. They would give birth as normal and key organs would be removed from the baby once it had been certified dead.

About 230 babies with anencephaly are aborted every year in Britain. Only a dozen are born alive.

A shortage of donated organs poses a problem for health authorities across the world who fail to save the lives of the patients who need them. Organ harvesting has always been surrounded by an ethical debate, however, it has largely become an accepted medical practice in the recent times.

The issue became highlighted following the annual meeting of the British Transplantation Society in Glasgow. Participating parties discussed and suggested ways to increase organ donations, wherein the NHS considered “proposals that would see mothers ‘supported’ to go ahead with the birth of children with non-survivable conditions,” reports The Independent.

However, the claim has been completely ridiculed by the NHS authorities. According to an NHS spokesperson, the organization has no way to figure out who is pregnant with a baby affected by non-survivable conditions. They can only get to know about such babies if the pregnant mother expresses her wish to donate the organs of the baby.

The spokesperson further said that organ donation of the baby under non-survivable conditions will only be considered if the potential parents express their own wish to explore the option of organ donation. The organization further claims that while supporting such families, it makes sure to explain to them that the procedure is complex and it is not always possible to go ahead with organ harvesting.

Until recently, transplants were banned in children under the age of two months, but the rules were changed after it was proven that the organs of new-borns can make the difference between life and death – even for adults.

Speaking to the Mail on Sunday, transplant surgeon Niaz Ahmad said the NHS was looking at options for “rolling out [new-born transplants] as a viable source of organ transplantation nationally”.

And raising the prospect of discussing the option with pregnant women directly, he was quoted as saying: “There is a real potential for using these organs [and] we are going to discuss whether it is an option, somehow, to tell women in this situation, that organ donation is an option.”

The three-year plan is the CIA’s chance to “weave diversity and inclusion deep into the fabric of our Agency,” which reflects the Obama administration’s priorities.

From 2016 to 2019, the goal is to increase the presence of marginalized demographics in the agency, though it’s not clear what unique skills transgender individuals bring to the table, in comparison to ethnic groups, who usually have valuable linguistic skills in high demand.

The CIA will implement training efforts to emphasize the importance of diversity and inclusion in leadership and development programs and will establish a pipeline to funnel diversity hires to top positions. Any barriers to this effort must be eliminated.

A key barrier will likely be the reaction of employees to the new hires, which is precisely why the CIA is set to unfold “unconscious bias” training, in order to “deepen diversity and inclusion awareness and expertise among all officers through corporate-wide unconscious bias training, speaker series, and other learning opportunities.”

Among the intelligence agency’s key actions to meet this goal is to teach recruitment officers to “strengthen cultural competencies and combat unconscious bias.”

The CIA will measure its progress of recruiting minorities, LGBT individuals, veterans, and women by using an “inclusion index.” The agency will also track “Diversity and gender break-down of applicant flow data and recruiting trends.”

CIA Director John Brennan said diversity and inclusion are “at the heart” of what the intelligence service is “charged to do.”

The CIA will “establish diversity and inclusion objectives for programs focused on professional development, including mentoring, coaching, shadowing, and other experiences that aim for officers to develop as CIA Intelligence Professionals.”

I would be behind the CIA's diversity efforts if I could be convinced that they will enhance the agency's ability to keep us safe.  But a program dedicated to recruiting transgendered people is not designed to make the agency better – only more "diverse."

Can you find anything in [that CIA Plan] that would lead you to believe that the CIA will improve its human intelligence gathering – HUMINT – if it seeks out employees based not exclusively on their abilities or intelligence, but rather on someone's nebulous notions of what constitutes "diversity"?  I can't.  And I suspect that the social justice warriors at the agency don't care about such mundane notions as hiring the best and brightest to protect America.

To them, it's more important to protect their politically correct ideas that make diversity an end in and of itself.  And if the agency's ability to protect us is eroded?  A small price to pay for diversity.

The story had become C.I.A. lore. In the late 1980s, a standout senior analyst who became the butt of jokes when she came out resigned after enduring months of cruel glances and crude remarks.

