UK Hotels Must Switch to Single Rooms Only or Allow Homosexual Sex on Premises

From "UK Hotels Must Switch to Single Rooms Only or Allow Homosexual Sex on Premises" by Hilary White, posted 7/30/07 at Lifesite.org

In conflicts over same-sex couples staying in hotels run by religious believers, it is up to the owners to accommodate or close, the government says.

In April, the Labour government passed the Sexual Orientation Regulations of the Equality Act 2006, drafted under the supervision of homosexual lobbyists, that make it illegal for Christian and other religious objectors to homosexual behaviour to refuse business to gay clientele.

In the case of family owned bed and breakfast establishments, this requirement means that proprietors must allow homosexual partners to stay in the same room or be forced to close.

Today the government ruled that in cases where religious or other belief makes this situation impossible, the only choice is to entirely disallow any guests to sleep together, whether they are married couples or homosexual partners.

In a letter, Meg Munn, a junior minister in the Department for Communities and Local Government who held the equality remit under Tony Blair, said the rules mean that no business owner may refuse on any grounds whatever. She said the only choice is to change the business itself. The Telegraph quotes her saying that photographers with objections must switch to portrait photography, while a chauffer who did not want to drive for homosexuals must change jobs.

In related news, in a move praised by gay activists and socialists, the Brown government has created a new cabinet post, Secretary of State for Equalities, assigned to Harriet Harman, Leader of the Commons and Deputy Labour Leader. Harman is also Chair of the Labour Party and Minister for Women.

The Commons Leader website describes the purpose of the new post as being "to strengthen further the Government's ability to deliver across the entire equalities agenda. Harriet Harman will be responsible for the new Equalities Office at Cabinet level as Secretary of State."

In a speech during the London Pride in June, Harman told the crowd that the fight for "gay rights" is not over. "We all know that there is further to go, and that this is a day of determination too."

"We are going to have a new Commission for Equality and Human Rights that will mainstream the battle against homophobia. We are going to have new work in schools to tackle homophobia, more work within the police and the criminal justice system to prevent and deter homophobic crime. We have come long way but further got to go."

What does loyalty to Christ look like in this situation?

We Christians here in the United States do not have to wonder what lies down the road of 'gay rights' that our country seems bent on embracing. We have the opportunity to see exactly what will happen to our freedom by watching what's happening in Canada and the UK.

We have the opportunity to stop it...The question is, will we?

Will we recognize, value and fight to protect the incredible blessing of freedom we have? Will we elect the best leaders possible and then hold them accountable? Will we make it our business to be informed and speak up and challenge the foolishness and lies in the public square? Will we fight, if not for ourselves, then for future generations - before it's too late?

German Government Publication Promotes Incestuous Pedophilia

Advises fathers to devote more attention to their daughter's clitoris and vagina when caressing. "this is the only way girls can develop a sense of pride in their sex..."

From "German Government Publication Promotes Incestuous Pedophilia as Healthy Sex Ed" by John-Henry Westen, posted 7/30/07 at Lifesite.org

Booklets from a subsidiary of the German government's Ministry for Family Affairs encourage parents to sexually massage their children as young as 1 to 3 years of age. Two 40-page booklets entitled "Love, Body and Playing Doctor" by the German Federal Health Education Center (Bundeszentrale für gesundheitliche Aufklärung - BZgA) are aimed at parents - the first addressing children from 1-3 and the other children from 4-6 years of age.
"Fathers do not devote enough attention to the clitoris and vagina of their daughters. Their caresses too seldom pertain to these regions, while this is the only way the girls can develop a sense of pride in their sex," reads the booklet regarding 1-3 year olds. The authors rationalize, "The child touches all parts of their father's body, sometimes arousing him. The father should do the same."

Canadian author and public speaker Michael O'Brien who has written and spoken extensively about the crisis of culture in the West spoke to LifeSiteNews.com about the shocking and extremely disturbing phenomenon. It is, he said, "State-encouraged incest, which in most civilized societies is a crime." The development is, he suggests, a natural outcome of the rejection of the Judeo-Christian moral order.

"The imposed social revolution that has swept the western world is moving to a new stage as it works out the logical consequences of its view of man's value," said O'Brien. "It is merely obeying its strictly materialist philosophy of man. If man is no more than a creature created for pleasure or power. If he is no more than a cell in the social organism, then no moral standards, no psychological truths, no spiritual truths can refute the 'will to power' and the 'will to pleasure'."

The pamphlet advises parents to permit young children "unlimited masturbation" except where physical injury becomes apparent. It advises: "Children should learn that there is no such thing as shameful parts of the body. The body is a home, which you should be proud of." For ages 4-6, the booklet recommends teaching children the movements of copulation...

This is so sick it's hard to even believe it. A blog entry regarding this booklet has this to say:

German family minister ordered to withdraw BZgA brochure "Körper,
Liebe, Doktorspiele" in question. Moreover BZgA and the author of the
brochure are being sued for requesting child sexual abuse.

Milwaukee Gay Pride Leader Arrested for Seeking Sex with Minor

UPDATE 11/20/14: Obama Top Homosexual Arrested for Anal Sex with Boy

From "Sex sting catches contact for kid's event" posted 7/28/07 at Worldnetdaily.com

A Google cache of an Internet page for Milwaukee's homosexual "PrideFest" reveals that its outreach coordinator, now facing felony sex charges for allegedly trying to meet a 14-year-old boy, was the contact person for the event's children's attractions.

Authorities have reported David W. Bodoh, 42, of Wauwatosa, Wis., apparently made contact with a boy from Oconomowoc, and eventually set up a meeting with an undercover state agent who posed online as the child.

The boy's foster mother is said to have discovered explicit e-mails between her son and Bodoh in January, and contacted police.

But the cached page reveals Bodoh was the "contact" for events including "ComedySportz for Children," an event that was on the daily schedule twice, as well as "Kids' Story Time with Broad Vocabulary," which also was scheduled twice. He's listed as the only contact on the schedule that also includes a presentation from the Children's Service Society of Wisconsin, the LGBT History Project/Sage and the "Gender Non-Discrimination Presented by F.OR.G.E. & Center Advocates."

I am not nor would I EVER want to infer that most homosexual men are pedorasts. They are not.

However,
pederasty seems to be consistently linked to pro-gay activism. The Liberal Party of Canada supports lowering the age of consent for anal intercourse to 14, and the Netherlands now has a political party devoted to legalizing consensual pedophilia.

We should not be surprised. It was the widespread adoption of Christian values that elevated sexual mores regarding children. In ancient times pederasty was quite common. For instance it was not unusual for Greek men to have a wife for procreation and a boy for recreation.
Here in the United States there is an organized effort to normalize adult/child sex:
  • the 1972 Gay Rights Platform demanded abolishment of age of consent laws.
  • In Massachussetts mainstream homosexual activists have produced booklets for teens telling them that they have a "right to enjoy sex without shame or stigma."
  • A professor at the University of Minnesota has gone so far as to write a book questioning the idea that pedophilia is harmful to children. She suggests the threat of pedophilia and molestation by strangers is exaggerated by adults who want to deny young people the opportunity for positive sexual experiences.
  • We are all familiar with the aims of the North American Man Boy Love Association (NAMBLA)
Apparently once you start re-writing the 'rule book' it's hard to know where to stop...

UK Catholic Agency to Cease Adoption Work as Government Forces Homosexual Adoption

Christians are losing the freedom to even operate their own private ministries according to Biblical values...

From "UK Catholic Church Agency to Cease Adoption Work As Government Forces Homosexual Adoption" by Hilary White, posted7/27/07 at Lifesite.org

Catholic Care, a leading British Catholic adoption agency announced this week that it will cease operations in light of the recently imposed requirement that they must allow children to be adopted by homosexual partners. Catholic Care is the first of the religious social agencies to announce that it can no longer operate under the Sexual Orientation Regulations (SOR's) that proponents claimed would put an end to "discrimination" in the UK.

According to the Daily Mail, the agency, in operation for a century, announced that a vote of its trustees decided to end its services that had placed about 20 children a year into new families.

The decision from Catholic Care came a week after the Catholic bishop of Lancaster, Patrick O'Donoghue wrote a letter to Catholic Caring Services, an adoption charity in his diocese, saying that the needs of the child must come before the desire for parenthood.

