America Protests Planned Parenthood, Media Ignore

As tens of thousands of people gathered in hundreds of cities across America to protest taxpayer dollars funding Planned Parenthood, the mainstream media covered yesterday's national day of unity as just isolated local events.  Meanwhile, the latest undercover video by the Center for Medical Progress exposes Planned Parenthood's sale of intact dead babies.
“We now know that Planned Parenthood not only perpetrates over 300,000 abortions each year, but harvests the organs of the unborn children it destroys.  Whether this trafficking is called a sale or the coverage of expenses, PP is compensated for this harvesting.”

-- From "Thousands protest outside Planned Parenthood clinics around the country" by Peter Holley, Washington Post 8/22/15

The demonstrations unfolded at about 320 clinics around the nation, according to organizers, with some gatherings drawing a few dozen protesters and others drawing hundreds and perhaps thousands more.

The protests kicked off at 9 a.m. Saturday and included speakers, prayer groups and chants, as well as signs distributed by organizers that said “Planned Parenthood sells baby parts.”

Though the official number of protesters was not immediately available, organizers billed the effort as the largest-ever rally against the health-care provider. Monica Miller, the director of Citizens for a Pro-Life Society, one of the participating groups, told USA Today that previous protests have drawn thousands of protesters, but hundreds of simultaneous protests have never taken place on the same day.

Protests were held at 14 Michigan sites of Planned Parenthood, part of nationwide protests at 290 locations. A coalition of more than 50 pro-life groups looked to create awareness of abortion and the sale of aborted materials.

Protester Barb Yagley of Troy, campaign director for 40-Days for Life, was at a protest in Ferndale.

“The short-term goal here really is to educate the American public about what abortion actually does to the child that’s within the womb and that it’s not just a blob of tissue, and to ask Planned Parenthood to reform themselves,” Yagley said.

A push to defund Planned Parenthood is underway in Lansing as state Senator Patrick Colbeck of Canton is sponsoring a bill to cut off taxpayer funding.

From "Thousands of Pro-Life People Protest at Planned Parenthood Abortion Clinics in Over 350 Cities" by Steven Ertelt, LifeNews.com 8/22/15

Tens of thousands of pro-life advocates across the country — perhaps as many as 50-75,000 people in all — protested at Planned Parenthood abortion clinics across the country today. They protested to raise national attention to the massive scandal at Planned Parenthood, where its staff and officials have been caught selling aborted babies and their body parts.

The protests took place in over 350 cities in 47 states and 5 countries — with hundreds of people in many cities and over 6,000 in the Twin Cities in Minnesota alone.

Organizers of the protests say they are the outgrowth of recently released Planned Parenthood expose videos showing the abortion company trafficking in aborted baby body parts and showing a complete disregard for women and unborn children.

While the videos have focused on the Planned Parenthood abortion business, the biotech firm StemExpress, which buys and resells aborted baby body parts from the abortion giant . . .

In the video, Cate Dyer, the CEO of StemExpress, is shown in a lunch meeting with undercover operatives posing as representatives of a biotech firm. Dyer is laughing about how StemExpress purchases fully intact aborted babies from Planned Parenthood. She laughs about how shippers of the aborted babies would give a warning to lab workers to expect such a baby.

“Oh yeah, if you have intact cases — which we’ve done a lot — we sometimes ship those back to our lab in its entirety,” she says.

“Tell the lab its coming,” she laughs about the intact unborn babies. “You know, open the box and go ‘Oh my God,'” Dyer adds.

The controversy over videos purporting to show Planned Parenthood officials discussing the sale of body parts from aborted fetuses drew hundreds of people to a protest outside of the group’s Aurora clinic this morning.

Protest organizer Eric Scheidler said he saw people protesting he hadn’t seen in years, and said was easily the largest protest outside of the Aurora clinic since it opened in 2007.

The protesters ranged in age from their teens to their 80s. Living Hope Bible Church of Roselle Associate Pastor Mike Tiberi said the videos showing Planned Parenthood executives discussing the sale of body parts left by abortions make him more determined than ever to see abortion stopped.