Jenny, the young officer, who is a Middle East expert, hadn’t heard yet about Diane Schroer, the former Army officer who set an important legal precedent for transgender federal employees by suing the Library of Congress in 2005. She didn’t know what, if any, legal protections and benefits transgender employees at the C.I.A. were entitled to.

All she knew with certainty was that going through life as a man had become unbearable.

Feds Push Muslim Dress on Christian Girls: Schools

President Obama's Department of Education is advocating the introduction of Islamic garb in public schools, and so schools across America are doing just that.  In Rochester, New York, hundreds of students and faculty participated in World Hijab Day at World of Inquiry School No. 58. Critics said this was a violation of "separation of church and state" but the school's attorney said, on the contrary, NOT bringing Islamic dress into the school would be a constitutional violation.

The event was initiated after tenth grader Eman Muthana -- who routinely wears a hijab -- wrote a letter to the school concerned about how she and other girls were being viewed.

Friday, the school set up tables in the cafeteria to allow students to ask questions -- and invited girls to try on a hijab. Boys were given carnations to show their support.

Board of Education President Van White came to witness the event -- and says he came away proud of Muthana and the students who took part.

Parents were notified by automated calls Friday about the event -- but only after media began inquiring. White says in hindsight, the school probably should have planned to bring parents into the conversation sooner, so they could have discussions with their own children about the topic.

Critics lashed out on social media as word spread about the public school's decision to partake in the day that some say violates the separation of church and state.

"I love that we're having the open conversation. I think that's the first step into making it a more open and tolerant environment. I think this is the perfect school for it," said English-as-a-Second-Language teacher Kelly Lalonde.

World Hijab Day is observed every first of February. The celebration started three years ago when New York resident Nazma Khan thought of using the hijab as a way to promote religious tolerance and understanding. Moreover, Khan wanted to dispel the myth that the hijab is meant to represent oppression and segregation. Rather, this sacred headscarf has the power to make someone feel beautiful.

This year, Khan hoped to have 10 million participants for the World Hijab Day. . . .

Create an anti-bias learning environment. When you teach about world religions, be sure to include Islam. . . .

Atheists Force 9/11 Sign Down, Kansas Locals Rebel

Since the local post office yielded to the Wisconsin-based Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF) last month by removing a "God Bless America" banner placed by postal workers 15 years ago, residents of Pittsburg, Kansas have displayed thousands of such signs throughout town.

The Pittsburg post office took the banner down Wednesday after hearing complaints about it from the Wisconsin-based Freedom From Religion Foundation. The organization said hanging the banner at the post office violated the principle of separation of church and state.

A spokeswoman for the U.S. Post Office [Twana Barber] said the postal service removed the banner because postal policy prohibits the placement of notices on postal property unless they’re official government notices.

The Pittsburg Morning Sun reports that a similar banner appeared at a couple of local businesses by Thursday, and a local sign company says requests for more signs have been pouring in.

Postal workers [about 60] paid for the 12-foot-long vinyl banner after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks that took down the Twin Towers and killed 2,996 people in New York, the Pentagon and in Pennsylvania.

Ed Hinde watched as employees took out the eight screws holding the red, white and blue banner to the southeast corner of the post office at Seventh and Locust streets. They rolled up the banner because it was brittle after more than a decade outside.

“After the Sept. 11 attacks, a group of employees came to me and said, ‘Let’s do something’,” recalled Hinde, who served as postmaster from 1987 to 2003. “The employees paid for half of it, and I paid for half of it.”

About a dozen people, including retired letter carriers, members of the American Legion and other Pittsburg residents, watched in silence.

. . . Jake's Fireworks responded by printing 1,200 "God Bless America" yard signs and 300 similar banners. The company began handing out signs at 11 a.m. and by 11:45 a.m., the signs were gone.

Cars stretched over two blocks. Drivers were eventually met with rows of American flags and a digital sign saying "God Bless America" as they pulled into the company’s driveway at east industrial park, where Marietta and other employees directed traffic and greeted the drivers.