...A similar decision was taken earlier by Boston Catholic Charities that ended its adoption services in March 2006 when the state of Massachusetts tried to force them to adopt children to homosexual partners.

In the end, Tony Blair, who was said to have been waffling on the issue, decreed that the Church, or any other group, would not be granted any exemptions but that an "adjustment period" would be granted for such bodies to come to terms with the new order.

There is no possible way for a Christian adoption agency to "adjust" to this.

...the God we serve is able to save us from it, and he will rescue us from your hand, O king. 18 But even if he does not, we want you to know, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up." -Daniel 3:16

Planned Parenthood to Open Abortion Clinic in Aurora

"This is a conservative community -- but teens are very sexually active. Anyone who is in contact with the school population recognizes the need." - Wendy Fegenhols, Illinois Caucus for Adolescent Health

From "Abortion Clinic Built Under the Radar" by ..."Frankly, I'm surprised we were able to keep it a secret for so long," said Steve Trombley, president and chief executive officer of Planned Parenthood/Chicago Area, carefully avoiding a freshly painted wall as he offered a tour of the facility. "We didn't want anything to interfere with the opening ... and, at this point, I don't anticipate anything will stop that from happening."

The $7.5 million facility at 240 N. Oakhurst Drive, in DuPage County, adjacent to a Dominick's, is scheduled to open Sept. 18. In the planning stages since 2002, it is Planned Parenthood's first full-service site in the Chicago area in 20 years and the only one to perform abortions outside of a Near North Side Chicago location. Private donors contributed $5 million toward its construction.

It would be the only clinic performing abortions in Aurora; another clinic closed last year after its doctor retired.

As of Thursday, not a single protester had appeared on the scene. But even at this late date, anti-abortion activists vow to create some hurdles to abortion in Aurora.

"It is not going to be possible to stop construction," conceded Ann Scheidler, executive director of the Pro-Life Action League. "It's probably more a matter of damage control at this point."

Scheidler said the league is bringing to town the executive director of the anti-abortion group STOPP, which seeks to shutter Planned Parenthood, to a strategy meeting scheduled for Aug. 16.

Avoiding builder boycotts

That the clinic was kept hush-hush for so long was no accident. Planned Parenthood adopted the strategy after a 2004 boycott by contractors stalled work for two months on a clinic in Austin, Texas. The boycott, organized by a concrete contractor, pressured subcontractors with being blacklisted from future employment. The contractor ended up quitting the job, and Planned Parenthood acted as its own general contractor to finish the facility.

Still, the tactic was heralded as a new economic tool in the arsenal of abortion foes.

As in Austin, word of the Aurora clinic was leaked to anti-abortion forces by a contractor, Scheidler said.

"He knew there was a recovery room. It was obviously a surgery center of some sort. I guess the bullet-proof glass and all the security, the security cameras, made him concerned," she said.

Aurora Councilman Chris Beykirch, who represents that part of the city, said he learned that Planned Parenthood was building the clinic only last week. The property was zoned for a medical/office building, however, so the city could not have blocked construction -- not that it should have tried, he said. He said he was disappointed that the agency felt it was necessary to be secretive.

The project appears to be full-steam ahead. A staff of 24 -- answering "help wanted" ads for an unnamed clinic -- is being hired. The sleek cabinetry and faux wood floors are in place. The airy examining and recovery rooms are almost complete. It has a large conference room where the employees can meet with civic groups.

"We want to introduce ourselves to the community ... rather than be defined by our adversaries," Trombley said.

Kendall County is the nation's second-fastest-growing county, increasing by 62 percent from April 2000 to July 2006, according to U.S. Census Bureau data released last month. "This is a medically underserved area," Trombley said.

The full-service Chicago clinic is 35 miles away, a significant hurdle for Aurora's low-income and uninsured population.

"This is a conservative community -- but teens are very sexually active," said Wendy Fegenhols, who recently retired from the DuPage County Health Department and serves on the Illinois Caucus for Adolescent Health. "Anyone who is in contact with the school population recognizes the need."

Teens need something all right - but it's not contraceptives and an abortion clinic. They need adults to encourage them towards honor and purity.

UK: Anglicans to be Fined for Refusing to Hire Homosexual as Youth Worker

From "Homosexual Man Wins "Landmark" "Discrimination" Case Against Church of England" by Hilary White, 7/18/07, posted at Lifesite.org

Homosexual activist groups are hailing as a "landmark" the decision against the Church of England by a Welsh employment tribunal in favour of a homosexual man claiming discrimination based on his sexual orientation.

The gay lobby group Stonewall gave financial and legal backing to a complaint by 42 year-old John Reaney, an active homosexual who had applied for the position of youth director for the diocese of Hereford.

Despite the fact that the Sexual Orientation Regulations contain an "exemption" for religious groups, the tribunal found that Mr. Reaney had been discriminated against. Reaney now stands to receive substantial financial compensation from the diocese.

Right Rev. Anthony Priddis, the Anglican Bishop of Hereford had declined to hire Reaney, saying the man had admitted to engaging in sexual activity outside of marriage during a five year long relationship, a clear violation of the Christian doctrines of chastity to which the Anglican Communion officially adheres.

Religious bodies, including the Church of England, warned last year that the right to religious expression would be severely restricted when the Sexual Orientation Regulations passed in April.

Bishop Priddis said during his testimony that he had made it clear that the issue was not Reaney's sexual "orientation" but simply that sexual activity of any sort outside marriage would be grounds for not being hired.

The Bishop said, "Such sexuality in itself was not an issue but Mr Reaney's lifestyle had the potential to impact on the spiritual, moral and ethical leadership within the diocese."

The employment tribunal's judgment is the first instance under the new regulations where religious bodies must comply with secularist sexual doctrine over and above their religious beliefs.

UK: 14 Year Old Girl Arrested After Requesting Move to Class with Students Who Speak English

From "Looney England Again - UK Police Increasingly Used as Thought Police to Enforce Political Correctness" by Hilary White, posted 7/26/07 at LifeSite.org

...In October 2006, the Daily Mail reported that a 14-year-old school girl, Codie Stott, was arrested by police and detained in a cell for three hours after she asked to be moved into a group of students who spoke English in class. Stott was denounced to police for "racism" by her teachers at Harrop Fold High School in Worsley, Greater Manchester.

Codie told police that she had been placed in a group of five students who would or could not discuss the class work in English. When she asked to be moved to another group with whom she could communicate, the teacher responded, "It's racist, you're going to get done by the police." A week after the incident she was taken to Swinton police station under arrest. Codie told the Daily Mail, "They told me to take my laces out of my shoes and remove my jewellery, and I had my fingerprints and photograph taken."

In May this year, a shopkeeper in Manchester was threatened with prosecution under the race hate statutes if she did not remove a number of soft toys that some consider racist in origin. Moira Pickering, 62, was told by police to get rid of her stock of traditional English dolls called "gollywogs". Gollywogs, based on a children's literary character created by Florence Kate Upton, have been a staple of British children's toys since the late 19th century.

Pickering told the Daily Mail, "I find sex shops offensive, I find cabbage patch dolls offensive, but I wouldn't report them. Golliwogs have been going for years and I've always sold them. They sell very well. People are far too politically correct they go over the top."

In early April this year, a father of a ten-year-old boy was astounded when two police officers arrived at his Cheshire home to question his son for calling another boy "gay" in an email.

"I could not believe what I was hearing," Alan Rawlinson, aged 41, told media. "They told me they considered it a very serious offence. I thought they were joking at first… [T]his just seemed a huge waste of resources for something so trivial. I am furious about what has happened, it just seems the politically correct brigade are taking over."

"If somebody had called the police about something like this in my day they would have laughed - they certainly wouldn't have sent two officers out. It is completely ridiculous."

Hononegah, IL: Parents Oppose Formation of Gay Club for Teens

From "Hot debate at Hononegah" by Ashley Rhodebeck, posted 7/25/07 at BeloitDailyNews.com

Just one person from the 50-plus crowd gathered in Hononegah High School's library Monday advocated for the proposed student club called the Gay-Straight Alliance.