Hundreds of abortion opponents protested outside the Boston Planned Parenthood clinic Saturday, bearing crucifixes and graphic images and calling for an end to government funding for the organization.

The Boston demonstration was one of approximately 300 organized across the country. The protests come after pro-life advocates released footage of Planned Parenthood officials discussing the harvesting of fetal tissue.

Planned Parenthood defended itself from what protest organizers say is the largest coordinated day of protest against the group.

Pro-life advocates want an end to public funding for Planned Parenthood. In 2014, the group received over $528.4 million in government dollars.

A crowd of some 200 anti-abortion activists demonstrated outside the offices of Planned Parenthood in San Diego on Saturday morning, calling for the elimination of federal funding to the nonprofit health care organization.

The protest near downtown was one of 320 similar gatherings staged outside Planned Parenthood offices across the country, according to organizers. In San Diego, protesters lined the sidewalks at the corner of First Avenue and Grape Street, chanting and holding signs.

A similar protest in Escondido also drew about 200 participants Saturday, according to police, while another rally of about 100 people was staged in Vista.

Saturday’s peaceful rally in San Diego drew a range of participants, including students from local colleges, as well as members of church groups from around the county. Several protesters brought children and infants.

The event’s organizer, Silas McClufor with Advocates for Justice, said they counted more than 500 men, women and children standing outside the city’s Planned Parenthood facility.

“Planned Parenthood is lying to women and not giving information that they are using the body parts of the aborted babies. They are not telling mothers they are selling these for a profit and we cannot stand for this. Planned Parenthood does not honor women and it doesn’t have respect for human life in the womb,” McClufor explained.

“Multiple times in multiple videos, [Planned Parenthood] is seen discussing how to get higher compensation for this fetal tissue. And in fact, a flyer given to Planned Parenthood by StemExpress states that sale of tissue will benefit them financially,” Dr. Francis, who is also a board member with the American Association of Pro-life Obstetricians and Gynecologists, said.

More than 1,000 abortion opponents protested in front of a Planned Parenthood clinic in Mt. Auburn as part of a nationwide protest against the organization Saturday morning.

The protests were organized by a coalition of anti-abortion groups, including American Life League and Stop Planned Parenthood International, in 47 states and more than 300 cities to call for cutting off Planned Parenthood's federal funding and putting a stop to abortions.

The protest had multiple speakers including Cincinnati City Councilman Charles Winburn and Ohio State Senator Joe Uecker. Local clergy, including Revered Chuck Hickey of the Trinity Presbyterian Church, led the protesters in prayer.

"It still surprised me that more people aren't upset about this," said Corrine Groh, who attended the protest with her two children. "They say that it's a woman's right to choose, well you made the choice to get pregnant."

At a rally Saturday morning outside Planned Parenthood in north Spokane, state Rep. Matt Shea called the group “an evil organization” committing acts on par with Nazi Germany.

Jami Cary held a sign reading “#PPSellsBabyParts,” a reference to the videos released by the Center for Medical Progress, an organization opposed to abortion. . . . “I think the majority of people are apathetic about it,” said Cary, who was at the rally with her husband, Kevin, and four children. “I think, with the videos coming out, your basic human alarm clock is dinging. I think there’s more momentum now.”

Alex Barron, who traveled to Spokane from Post Falls to attend the rally sponsored by the Priest Lake-based Selkirk Pro-Life Alliance, said abortion decisions in the courts were an extension of rulings in the 19th century that defined personhood.

“I believe that this country has made the same decision that it made in Dred Scott, when it said that blacks were not human,” said Barron, a black man, referring to the 1857 Supreme Court decision that ruled slaves had no legal protections as citizens. “When that (Roe v. Wade) Supreme Court decision was made a few years ago, we did not have the same science, we did not have the same clarity, we did not have the same sonograms that we have now.”

Barron said that taxpayer dollars should not go to Planned Parenthood, but should be directed instead to other organizations that provide similar services without facilitating abortions.