The company had a crew work overnight printing signs, [retail sales director Jason Marietta] said. Marietta knew the demand would be high after a Facebook post was shared 1,500 times. He just didn’t imagine it would be this big.

It took roughly 45 minutes for community members to clear out 1,500 signs, but employees continued to take down contact information to distribute additional signs and banners as they are printed.

Thursday morning, a very similar banner appeared on the fence next to local business Jayhawk Signs and Graphics, another at CDL Electric Company and social media marketing by Jake’s Fireworks promised more to come.

“We hung the banner in support of our troops and to commemorate the 9/11 attacks on America,” said Shea McLaughlin, with CDL Electric. “That banner has nothing to do with religious values or political correctness. It has everything to do with freedom of speech and the foundation that this country was built on.”

McLaughlin said that foundation is the God-given right to be free, along with free speech.

“Sometimes you have to stand up for what’s right,” McLaughlin continued. “In the day and age of political correctness someone has to be a leader and stand up for what they believe in.”

. . . Area residents also showed up at the post office with sandwich boards and flags, earning cheers of support from passers-by.

NASA Bans Jesus, Threatening Employees' Freedom

Lawyers at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) told agency Christian employees to terminate use of the name 'Jesus' when announcing their scheduled lunch break gatherings, as they've been doing since the turn of the century.  Lawyers representing the employees are threatening a lawsuit for discrimination and violations of First Amendment rights of citizens.

The Liberty Institute, which is representing the Christian employees, threatened Monday to sue NASA over what it claims is religious discrimination. At issue is whether a praise and worship club should be allowed to use the name “Jesus” in NASA’s employee newsletter.

NASA told the Christian employees last year the meeting announcement they posted in the newsletter violated the government’s responsibility to remain neutral on religious matters, according to the Institute. The agency did not tell the Christian employees to stop meeting during lunchtime, but did order the club to refrain from using the name “Jesus” in their emails.

“It is illegal for the government to censor the name of Jesus from emails authored by employees,” Jeremy Dys, senior counsel for Liberty Institute, said in a statement. “Preventing a religious club’s announcement just because it contains the name ‘Jesus’ is blatant religious discrimination. We call on NASA to end their censorship and apologize.”

The praise and worship club has been meeting at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston since 2001. They discuss their faith and sing worship songs during their lunch break.

These employees had formed a private group within the agency called the JSC Praise and Worship Club, an entity separate from the agency. As part of the group, employees meet together during lunch to pray, and no one is prevented from taking part in the group’s activities.

In an announcement email, one of the employees had used the word “Jesus.” A few days after the email went out, NASA lawyers clamped down and said the use of the word was absolutely unacceptable and would not accept the group’s offer to issue any kind of disclaimer to downplay its use.

The Liberty Institute wants NASA to issue a response by March 10 reconsidering its original position. If not, the Liberty Institute is ready to sue the agency.

(The theme for this session will be "Jesus is our life!") Prayer partners will be available for anyone who has need. All JSC civil servants and contractors are welcome.
Generic religious references and secular speech, like announcements for soccer camps, Latin Dance classes—or even Praise and Worship Club announcements without the name “Jesus”—are still permitted in JSC Today.

How in the world do these words [in the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution] — “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof ...” justify NASA ordering a praise and worship club to stop using “Jesus” in a NASA-related newsletter?

Those who think the First Amendment and/or the “separation of church and state” (a phrase not in the U.S. Constitution, if that matters) supports the removal of each and every religious reference from the public domain (although it seems Christianity is usually the targeted religion) are either ignorant of the U.S. Constitution or have an agenda.

It is pure and simple. The First Amendment is meant to keep the federal government from mandating a religion — the kind of persecution and oppression that led many to risk their lives for freedom.

Instead, many are of the mistaken belief that the First Amendment is meant to remove all public displays of religion. And NASA has provided yet another example.