Teacher Cathy Aubrecht, who submitted the request, was the lone warrior against voice after voice asserting the organization will disrupt the educational process and promote immoral views.

Meanwhile, the Board of Education's co-curricular committee didn't provide an opinion or recommendation to the full board. Instead, members just asked questions and, after the public hearing was complete, expressed they felt “overloaded” with information.

The committee scheduled the meeting so Aubrecht could expand on her brief proposal dated May 14 but also received legal information and comments from 18 community members.

No Hononegah students spoke publicly, though what looked like a few teens were among the crowd.

“It's summertime,” Aubrecht said of their absence.

Aubrecht began the proceedings by explaining she proposed the Gay-Straight Alliance because a student with “great rationale” approached her saying such a club is needed to provide a network of support to homosexuals and those who are related to or are friends with gays and lesbians.

Diversity clubs, such as the now defunct Promoting Awareness Creates Tolerance, focus mainly on racial issues while neglecting homosexual ones, Aubrecht said. Creating a gay-lesbian subcommittee of PACT also wouldn't work, she said, explaining that giving it a neutral-sounding name will give into the prejudices the Gay-Straight Alliance intends to stop.

Although Aubrecht stressed the club would offer support to students and said it wouldn't discuss sex, many of the parents feared the organization will promote sexual activity among teens.

One citizen even argued because the state's age of consent is 17 it is illegal for minors to engage in sexual activity. Therefore, she said, the school, as an agency of Illinois, would appear to condone and promote illegal activity.

“This is no chess club you're putting together,” said Steve Branch, a Roscoe resident who urged the board members to be picky in selecting the club's advisor if the group is approved. The advisor, he and other parents said, should be trained to handle issues that might arise in the club.

Lora Sue Hauser, a representative from the Illinois Family Institute, cited research that asserts 75 percent of boys who label themselves gay as teens become straight in adulthood. It would be “educationally irresponsible,” she said, for the school to endorse homosexuality.

How refreshing! Parents standing together to protect their children...

It's not clear what legal chance they have to keep a GSA from forming but God bless them for taking responsibility and speaking up! If nothing else, it sends the message to educators that the parents in this district are paying attention, and it's not acceptable to teach these children that homosexual behavior is OK...

Ft. Lauderdale Mayor Under Fire for Trying to End 'Cruising' in Public Restrooms

From "Fort Lauderdale mayor criticized following 'apology" by Brittany Wallman, posted 7/25/07 at Sun-sentinel.com

They said Broward County will never be the same. They said history was made.

Hundreds of people descended on City Hall on Tuesday to denounce Mayor Jim Naugle for his record of inflammatory comments, most recently about gays. A line of Broward leaders in government, civil rights, gay rights and religion took the stage, saying it was important to let the world know that Naugle doesn't speak for the entire county, or even the city.

"Mayor Naugle speaks only for one very small person: himself," said County Commissioner Stacy Ritter, one of three county commissioners who spoke.

Momentum has grown quickly against the 16-year mayor since he was quoted in the South Florida Sun-Sentinel on July 4 about a $250,000 self-cleaning toilet the city planned — and later nixed — for the beach. The mayor said one thing he liked about the robotic commode was its security features — the free-standing toilet would deter "homosexual activity," he said.

Naugle said public restrooms are plagued by gay sex in Fort Lauderdale, even though police said it's not a problem. He also said he doesn't use the term "gay" because homosexuals are "unhappy."

Naugle didn't attend Tuesday's rally, but he staged his own news conference earlier in the day. After sending an invitation to the media to come hear a brief speech "including an apology," he announced on City Hall's steps that Broward leads the nation in new AIDS cases resulting from men having sex with men, and said the county should "examine" whether to continue inviting gay tourists to "come on down."

He also apologized.

"I want to apologize to the children and parents of our community for not being aware of the problem," he said, explaining that he found Web sites advising gays to "cruise" for sex in two city park restrooms.

"I apologize for not bringing this forward earlier," he said. "Maybe some lives could have been saved."

County Property Appraiser Lori Parrish, a lifetime Fort Lauderdale resident like Naugle, said he was "spewing hate" and giving the wrong impression that the county doesn't welcome gays.

This is the same mayor who voted against approval for a new homosexual library that will contain hard core porn.

I don’t think it’s coincidental that Ft. Lauderdale is also the home of Coral Ridge Church...

A strong church can have a fantastic influence on a community. People are less afraid to challenge nonsense when they have support. If the Church weren’t so weak I think we’d have 1000 more like him.

Please pray for him...

Shutting Down Free Speech

From "Shutting Down Free Speech" by Chuck Colson, posted 7/25/07 at Breakpoint.org

It doesn't pay to take your constitutional right to free speech seriously anymore—at least, not if you live in Oakland, California. There, a handful of African-American Christian women recently found out that their free speech rights had effectively been outlawed.

The women, who are Oakland government employees, had formed an organization called the Good News Employee Association. As their flyer put it, their group was, "A forum for people of Faith to express their views on the contemporary issues of the day. With Respect for the Natural Family, Marriage, and Family Values."

As columnist George Will relates, the women posted their flyer after other employee groups, including those advocating gay rights, had advertised their activities on the city's email system and bulletin board. When Good News asked for equal opportunity, they were told to forget it. City officials destroyed their flyer. They accused the women of Good News of being "determined to promote harassment based on sexual orientation. If the women posted any more flyers, or sent their message via email, the city warned, they would be disciplined and perhaps terminated.

In effect, as Will notes, Oakland "has proscribed any speech that even one person might say questioned the gay rights agenda and therefore created what that person felt was a "hostile environment." While homosexual rights groups used the city's email system to advertise "Happy Coming Out Day," the terms "natural family" and "marriage" and "family values" are considered intolerably inflammatory, he adds.

This is why so-called "hate crimes" laws, like the one being considered by the U.S. Congress, are so dangerous. They can be used as a weapon to censor peaceful political speech that someone doesn't like. The goal of homosexual groups is not to stop violence, or truly hateful speech; it's to silence anyone who says that homosexual behavior is a biological disorder or a moral wrong. Mere disagreement is redefined as hate.

The Good News group has gone to court over Oakland's attack on their First Amendment rights, and the super-liberal Ninth Circuit Court, not surprisingly, has ruled against them. The group now hopes the Supreme Court will intervene.

You and I need to be aware of attempts to encroach on our right to speak out against moral evils. We must also understand that this is ultimately a spiritual battle.

The Bible and natural law teachings tell us that God's law is written upon our hearts and are known to all. As Christian philosopher J. Budziszewski writes in his book, The Revenge of Conscience, those who rationalize their sins find it to be so much work that they require other people to support them in it. Society itself must be transformed so that it no longer stands in awful judgment.

In other words, pro-gay ideology is too fragile to 'tolerate' free speech.

If we Christians stand idly by and allow hate crimes and the anti-discrimination bill (ENDA) to become law, in the words of Rob Gagnon, we "invite our own oppression."

This is an issue God has been so clear about that compromise is not possible for us. A Christian must discriminate against sinful behavior and cannot "call evil good..." (Isaiah 5:20)

MySpace Finds 29K Sex Offenders

From " MySpace finds 29K sex offenders" by Gary D. Robertson, posted 7/25/07 at News-Record.com

MySpace.com has found more than 29,000 registered sex offenders with profiles on the popular social networking Web site — more than four times the number cited by the company two months ago, North Carolina officials said Tuesday.

North Carolina's Roy Cooper is one of several attorneys general who recently demanded the News Corp.-owned Web site provide data on how many registered sex offenders were using the popular social networking site, along with information about where they live.

After initially withholding the information, citing federal privacy laws, MySpace began sharing the information in May after the states filed formal legal requests.

At the time, MySpace said it had already used a database it helped create to remove about 7,000 profiles of sex offenders, out of a total of about 180 million profiles on the site.

Two MySpace spokeswomen did not immediately return calls seeking comment Tuesday.

Maryland State School Board Favors Gay Agenda Over Children's Safety

From "Maryland State School Board Advances Sexual Perversity Above Children's Safety" by PFOX, posted at Familypolicy.net

In its ruling last week regarding a controversial sexuality curriculum in Montgomery County, the Maryland State Board of Education (MBOE) has implicitly authorized local school boards to promote “sexual diversity” to students and teach about anal sex while excluding warnings of the medical dangers pertaining to such practices.