[Rep. Post] cited a report by the state Division of Medical Assistance Programs that shows that the state spent more than $20 million on abortions in the past 12 years, all funded by the Oregon Health Plan.

The peaceful protest was mainly led by prayer and was without incident or violence.

“All life is precious. And I don’t want to look back on my life saying that I knew this was going on and that I didn’t try to do something about it,” said Jessica Baeckel. Baeckel came to the protest with her husband and two of her four children.

From "Republicans move abortion bill forward" by David Saleh Rauf, San Antonio Express-News 7/4/13

A sweeping package of abortion restrictions was approved by a House panel early Wednesday, capping an hours-long hearing of emotional testimony.

The Republican-led panel was poised to eventually move forward with the abortion restrictions, which would ban the procedure at 20 weeks and would require costly upgrades to Texas abortion clinics that activists say would cause the closure of all but five in the state.

Outside the Capitol in a courtyard close to the hearing room, activists from both sides of the issue roared late into the night, chanting and singing.

At one point, a small group of pro-abortion-rights supporters in the background reportedly started chanting, “Hail Satan,” to drown out speeches emanating from a circle of anti-abortion activists.

From "Abortion Supporters Chant 'Hail Satan' in Texas Capitol as Pro-Lifers Sing 'Amazing Grace'" by Leonardo Blair, Christian Post Reporter 7/3/13

On Tuesday, the pro-abortion supporters went from riotous to sacrilegious when they chanted "Hail Satan" repeatedly in a bid to silence Christian pro-lifers who were singing "Amazing Grace" in support of abortion restrictions in the state.

. . . The legislation would also require that abortions be performed at ambulatory surgical centers and mandate that doctors obtain admitting privileges at a hospital within 30 miles of their practice. Opponents of the proposal argue that the proposal would virtually shut down abortion clinics in that state and pro-life supporters have no problem with that.

"The world has seen images of pro-abortion activists screaming, cheering," Republican Gov. Rick Perry noted, in an earlier report in which he vowed that the process would not be derailed a second time. "Going forward, we have to match their intensity, but do it with grace and civility."

On the 38th anniversary of Roe v. Tens of thousands of people braved the cold and took to the streets of downtown D.C. Monday for the annual March for Life . . . [which] condemns the 1973 Supreme Court that set off an on-going battle in American politics.

More than three dozen lawmakers addressed the crowd during the two-hour rally before the march. They said they would work to restrict tax dollars for abortions.

Small groups of anti-protesters said the country should remain pro-choice.

Wade has led to a three-and-a-half decades-long holocaust in the United States of America, and it amounts to a stain on our national conscience, and it's time for it to end."

Wicker, who for years has attempted to pass his "Life at Conception Act," today announced that he will reintroduce the bill in the Senate Tuesday. The legislation would establish that human life begins at conception and calls for legal protection for fetuses.

"It's time for the 14th Amendment protection to be afforded to the unborn," he said.

The rally comes as the new Republican Majority House has made abortion one of its top priorities and reopened the controversial debate. Last week, Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, introduced legislation [HR 3] that would ban federal funding for abortion, calling it one of the House's "top legislative priorities."

For the first time ever, the morning rally events that preceded the March for Life took place at two locations – the Verizon Center and D.C. Armory – to accommodate larger-than-usual crowds. Growing youth participation, possibly assisted by online social media, has nearly quadrupled the size of the march during the past decade.

In the afternoon, the demonstrators assembled on the Washington Mall before proceeding to the steps of the Supreme Court. Although the city of Washington, D.C. does not provide estimates of the crowd size at the yearly event, organizers predicted that up to 400,000 people would participate in this year's march.

The evening before the event, thousands gathered in the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception for the opening Mass of the National Prayer Vigil for Life. Cardinal Daniel N. DiNardo, Archbishop of Galveston-Houston, Texas and chairman of the U.S. bishops’ Committee on Pro-Life Activities, celebrated the Mass for a capacity crowd at the nation's largest Catholic church.