Obama's Enforcer Follows Man into Ladies' Room

The federal government has strong-armed Deluxe Financial Services Corp. of Shoreview, Minnesota into an agreement to pay $115,000 and change its company policy to allow men into women's facilities.  As part of the legal action, the Obama administration Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) will be following up to ensure the company succumbs fully to the Gay Agenda.

The male employee, after beginning to show up for work in female clothing, complained in part, that Deluxe supervisors and coworkers referred to him using male pronouns.

According to EEOC’s complaint, Britney Austin was assigned the male sex at birth and presented as male when hired by the company. Ms. Austin performed her duties satisfactorily in the company’s Phoenix offices throughout a lengthy tenure. However, after she informed her supervisor that she was transgender and began to present as a woman at work, Deluxe refused to let her use the women’s restroom.

Such alleged conduct violates Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which prohibits sex discrimination, including that based on transgender status and gender stereotyping. This includes subjecting an employee to different terms and conditions or a hostile work environment because of sex.

A suit filed by EEOC, EEOC v. Deluxe Financial Services, Inc., sought both monetary and injunctive relief. Britney Austin intervened in the lawsuit and asserted additional claims.

Minnesota U.S. District Court Judge Ann Montgomery issued a consent decree on Jan. 20 ordering Deluxe Financial Services Inc. to pay Britney Austin the amount and change its equal employment opportunity policies to prevent unlawful sex discrimination and harassment.

Montgomery also told the company to issue a letter of reference for future employers, change its national health benefits plan to delete any partial exclusion for health care based on transgender status and provide an annual report to the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), which filed the lawsuit on behalf of the complainant.

The company issued a letter of apology, which states, "We want to ensure you that we have made changes to our internal policies, including how we treat transgender employees' requests to change biographical information or use a restroom commensurate with their gender identity."

"The company has changed its policies to ensure that transgender employees may use a restroom commensurate with their gender identity, that the company will promptly correct that employee's sex designation and name in our internal records and systems, and that we will take hostile comments based on sex- stereotyping seriously, investigate them, and take prompt corrective and remedial action," the letter read.

In addition to requiring that Deluxe pay monetary damages to Ms. Austin, a three-year consent decree provides that Deluxe will issue a letter of apology to Ms. Austin and a letter of reference for future employers. The consent decree also provides that, as of January 1, 2016, Deluxe's national health benefits plan will not include any partial or categorical exclusion for otherwise medically necessary care based on transgender status.

"This settlement underscores EEOC's commitment to securing the rights of transgender individuals under Title VII in the federal courts," said EEOC General Counsel David Lopez. "This is our second such resolution and we hope that employers will take notice and begin to take proactive steps to prevent and eliminate discrimination against their transgender workers."

This is the third lawsuit filed by EEOC alleging discrimination on the basis of transgender status. In April, 2015, a Florida eye clinic paid $150,000 to settle an EEOC lawsuit seeking relief for an employee who had been transitioning from male to female. EEOC also filed suit seeking relief for an employee of a Detroit area funeral home fired for transitioning from male to female, which is still pending.

Acting [EEOC] District Director Elizabeth Cadle added, "EEOC considers protecting transgender, lesbian, gay, and bisexual employees to be a strategic enforcement priority. We will continue to assure that transgender employees receive the full benefit of federal anti-discrimination laws in all industries."

Austin wasn’t allowed to use the women’s restroom and co-workers used hurtful epithets and intentionally used the wrong gender pronouns to refer to her, the EEOC said in a June complaint. The company denies having created or subjected Austin to a hostile workplace, and said it’s “fully committed to fostering an inclusive, respectful workplace,” according to the order.

“In the interest of resolving this matter, to avoid further cost of litigation, and as a result of having engaged in comprehensive settlement negotiations, the parties have agreed that this action should be resolved by entry of this decree,” Judge Montgomery wrote in Wednesday’s order.

The EEOC is represented in-house by Laurie A Vasichek, Iris Halpern and Michael H. Imdiecke. Austin is represented by Jillian T. Weiss and Ezra Young.