Both the MBOE and Montgomery County School Board rejected a petition from 270 local medical doctors to include warning about anal sex critical to student safety as issued by the Office of the Surgeon General and National Institutes of Health.

The MBOE has also ruled that Maryland schools may teach questioning and confused students that homosexuality is “innate”, a controversial and unproven theory advanced by gay advocacy groups serving on the Montgomery County School Board’s curriculum advisory committee.

Thereby virtually condemning confused kids to a future of physical, mental and ultimately eternal destruction because they've been told they were born homosexual...

San Diego Officially Declares July "Gay Pride Month"

Parades...Baseball games...Now, Gay Pride MONTH? Whatever it is, it's never enough...

As Chuck Colson has observed, it's so much work to rationalize sin that it requires societal support.

From "San Diego Officially Declares July "Gay Pride Month" by Elizabeth O'brien, posted 7/20/07 at LifeSite.org

At a hearing on July 17, the Mayor and City Council unanimously declared July 2007 to be Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Pride Month in the City of San Diego.

Despite the organized efforts of approximately 40 people who protested at the meeting, the city council unanimously voted in favor of the recent bill proposal by Mayor Jerry Sanders, Council President Scott Peters, and lesbian council member Toni Atkins.

During the hearing, Council President Scott Peters gave an unfair time advantage to homosexual representatives, the James Hartline Report (JHR) alleges. Each side of the debate was supposed to have 15 minutes speaking time. Former homosexual activist James Hartline was only allowed to speak for 5 minutes and 2 seconds by the clock, with Peters claiming that Hartline had used up the full amount. In addition, while many homosexual advocates were called on to speak, none of the opposition members were called upon until Peters was challenged on this point.

Priscilla Schreiber, President of Grossmont Unified High School District, told the council, "How can you betray this city's Christian heritage by voting every year for an event that destroys our youth?" She continued, "How can you honor an organization that has a history of hiring pedophiles?" Looking directly at Councilman Brian Maienschein, Schreiber stated, "Councilman Maienschein, I stood with you at the foot of the Mt. Soledad Cross. I ask you to search your soul as to what you have become. Why are you betraying your previously professed Christianity for a political agenda that is destroying our kids?"

Schreiber told LifeSiteNews.com that the homosexual movement, influenced by Hollywood and backed by huge amounts of money, relentlessly pushes forward new bills, about 25 each year. "They're going to rewrite our text-books and come down against the Church," Schreiber continued. "The new bills push homosexuality in businesses, churches, through freedom of speech…across the board."

Schreiber further explained to LifeSiteNews.com, "The Christian conservative movement goes out for a battle then goes home. This movement never goes home. They relentlessly try to cram new legislation down our throats. Even in the Church people are being led away by the idea, 'just let them live their lives'. The passivity is gut-wrenching. Young families don't care what their kids are getting exposed to."

Although homosexuals are the minority, she continued, "What I would say is that they are winning the battle of influence. Politicians have been told 'don't go there if you want to save your political status'. They just compromise and start protecting what's political correctness."

Although the Republican Party platform includes support for the traditional definition of marriage, all three of the Republican council members voted in favor of Gay Pride Month.

Cindy Seiger, Director of Concerned Women for America's Southern Counties, who was also present at the hearing, sent this statement to LifeSiteNews.com: "Contrary to the use of familiar mantras like "hate", "bigotry" and "intolerance" by 'Pride' supporters, the Christian community is none of these. Our desire would be for homosexuals to understand that their validation does not come from a weekend (or month) of sexually-charged events. It comes from a Creator who loves them and wants them to live as He designed them to live. The real issue is what we will accept as appropriate public conduct in our community and what we will accept as beneficial to our society and our children."

More that 85% of Men Arrested for Child Porn Admit to Molesting at Least One Child

From "US Prison Bureau Suppresses Study Strongly Linking Child Pornography to Child Molesters" by Peter J. Smith, posted 7/20/07 at LifeSite.org

The Federal Prison Bureau has a new study indicating that 85% of convicted consumers of child pornography may have sexually molested a child. However the New York Times reports that the federal agency has suppressed the publication of the report out of concern that the public will misinterpret its conclusions.

The Times reports that the unpublished research was conducted by psychologists at the Federal Bureau of Prisons and that it constitutes the first in-depth survey done by prison therapists of online sexual offenders' history - everything from indecent touching to rape. The therapists were actively performing treatment.

The report was to be published in the Journal of Family Violence until Judy Garrett, an official with the Prison Bureau, requested in April that it be withdrawn saying the report did not meet "agency approval."

"We believe it unwise to generalize from limited observations gained in treatment or in records review to the broader population of persons who engage in such behavior," states a letter from a bureau official obtained by the Times.

A draft of the paper obtained by the Times show the study was conducted by two psychologists, Andres E. Hernandez and Michael L. Bourke, and surveyed 155 male inmates at the Federal Correctional Institution in Butner, North Carolina. All these prisoners were serving sentences for either possession or distribution of child pornography.

The psychologists then made a shocking discovery. More than 85 percent of these men admitted to sexually molesting at least one child, far exceeding the 26 percent known to have committed these offenses at the time of sentencing. In the end, the 75 known sexual crimes perpetrated against children became 1,777: a more than 20-fold increase from the time of sentencing.

One anonymous Canadian prisoner serving a 14 year sentence explained to the Times how viewing child pornography would lead him to sexually molest children:

"Because there is no way I can look at a picture of a child on a video screen and not get turned on by that and want to do something about it," he said. "I knew that in my mind. I knew that in my heart. I didn't want it to happen, but it was going to happen."

The Power of Graphic Abortion Images

From "Fr. Frank Pavone on the Power of Graphic Abortion Images" posted 7/20/07 at LifeSite.org

Comments by Fr. Frank Pavone during March for Life 2007 Youth Conference in Ottawa Canada:

Let me leave for you what I am convinced is the most powerful tool to change someone's mind about abortion.

I told you that I had been involved in this since I was your age, been working on this fulltime across the world, worked with the Holy Father, and Mother Teresa and all these people, worked with the pro-life movement on every level. There is no single thing that I have seen more powerful to change people on abortion than simply showing them the pictures.

Show them what it looks like. I have challenged the media over and over again. Show the public what an abortion is because we can justify anything with our language. If you are a smooth talker, if you know how to manipulate language and logic - you can convince anyone of anything. But pictures, that is another story.

When people see what abortion does to a baby, they are stung to the heart and their consciences are awakened. I am not just talking about showing pictures of the baby living in the womb. People understand, by and large, that this is a baby in the womb. Now, they will be very surprised at how much the baby looks like a baby, so early in pregnancy when they do see the pictures, the ultrasound or other ways that we have of viewing the child. Many people will be very surprised to see how well-developed that baby is. But, even if you show them the baby, that still doesn't tell them what abortion does to the baby. That is a big difference.

Some people think abortion just makes the baby kind of disappear. They still don't appreciate that it is an act of violence. It is only the pictures of the aborted children, torn apart, limb for limb that convince people that abortion is an act of violence.

Now, at my website, we have one of the largest collection of these pictures - it is priestforlife.org.

Right on the front we have a statement on our front page that says, "America will not reject abortion until America sees abortion." And that is true for every country. Canada will not reject abortion until Canadians see it and you can make that happen.

You have somebody who disagrees with you on abortion - just ask them one simple question, "Have you ever seen one?" And you know what a lot of people will say - "Oh, no, no I don't have to see one but I am pro-choice." Ya, and you are also scared, you are also a coward. You think something should be allowed and you don't even have the courage to look at what you are allowing. You think something should be legal and you don't even have the courage to look at it in the face.

Show people, challenge them and let me tell you - as I get emails every day - you will hear people say, "I was 100% pro-choice until I saw those pictures." We get emails everyday saying that the people who went to our website and saw the pictures of the babies began to cry and in a minute, they moved from being 100% pro-abortion to being 100% pro-life.