Deluxe is represented by Angela Beranek Brandt and David M. Wilk of Larson King LLP.

1) Include gender identity in your non-discrimination and no-harassment policies. If you’re a federal contractor, you should have done this a long time ago. If you’re not, then you should seriously consider adding it now.

2) Make sure your policies provide that discrimination against or harassment of individuals because of their transgender (and related) status will not be tolerated, whether the behavior comes from “employees, customers, agents, contractors, sub-contractors, clients,” or anyone else.

3) Make sure that employees understand that deliberately referring to a transgendered person by his or her “biological” gender, or by his or her original name, is considered discrimination and harassment by the EEOC.

. . .

5) A transgendered employee should be allowed to use the restroom “commensurate with their gender identity” without any limitations. Again, the EEOC’s position is that the employer may not ask for the medical records of the transgendered employee, or otherwise probe into his or her medical details before doing so. (This means an employer cannot make the employee wait to change restrooms until after he or she has had gender-reassignment surgery.)

7) The employer should conduct annual training for rank-and-file employees that includes discrimination based on gender identity, sex stereotyping, and gender dysphoria, and should penalize any employee who fails to complete the training on an annual basis.

Feds Fire Pastor for Public Baptizing in Calif.

Roger Holly, a Baptist minister, was fired from his job as maintenance worker at the San Francisco Maritime National Historic Park because he unnoticeably baptized a park visitor in the Pacific Ocean during lunch.  Holly has since filed a federal lawsuit against the Department of the Interior for being fired by the National Park Service, and for being told not to discuss religion with the public and being restricted from reading his Bible at lunchtime.

He says he was out of uniform at the time and simply helped dunk the visitor into the ocean.

"The religious 'ceremony' Holly performed did not include any outward, objective display of religion, such as reading sacred texts, public prayer, sermonizing or the like," the complaint states. "It simply appeared that two persons were swimming in the ocean, much like other park visitors."

Holly says no other members of the public were involved or raised an issue about the baptism. He claims that one of his former coworkers, a Native American woman, is allowed to display spiritually symbolic feathers in her Park Service vehicle, but his supervisor, defendant Robert Kier, interrogated him about the baptism.

New Obama Regs: Homeless Men Must Sleep with Women

President Obama's Department of Housing and Urban Development has published an expansion of its 2012 “Equal Access Rule” concerning sexually confused (transgender) people, such that upon request, any homeless man who shows up at an emergency shelter must be allowed to shelter with the women.

The new rule is an update to an existing policy that barred discrimination against lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people seeking public housing or housing assistance from the federal government. Under the proposed rule, the Department would provide access to housing and services based off of a persons gender identity, not the gender they were assigned at birth.

“A person seeking shelter is already in a very vulnerable situation, and they deserve to be treated with dignity when they request our assistance,” said HUD Secretary Julián Castro. “This rule takes us one step closer to full acceptance of transgender men and women, and will ensure they receive the proper services that respect their identity.”

The rule would have the most impact on sex-specific shelters, which would have to house transgender people based which sex they identify with, not the sex they were born as. For clarity, a transgender woman would be housed in a women’s shelter, not a men’s one. A 2011 study on transgender discrimination found that while one third of transgender people seeking asylum in homeless shelters were denied because of their gender identity, about 42% were housed in shelters that did not align with their sex. While in the shelters, people reported being subjected to harassment, violence, and sexual assault.

The proposed "Equal Access in Accordance with an Individual's Gender Identity in Community Planning and Development Programs Rule (Gender Identity Rule)" was created after reviewing and monitoring implementation of HUD's Equal Access to Housing in HUD Programs Regardless of Sexual Orientation or Gender Identity Rule (Equal Access Rule), which was published in 2012.

"With respect to facilities with shared sleeping or bathing areas, the policies recommended include addressing the needs of transgender persons and other persons who do not identify with the sex assigned to the individual at birth", according to the rule.

The proposal fell on the annual Transgender Day of Remembrance, a day to pay tribute to the people whose lives were lost due to anti-transgender violence.