There isn't anything more effective - there are all kinds of other things that we need to do, I am not saying that this is the only thing for us to do - I am saying, use this powerful tool. It will convert people, it will make people who are already pro-life more ready to devote themselves to this cause and it will make people who are scheduled to have an abortion, change their minds in an instant.

It is powerful.

Domestic Partnership Granted to Same-Sex Couples in Washington State

Same-sex "marriage" the next major goal

From "Domestic Partnership Granted to Homosexual Couples in Washington State" by Elizabeth O'brien, posted 7/23/07 at LifeSite.org

Today a new domestic partnership law goes into effect in Washington State. The law allows homosexual couples to enjoy many of the legal benefits and protections of heterosexual marriage.

The legislation gives homosexual couples hospital visitation rights, organ donation authorization, and inheritance in the absence of a will, the Associated Press (AP) reports. The stipulations include that both members must be above 18 years of age, unmarried and live together in a home.

The bill also extends to heterosexual couples as well if one member is 62-years or older. In order to obtain the status, which costs only $50 USD, couples must file an affidavit with the Washington Secretary of State's office.

Indian "Genocide" of Girls by Abortion Exposed in New Book "Disappearing Daughters"

Wealth and education and appear to make it MORE likely that people will kill their daughters. Valuing human life is a distinctly Christian value. We discard Biblical values at our own peril...

From "Indian "Genocide" of Girls by Abortion Exposed in New Book "Disappearing Daughters" by Hilary White, posted 7/23/07 at Lifesite.org

Unwanted girl babies in India are killed after birth by a variety of methods including being smothered with a pillow or cloth, drowned in milk, fed poisoned seeds or burned alive in sealed mud pots; but according to a recently published book, the most popular form of femicide is now abortion, with the assistance of ultrasound to determine the child's sex.

"Disappearing Daughters", a new book by an Indian woman journalist, Gita Aravamudhan, published by Penguin Books, calls "female foeticide" "an organized crime."

"The ultrasound machine has mutated into an instrument of murder," she said. Aravamudhan writes in the preface that the book started as a journalistic "story" like any other, but soon escalated into the biggest issue she had ever investigated. "Female infanticide is akin to serial killing. But female foeticide was more like a holocaust. A whole gender is getting exterminated."

A recent report by UNICEF said India kills almost 7,000 girls per day by abortion. Recent statistics show that the population of India is heavily weighted towards males with only 927 females for every 1,000 males, a contrast from the usual 1050 females in other countries. UK-based medical journal, the Lancet estimates the number of girls killed by abortion in India at 10 million over the last 20 years.

It is a silent and smoothly executed crime," Aravamudhan writes, "which leaves no waves in its wake. It is happening while we, as a nation, slumber. In some parts of the country almost two generations of women have been exterminated before I completed this book and there is still no solution in sight."

In an interview with The Hindu, Aravamudhan, described as a writer on "gender" issues for 27 years, said she was shocked to find that female "foeticide" was most common among the wealthy and well educated.

"Foeticide happened among the rich, the powerful, the educated; those who were aware of family planning!…There was a deep link between female foeticide and factors like wealth, education, success of family planning, and medical progress," she said.

With most international aid organisations working in India pushing abortion and smaller families, a book such as this contrasts with official government-sponsored population control campaigns. LifeSiteNews.com editor John Henry Westen, during a trip to India last year, reported that even among the strongly Catholic Christian population of Kerala, small families are considered "moral."

Westen interviewed Sunny Kattukaran, the leader of a pro-life group in India known as Trust God (Pro-Life) Ministry, who laid the blame squarely on western-based population control movements.

"The Americans, the UN and other funding agents, when they release some funds as loans they ask our statistics on birth control, and insist on family planning criteria, only then do they pump money," Kattukaran said.

It also looks like health clinics are participating in the genocide by killing newborn baby girls...

HBO Stoops to New Low

When critics asked if the sex scenes [in HBO's new show, Tell Me You Love Me] were faked or real, actress Michelle Borth became suddenly defensive. “We are not porn stars. We're actors,” she harrumphed.

From "The Latest Shock and Awe " by L. Brent Bozell III, posted 7/23/07 at CultureandMediaInstitute.org

...HBO, long honored as the leading grenade launcher in TV’s culture wars, is now lowering itself into pornography in a show called Tell Me You Love Me. The series deals with the personal relationships and sex lives of four committed couples – in their 20s, 30s, 40s, and even in their 60s. Jane Alexander, the actress whose prominent recent role was serving as head of the National Endowment for the Arts under Bill Clinton, plays the therapist for the younger couples, and doubles as half of the 60-something couple in the graphic sex scenes.

How jarring is the sex going to be? Washington Post TV critic Lisa DeMoraes praised the first episode for its “tour de force masturbation performance in the opening scene.” In the Los Angeles Times, Scott Collins described the ending of that episode: “the climax, if you will, of the first episode finds a woman in her 30s masturbating her husband to orgasm, with the entire act and all relevant body parts plainly visible.”

When critics asked if the sex scenes were faked or real, actress Michelle Borth became suddenly defensive. “We are not porn stars. We're actors,” she harrumphed. It’s the tired line of the avant-garde elites: it’s not pornography, it’s “art.” But even if the sex is simulated, the HBO actors’ drawn-out graphic scenes of bed-pounding action serve only one purpose: to arouse the viewer. These actors are porn stars.

Democratic Candidates Trying to Reach Religious Voters

From "Democratic candidates trying to reach religious voters" by Claire Brinberg, posted 7/23/07 at CNN.com

Tired of being seen by religious voters as too secular or even hostile toward religion, the Democrat party and its presidential candidates have launched an all-out effort to win their votes.

This effort is apparent on the stump, where many of the Democratic candidates speak openly of religion and God and present moral justifications for their policies. It's also going on behind the scenes, with presidential campaigns hiring strategists to coordinate their outreach to religious communities and holding weekly conference calls with religious leaders.

"It has to be authentic. This is not about Jesus-ing up the party, so to speak ... It just won't work if it's seen as a cynical ploy," said Mara Vanderslice, a Democratic strategist and evangelical Christian.

In 2004, Vanderslice was hired to coordinate John Kerry's religious outreach. She found herself working without a staff or much of a budget. She says the Kerry campaign failed to engage the faith community before it was too late to make a difference.

In the past, "there was almost a joke that you couldn't be a Christian and be a Democrat," she said.

Many voters wouldn't disagree with the joke, according to recent polling. In the 2006 midterm elections, 53 percent of weekly churchgoers voted Republican, as did 60 percent of people who attend church more than once a week, according to exit poll data. What's more, a Pew Forum poll taken just before the election showed only 26 percent of voters considered Democrats friendly to religion.

The leading Democratic presidential candidates are trying to overcome this so-called "God Gap." Video Democratic candidates not shy about religion »

"They want to pull away even several percentage points of religious people who up to now have voted Republican," said Michael Cromartie, who studies religion and politics at the Ethics and Public Policy Center in Washington. "Remember, just a few percentage points in any number of states can change an election."

Senator Hillary Clinton has talked about how faith saw her through the turmoil of Bill Clinton's infidelity and political difficulties. Senator John Edwards openly speaks of his "deep and abiding love for [his] Savior, Jesus Christ." Senator Barack Obama has long woven the language of religion into his call for shared responsibility and social justice.

Even bigger changes have taken place behind the scenes.
Clinton and Obama have both hired strategists to coordinate faith outreach. Obama also has a faith point person in each of the three early voting states of Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina. His campaign held a series of "Faith, Action, Change" forums with New Hampshire voters and hosts weekly conference calls for religious leaders.

Christianity: The Foundation for Women's Rights

From the book "How Christianity Changed the World" by Alvin Schmidt, (Zondervan, 2004), 93,94

What would be the status of women in the Western world today had Jesus Christ never entered the human arena? One way to answer this question is to look at the status of women in most present-day Islamic countries. Here women are still denied many rights that are available to men, and when they appear in public, they must be veiled. In Saudi Arabia, for instance, women are even barred from driving an automobile. In the summer of 1999, news reports revealed that women are forbidden to wear lipstick, and if they do they can be arrested and jailed. Whether in Saudi Arabia or in many other Arab countries where the Islamic religion is adhered to strongly, a man has the right to beat and sexually desert his wife, all with the full support of the Koran, which says "Men stand superior to women...But those whose perverseness ye fear, admonish them and remove them into bedchambers and beat them; but if they submit to you then do not seek a way against them" (Sura 4:34). This command is the polar opposite of what the New Testament says regarding a man's relationship with his wife. St. Paul told the Christians in Ephesus, "Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her." And he added, "He who loves his wife loves himself." (Ephesians 5:25, 28).

The high and honorable marital ethic set forth cannot be found in the pagan literature of the Greco-Romans or the cultures of other societies. The civil and humane behavior that is expected between husband and wife today, even by secularly minded people, reflects the sea change effect Christ has had on the lives of women and on marriage, especially in the West.

One scholar of ancient Rome has aptly said that "the conversion of the Roman world to Christianity (brought) a great change in woman's status." Another has expressed it even more succinctly: "The birth of Jesus was the turning point in the history of woman."

Introducing the Thought Police

The Kennedy Hate Crimes Amendment will do nothing to curb crime against LGBT people, but will eventually be used to outlaw speech against the gay agenda.

From "Introducing the Thought Police" by Chuck Colson, posted 7/16/07 at Breakpoint.org

Never judge a book by its cover, so goes the old expression. But what’s true about books is even more true about legislation. For example, a bill pending before the Senate is titled the “Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2007.” Since few people want to promote “hate crimes,” preventing hate crimes sounds like a laudable goal. Right?

Not if you read what’s between the covers: The title of this bill ought to be the “Thought Control Act of 2007.”

I told “BreakPoint” listeners and readers about the bill when it was pending before the House. Unfortunately, that bill passed the House and now faces Senate ratification—this time, in typical Washington fashion, as an amendment tacked on to the National Defense Authorization Act.

The law is just as dangerous now as it was then.

This bill would give the federal government jurisdiction over local criminal offenses believed to be “motivated by prejudice.” Not just any prejudice, mind you, but prejudice based on “race, color, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability of the victim.”

Watch those phrases sexual orientation and gender identity, because they tell you which groups are pushing hardest for this bill. The committee rejected amendments that would include other groups, like veterans, the homeless, and senior citizens.

That still leaves us with “why?” Do crimes against homosexuals go unpunished? Are people free to attack gays with impunity?

Of course not. There are already laws against assaults on people and property. Moreover, according to the FBI, crimes against homosexuals in the United States have dropped dramatically. In 2005, out of 863,000 cases of aggravated assault, just 177 cases were crimes of bias against homosexuals—far less than 1 percent.

For the bill’s supporters, it is not enough to walk down the street in complete safety. Nor is it enough to be able to work and live wherever you please. Like the state song of Kansas, they want a place where “seldom is heard a discouraging word” about homosexuality.

See, the bill is not about crime prevention or even civil rights. It’s about outlawing peaceful speech—speech that asserts that homosexual behavior is morally wrong. That’s why the House judiciary committee rejected an amendment stipulating that nothing in this law would limit the religious freedom of any person or group under the Constitution.

The Kennedy Hate Crimes Amendment will have to be ratified by the Senate before becoming part of the National Defense Authorization Act but please voice your opinion to your senators. Call the Senate switchboard at 202-224-3121 and ask to be connected to their office.

You don't have to say much when you call - although you can if you like. It can be as simple as "Please tell Senator ___________ that I strongly oppose the Kennedy Hate Crimes amendment." That's it. It's that simple.

Christians Arrested for Praying at Gay Festival

Cops call holding Bibles while lying prostrate 'disturbing peace.'

From "Now praying gets 7 Christians arrested" by Bob Unruh, posted 7/7/07 at WorldNetDaily.com

Christians have been arrested recently at "gay" festivals for nothing more than having a protest sign that is "wider than their torso," but now police have gone even further, targeting Bible-carrying ministers for praying on public property and for standing on a public sidewalk near a "gay" festival.

One of the new cases comes from Elmira, N.Y., where police arrested seven Christians who went into a public park where a "gay" fest was beginning and started to pray, faces down, while holding their Bibles.

They were cited for "disturbing the peace," and Assistant Police Chief Mike Robertson told WND that the seven are accused of a "combination" of allegations under that statute, which includes the "intent" to cause a public inconvenience, any "disturbance" of a meeting of persons, obstructing vehicular or pedestrian traffic, or taking part in "any act that serves no legitimate purpose."

The second such case arose in Wichita, Kan., where police arrested Spirit One Christian Center Pastor Mark Holick, who had received permission earlier from officers to be on the public sidewalk adjacent to the park where the festival was occurring but then was arrested doing exactly that.

Julian Raven, a street preacher, told WND his group of seven assembled to pray for three hours the night before Elmira's recent "pride" festival in promotion of the homosexual lifestyle.

"We have a legal right to be at an event held in a public square. We're not a hate group," he said. "We're Christians and we're going to be there to pray."

He said he contacted police, who told him he had no free speech rights in the public park.

Ultimately gay rights ideology is so fragile, it cannot tolerate freedom of speech...

Lesbian Partner Listed as Parent on Baby's Birth Certificate

From "Lesbian Partner Granted Parental Status" posted 7/17/07, at CitizenLink.org

An Oregon woman whose lesbian partner gave birth will be listed on the child's birth certificate as the second parent, The Oregonian reported.

Multnomah County Circuit Judge Eric Bloch ruled Friday that Jeana Frazzini has a legal right to be declared the second parent. K.D. Parman, who conceived by artificial insemination, is the birth mother.

In his ruling, Bloch said the state constitution does not allow same-sex marriage, therefore does not provide a remedy for same-sex parents.

Oregon lawmakers passed a domestic-partnership law this year that will take effect Jan. 1. Bloch said that would solve the so-called inequity.

Marylin Brooks, a former state senator and spokeswoman for Defense of Marriage and Family, said Bloch had to "reach way out there" to justify his ruling.

"They have a remedy," she said. "All they have to do is adopt the child."

Defense of Marriage and Family is collecting signatures in Oregon to place a measure on the 2008 ballot challenging the domestic-partnership law.

Organ Harvesting Before "Brain-Death" Increasingly Common, Concerned Doctors Warn

Warning that changing definition of death will eventually lead to organ harvesting from disabled

From "Organ Harvesting Before "Brain-Death" Increasingly Common, Concerned Doctors Warn" by Gudrun Schultz, posted 3/21/07 at LifeSite.org

Organ harvesting from patients before brain-death has been declared as a rapidly increasing trend in U. S. hospitals, the Washington Post reported March 18, alarming doctors and ethicists about the dubious ethics behind the practice.

Instead of waiting until brain function ceases and the patient is declared "brain-dead" by medical officials (itself a questionable practice since there is no universally-accepted definition of brain-death) surgeons have begun following an approach known as "donation after cardiac death." Organs are harvested once the heart has stopped beating and several minutes have passed without the heart spontaneously re-starting.

"The person is not dead yet," said Jerry A. Menikoff, an associate professor
of law, ethics and medicine at the University of Kansas. "They are going to
be dead, but we should be honest and say that we're starting to remove the
organs a few minutes before they meet the legal definition of death."

"Non-beating heart" organ donations have more than doubled since 2003, from 268 to more than 605 in 2006, and the numbers are continuing to rise. The United Network for Organ Sharing and the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations now require all hospitals to evaluate the practice and decide whether or not to adopt it.

The Alliance for Human Research Protection issued an alert Sunday warning that the policy is under consideration by hospitals without allowing for public input.

"The race to catch-up to China's policy of live vivisection organ removal from prisoners is underway right here in the US where, the Post reports, the trend is expected to accelerate this year," the AHRP stated.

"So far as we know, our right to informed consent--which means the right to
say, NO--has been abrogated without so much as a public hearing!"

While doctors normally wait five minutes after the heart has stopped before pronouncing death, more and more doctors are shortening the wait period to maximize the quality of the organs. Surgeons at the Children's Hospital in Denver, Colorado wait only 75 seconds after infants' hearts stop beating before removing the heart for transplant, according to the Post. The demand for usable organs is a powerful incentive to push back the ethical boundaries of harvesting policies, say alarmed physicians.

"A lot of us are not particularly happy about cutting that line particularly
close," said Gail A. Van Norman, an anesthesiologist and bioethicist at the
University of Washington in Seattle.