The agency is also expanding its definition of “gender identity” for purposes of the regulation.

“Gender identity means the gender with which a person identifies, regardless of the sex assigned to that person at birth,” the new definition reads. “Perceived gender identity means the gender with which a person is perceived to identify based on that person’s appearance, behavior, expression, other gender-related characteristics, or sex assigned to the individual at birth.”

The agency added, “Perceived gender identity may differ from the identity with which a person identifies.”

The proposed regulation also notes that the rule could apply to anyone, regardless of whether or not they use the term “transgender” to describe themselves.

Birth Control Device Hazardous: Gov't Wrong Again

In 2002, the federal FDA approved Essure, a device consisting of metal coils and other synthetic materials designed to be permanently implanted into the fallopian tubes of healthy women in order to sterilize them.  After years of negative health effects by thousands of women, the FDA is reconsidering the safety of this device produced by Bayer Healthcare Pharmaceuticals, Inc.
"This is a high priority issue for the agency.  The FDA plans to review the findings of this study, along with the latest medical literature on the Essure device . . ."

Dr. Art Sedrakyan of Weill Cornell Medicine in New York and colleagues analyzed data from 8,048 women who got Essure implants and compared them to 44,278 who had standard surgery to block or "tie" their fallopian tubes between 2005 and 2013 in New York State.

"A more than 10-fold higher occurrence of reoperation during the first year following Essure-based surgery is a serious safety concern," the team wrote in their report.

"And that surgery is likely to be much more complicated than the laproscopic approach that they should be considering."

The FDA is not considering pulling the device off the market, but will determine whether extra warnings should be added.

From November 2002 through May 2015, more than 5,000 women complained to the Food and Drug Administration about the sterilization device, saying it caused problems including unintended pregnancies, stillbirths and debilitating pain and bleeding. On Thursday, the FDA held an all-day hearing on Essure, taking testimony from patients and experts, and promising to announce next steps in the near future.

. . . [Kristiana] Burrell, who also has three stepchildren, said she became pregnant while using the Essure device, even though at the time she was also using a back-up method of birth control.

That baby, whom she and her husband named Ariel Grace, was born in June, nearly three months early. She never took a breath.

Burrell said her obstetrician blamed Essure for the stillbirth, saying the device's coil ruptured her amniotic sac, causing Burrell to go into labor prematurely. She said she now needs a hysterectomy because the device has perforated her uterus.

Sterilization with Essure (called hysteroscopic sterilization) does offer benefits compared to other kinds of procedures, Sedrakyan team said, and it's not clear how many of the reoperations were required due to serious medical problems.

Essure procedures were more expensive (a median of $7,800 compared to $5,100) than surgical procedures, the researchers said. And 30 days after the procedure, the odds of a major medical complication were lower for Essure procedures than for surgery.

However, 2 percent of Essure patients required reoperations later on compared to just 0.2 percent of surgical patients. The difference remained after the researchers adjusted their statistics to account for age and other health problems.

A panel of experts convened by the Food and Drug Administration excoriated the manufacturer of a contraceptive device for not collecting data that they say could have helped predict risks for women. . . .

Women told of autoimmune problems such as eczema, lupus, celiac disease, of cysts, abscesses and tumors, of severe fatigue and losing control of their bowels, and of odysseys through the health care system in search of diagnoses. Many women have sued the company. The company’s supporters say it is not clear what share of those problems, if any, were caused by the device.

Perhaps most troubling was an account by Gabriella Avina, who said she had taken part in the original clinical trials and had worked for the company, explaining the device to women when it first came on the market. . . . She was found to have celiac disease, a thyroid disorder and myasthenia gravis, illnesses that required multiple hospitalizations, chemotherapy and transfusions.

. . . Bayer continued to stand by the device, saying its safety “is supported by more than a decade of science, with more than 10,000 women studied.” . . . It estimates that a million Essure devices have been distributed around the world, about 60 percent of them in the United States.