"It's worrisome when you stop thinking of the person who is dying as a patient but rather as a set of organs, and start thinking more about what's best for the patient in the next room waiting for the organs."

While the National Academy of Sciences' Institute of Medicine approved the practice as ethical so long as strict guidelines are followed, opponents say it is difficult to ensure patients are not being killed by over-eager harvesting, particularly in pediatric situations. Van Norman and others said the practice could put pressure on families to stop care prematurely, especially when doctors and nurses are caring for both the potential donor and potential recipient.

David Crippen, a University of Pittsburgh critical-care specialist, told the Post he is concerned the changing definition of death will eventually lead to organ harvesting from the disabled.

"Now that we've established that we're going to take organs from patients
who have a prognosis of death but who do not meet the strict definition of
death, might we become more interested in taking organs from patients who
are not dead at all but who are incapacitated or disabled?"

Switzerland: Suicide Clinic Being Evicted from Building

Neighbor says "We call it the house of horrors. This is meant to be a residential flat but some days you'd think it was a morgue."

From "Neighbor's Complaints Succeed in Evicting Dignitas from Residence" by Elizabeth O'Brien, posted 7/17/07 at Lifesite.org

The Swiss assisted-suicide group Dignitas has been evicted from its operation site in a suburban area due to growing complaints from neighbors.

For nine years the assisted-suicide clinic at Gertrudstrasse 84 received people who wanted to kill themselves, Spiegel News reports. The organization took up two apartments of the apartment block; but recently the owner cancelled their lease because residents were horrified by the stream of body bags that were carried out on the elevator and are frustrated by the police and ambulances that constantly come to the door.

The landlady has given Dignitas until September to find a new residence. The eviction is especially significant, reports Spiegel, because the landlady is a cousin of Ludwig Minelli, the head and primary launcher of Dignitas.

55-year old resident Gloria Sonny started the eviction movement, gathering signatures to petition against Dignitas. She told Germany's Süddeutsche Zeitung that the place had become a "house of death." Last year Sonny was also quoted in UK's Telegraph, "We call it the 'House of Horrors'. This is meant to be a residential flat but some days you'd think it was a morgue."

She also noted that not all of the people who came with a one-way ticket were old. She said, "The look in their eyes haunts me, particularly if they are young."

Other residents complained that their children were constantly exposed to the dying and dead bodies. One woman was quoted in the Guardian Unlimited, saying that she changed her household chores in order not to "bump into a corpse while I'm taking out the rubbish."

Experts: Credit Romney for Homosexual 'Marriage'

Mitt Romney went out of his way to exercise illegal authority to impose same-sex marriage on Massachusetts, ignoring the advice of legal experts.

From "Experts: Credit Romney for homosexual marriage" by Bob Unruh, posted 7/14/07 at WorldNetDaily.com

While former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney claims he did everything possible to throttle homosexual marriage in his state – his campaign now saying he took "every conceivable step within the law to defend traditional marriage" – several constitutional experts say that just isn't so.

"What Romney did [was] he exercised illegal legislative authority," Herb Titus said of the governor's actions after the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court released its opinion in the Goodridge case in 2003. "He was bound by what? There was no order. There wasn't even any order to the Department of Public Health to do anything."

Titus, a Harvard law graduate, was founding dean of Pat Robertson's Regent University Law School. He also worked with former Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore, now a WND columnist, to draft the Constitution Restoration Act, which sought to take out of federal court jurisdiction cases that involved public officials that acknowledged God as the sovereign source of law, liberty, or government.

He's written "God, Man and Law: The Biblical Principles," and contributed to "Judicial Tyranny: The New Kings of America?" and has been admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court and a multitude of state and federal court jurisdictions.

Romney's aides have told WND that after four of the seven court members reinterpreted the definition of marriage, he believed he had no choice but to direct clerks and others to change state marriage forms and begin registering same-sex couples.

Some opponents contend that with those actions, Romney did no more or less than create the first homosexual marriages recognized in the nation.

"All the Supreme Judicial Court did was pronounce their judgment, declared their opinion," he told WND. "Gov. Romney is like too many other governors in America. If a court says something, they jump," said Titus, who also is a former candidate for vice-president on the Constitution Party ticket.

Others raising questions about the issue included Chris Stovall, senior general counsel the Alliance Defense Fund; Scott FitzGibbon, a professor of law at Boston College; attorney Phyllis Schlafly of Eagle Forum; and Hadley Arkes, a professor of jurisprudence at Amherst, who wrote about the situation in National Review shortly after the implementation of the law.

New Book Compares Chastity to Pollution

People who are chaste and monogamous (who practice "extreme sexual conservatism") cause the spread of AIDS through the "sin of self-restraint." More sex is safer sex...

From "Chastity Pollutes? NY Times Website Hosts Idea That Social Conservatism Causes AIDS" by Tim Graham, posted 7/9/07, at NewsBusters.org

On Sunday, New York Times economics columnist David Leonhardt reviewed the new book "More Sex is Safer Sex: The Unconventional Wisdom of Economics" by Steven Landsburg, a regular contributor to the liberal site Slate.com. Leonhardt panned the book as too cute and too far afield from the "dismal science" of economics, but the Times book editors gave the Landsburg thesis an excerpt on the Times website. According to Landsburg, people who are chaste and monogamous (who practice "extreme sexual conservatism") cause the spread of AIDS through the "sin of self-restraint." The excerpt begins:

It's true: AIDS is nature's awful retribution for our tolerance of immoderate and socially irresponsible sexual behavior. The epidemic is the price of our permissive attitudes toward monogamy, chastity, and other forms of extreme sexual conservatism. You've read elsewhere about the sin of promiscuity. Let me tell you about the sin of self-restraint.

Consider Martin, a charming and generally prudent young man with a limited sexual history, who has been gently flirting with his coworker Joan. As last week's office party approached, both Joan and Martin silently and separately entertained the prospect that they just might be going home together. Unfortunately, Fate, through its agents at the Centers for Disease Control, intervened. The morning of the party, Martin happened to notice one of those CDC-sponsored subway ads touting the virtues of abstinence. Chastened, he decided to stay home. In Martin's absence, Joan hooked up with the equally charming but considerably less prudent Maxwell - and Joan got AIDS.

When the cautious Martin withdraws from the mating game, he makes it easier for the reckless Maxwell to prey on the hapless Joan. If those subway ads are more effective against Martin than against Maxwell, they are a threat to Joan's safety. This is especially so when they displace Calvin Klein ads, which might have put Martin in a more socially beneficent mood.

Martin's chastity is a form of pollution -- chastity pollutes the sexual environment by reducing the fraction of relatively safe partners in the dating pool. Factory owners pollute too much because they have to breathe only a fraction of their own pollution; Martin stays home alone too much because he bears only a fraction of the consequences.

This is not a joke.

The man who wrote this, Stephen Landsburg, is apparently a well respected professor of economics at the University of Rochestor, commentator, author and contributor to the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post and Slate. All that to say, he is not part of the fringe Left.

Having said that, some ideas are so stupid it is probably best not to comment on them at all...

Homosexual Activists Attack Revelations of Lesbian Assaults

From "Payback for exposé on 'dyke' gang rapes" by Bob Unruh, posted 7/9/07 at WorldNetDaily.com

Two news stories about hundreds of lesbian gangs attacking and raping young girls in schools and other public locations have prompted a backlash against the reporters by members of the homosexual community.

The broadcasts by Memphis television station WPTY and Fox News host Bill O'Reilly quoted law enforcement authorities, victims, and even some gang members to document the growing number of attacks on young girls by lesbian gang members.

"The Eyewitness News Everywhere" report in Memphis documented incidents of gangs known as GTOs, or "Gays" Taking Over, attacking schoolgirls. Two prison inmates affiliated with the gang told the station they had begun meeting to offer each other support, but a younger generation of members had taken their group over for violence and rape.

Rod Wheeler, who has experience as a police detective, told O'Reilly of a growing national concern over lesbians and some men "recruiting kids as young as 10 years old in a lot of the schools in the communities all across the country." He estimated the presence of 150 gangs, including lesbian gangs, in the Washington area alone.

Some of the children, Wheeler said, "have actually reported that they were actually forced into, you know, performing sex acts and doing sex acts with some of these people."

On the Memphis report, Deputy Beverly Cobb of the Shelby County Gang Unit said lesbian gang members "will sodomize [with sex toys] and will force [young schoolgirls] to do all sexual acts. They are forcing themselves on our young girls in all our schools."

The report included a long list of Memphis-area schools where such incidents were documented.

The gang members, Cobb said, "carry weapons … they will use them quicker than any male that I've ever come upon – to try and fight them you'll get hurt."

Reports also said in some of the locations the organizations called themselves DTOs, or Dykes Taking Over.

But the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, which had tried to suppress the Memphis report before it aired, issued a statement charging the reporting was "without … one solid statistic or credible source."

Rashad Robinson, GLAAD's senior director of media programs, called the reporting "inaccurate tabloid journalism" and said it "perpetuates dangerous stereotypes about lesbians and feeds a climate of homophobia, anti-gay discrimination and violence."

Participants in several blogs simply ridiculed the reports. A writer who was identified as "Idaho Librul" told the "From the Left" website: "Thank goodness for Bill O'Reilly! I saw a group of rampaging lesbians just the other day going up and down my street. Oh wait a minute, come to think of it, they were Girl Scouts selling cookies. But I was terrified!"

On the After Ellen blog, another wrote, "Yes, it's true, we're just one cell short of being a full-fledged terrorist network. Don't bother asking us where bin Laden is – we'll never tell."

The story shouldn't be reported because
the criminals happen to be lesbian? Talk about censorship...

Peter LaBarbera, of Americans for Truth, an organization publicizing information about the impact of the "gay" lifestyle, contends pro-homosexual influences have so permeated many media organizations that the "gay" promoters are accustomed to having only their side reported...

Surgeon General Nominee Waffles on Position Against Homosexuality

From "Holsinger Holds Studiously Ambiguous Position on Homosexuality - Conservatives Disappointed" by Elizabeth O'Brien, posted 7/13/07 at LifeSite.org

During the Senate hearing yesterday, Surgeon General nominee Dr. James Holsinger Jr. remained studiously ambiguous on the issue of homosexuality. Meanwhile, the mainstream media has been clamoring that he has positively retracted his former views to now favor homosexuality.

Matt Barber, Policy Director for Cultural Issues of Concerned Women of America (CWA), reported that during the meeting, Massachusetts Senator Edward Kennedy began by slamming Dr. Holsinger for his Christian faith and the paper he wrote in 1991. Barber stated that Holsinger "seemed to try to distance himself from his 1991 paper by saying, 'First of all, the paper does not represent where I am today,' he said. 'It does not represent who I am today.'"

On the question of homosexuality, Barber comments, "Holsinger was definitely slipping and sliding all over the place. He came across as a regular Washington insider. In his 1991 paper he stood firm in his position. In the hearing he completely abandoned that firm stance by giving a bunch of non-answers and playing dodge ball…I was very much hoping he would display courage and stand firm on his prior position."

Nevertheless, Media reports have been milking Holsinger's "non-statements" as indications of his retracted position. Brit Hume, reporting on the Fox News Channel, for example, stated, "Holsinger also told senators in a confirmation hearing that he no longer holds the views about homosexuality that he expressed in a controversial paper in 1991, in which he called it unnatural and unhealthy."

Commenting on recent media coverage of the event, Barber continued, "And yes, his non-answers could be construed as 'disavowing' his previous stance. But I think the MSM, including Fox, have grossly exaggerated his statement. They're reporting what they wanted to hear, not what he actually said."

Barber continued, "I was very disappointed that he so clearly waffled and chose the path of least resistance. I'm left unimpressed."

This is a real shame. If he would stand firm in the truth perhaps we could finally have some public discussion of the destructive health consequences of homosexual behavior.

Homosexual Library with Hard-Core Porn Opens on Public City Property

"I fear that we're the first city that has a hard-core porn collection in our public library." In addition, "it is housed in our main children's park." -- Ray Naugle, Mayor of Ft. Lauderdale

From "Homosexual Library with Hard-Core Porn Opens on Public City Property" by Elizabeth O'Brien, posted 7/11/07 on LifeSite.org

Following a heated controversy between Mayor Jim Naugle and members of the homosexual community last week, the city commission approved the opening of a gay and lesbian library on public property.

The commissioners voted 3-2 yesterday to allow the Stonewall Library collection of gay and lesbian materials to be moved from its present location at the Gay and Lesbian Community Center to the more spacious, county-run ArtSpace library at Holiday Park.

...According to Rutland, the library has a policy allowing only people of 18 years and older to use the library because it contains adult material. He stated that it is becoming "a public networking area which sponsors programs, speakers, exhibitions, art openings, book discussion groups, film series." The number of people who attend these events is also growing larger.

Mayor Naugle, who voted against the library along with Commissioner Christine Teel, was already under fire for comments he made last week that sparked homosexual activists to a fury. On July 4 the Miami Herald published an interview with the mayor regarding the proposal of a new robotic toilet to be installed along the Florida beaches. The facility would have a security feature limiting occupant time by automatically opening its doors after a certain period. Naugle supported the new idea, saying, "Sometimes (public washrooms) are used for sexual activity-most of it is men meeting men because it's same-sex people in the bathrooms."

I wonder what their objection is...

Naugle also made the following comment, "I don't use the word 'gay.' I use the word 'homosexual.' Most of them aren't gay. They're unhappy."

Naugle regretted the fact that the proposal for the new library came at such an inopportune time. He stated, "I had no idea this was what the homosexual book collection was all about. It's a shame it had to come out during this whole toilet controversy. They'll think it's some anti-gay thing-um, anti-homosexual."

Mayor Naugle told LifeSiteNews.com that he opposed the project for two reasons. "Number one the city needs the space," he said. Secondly, the morning of the vote, it came to his attention that the Stonewall collection contained hard-core pornographic material depicting men committing anal intercourse. He commented, "I fear that we're the first city that has a hard-core porn collection in our public library." In addition, "it is housed in our main children's park."

He concludes, "I'm shocked that a commission majority has approved it and I'm hoping that they'll reconsider, but we'll have to see." Although the library will not be moving within the near future, it will likely open before the end of the year.

We're always told that homosexuality is just like heterosexuality, yet heterosexuals have never felt the need to include porn in public libraries or frequent public restrooms for anonymous sex (at least not in great enough numbers to establish a recognizable pattern)...

This certainly lends credence to former homosexual Michael Glatze's assertion that homosexuality is by its very nature pornographic.

Interestingly enough, this library is being financed by the local newspaper, The Sun Sentinel (owned by the Chicago Tribune.)

Ted Kennedy Sneaks 'Hate' Crimes Amendment Into Defense Reauthorization Bill

From "Hate Crimes Amendment Sneaks Into Senate Defense Reauthorization Bill" posted 7/12/07 at Liberty Counsel

The so-called "hate crimes" legislation took a new form yesterday when Senators Ted Kennedy (D-Mass.) and Gordon Smith (R-Ore.) introduced the controversial amendment to a Defense Reauthorization bill. This move will could push senators to vote on the issue as early as this week.

Introduced as the Matthew Shepard Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act, the Kennedy amendment is one of more than 100 amendments attached to the Defense Reauthorization bill. An ABC 20/20 investigation showed that the Matthew Shepard murder, portrayed by activists as a hate crime because Shepard was homosexual, was in fact a bungled robbery that had nothing to do with Shepard's homosexuality.

Hate crimes laws are actually "thought crimes" laws that violate the right to freedom of speech and of conscience and subject individuals to scrutiny of their beliefs rather than focusing on a person's criminal actions. Hate crimes laws will have a chilling effect on people who have moral or religious objections to homosexual behavior. Evidence of a person's beliefs will be used against any individuals who are even suspected of committing a crime. In a debate on a similar bill that passed the House in May, Rep. Artur Davis, who supported the bill, admitted that under this law a minister could be charged with the crime of incitement if the minister preached that homosexuality is a serious sin and a person in the congregation left church and committed a crime against a homosexual. Liberty Counsel has published a legal memo that explains the dangers of hate crimes legislation.