“Americans love life as much as we love freedom,” [House Speaker John Boehner] said, indicating that public policy should never seek to balance the freedom of one individual against the vulnerable life of another, but must always respect both. In an authentic vision of freedom, he said, these “founding principles” – individual liberty, and the right to life – are inseparably “intertwined, and form the basis of our national character.”

Planned Parenthood Loses to Illinois Pro-lifers

Pro-life advocates won major concessions from the city of Aurora [Illinois] to continue their pro-life witness and sidewalk counseling outside a Planned Parenthood facility, thus concluding their two year fight for their First Amendment rights.

Attorneys for the Thomas More Society, representing Fox Valley Families Against Planned Parenthood and the Pro-Life Action League, successfully settled with the city in federal court in Chicago on Thursday, voluntarily dismissing their First Amendment lawsuit filed in 2007 to protect the rights of citizens who pray and protest at the city’s Planned Parenthood facility, one of the largest abortion clinics in the United States.

Under the settlement’s agreements, the City of Aurora will amend two ordinances that the law firm claimed were unconstitutional, and mandate First Amendment and non-discriminatory law enforcement training for Aurora police. The settlement also establishes a grievance process to handle disputes between the protesters and Aurora officials.

The settlement guarantees that any street signs prohibiting “picketing or protesting” will be removed from the city. Pro-life individuals are guaranteed the right to use public sidewalks and parkways for peaceful prayer and protest.

Reaction to Losing on Election Day

"When conservative Christians lose at the polls, they react with quiet disappointment, reevaluation of political parties and traditional loyalties, and prayer for our nation and its leadership. But when the radical homosexual community loses an election, they fight back – literally."

-- From "Homosexuals not so 'gay' in California" commentary by Judge Roy Moore © 2008 WorldNetDaily 11/26/08

Americans who believe in traditional moral values like the right to life and one-man-one-woman marriage suffered a disappointing loss with the election of Barack Hussein Obama as president of the United States. The most liberal, pro-abortion president in our history, Obama also supports civil unions between people of the same sex. Conservatives were also frustrated by the rejection of pro-life measures at the polls in Colorado and South Dakota, and the failure of a law requiring parental notification for an abortion by a minor in California.

The homosexuals' response to the passage in California of Proposition 8, a constitutional amendment defining marriage as between one man and one woman, has been marked by violence, hatred and anti-religious bigotry. Earlier this year, the California Supreme Court struck down Proposition 22, a law passed in 2000 wherein the people of California had declared marriage to be only "between a man and a woman." Once again voicing their support for traditional marriage this Nov. 4, Californians approved Proposition 8, joining 29 other states where, by an average vote of 67 percent, the biblical definition of marriage has been protected in state constitutions. Proving to be the sorest of losers, thousands of angry homosexuals took to the streets to protest Proposition 8, even attacking Mormon and Christian churches in the process.

. . . Those who claimed that Proposition 8 was about "hate" are now showing what hate really looks like.

Homosexual riots in the streets and physical attacks on people of God seem more fitting for Sodom and Gomorrah than America. But those disturbing reactions reveal that radical homosexuals seek more than "tolerance" – they will not stop until they impose their immoral lifestyle on the rest of us, even to the point of making their perverse behavior legally sanctioned by law. Any setbacks are met by violent public tantrums and personal attacks.

While we must never adopt the unlawful and hateful tactics of radical homosexuals, Christians must continue to oppose their immoral agenda in our schools, courts and political establishments. We must pray for those who like the people of Sodom are still blinded by their sins. Finally, pray for our country and a return to the moral foundation that made us a great nation.

Prop 8 Protest: A Call to the LGBTQ Community, Friends, & Family

I’m sure all would agree that with the election of Barack Obama, this week has been one of amazing wins in the world of equality! Still, Tuesday night was a bitter-sweet celebration. We came together to witness the first black man who will become our president, yet watched in sadness as Florida, Arizona, Arkansas, and California all voted down equal rights for all citizens.

We need to show this nation that we are ONE LOUD VOICE THAT DEMANDS TO BE HEARD! We need to be one organized unit. . . . It’s time we come together for debate, for public recognition, and for LOVE! Let’s move as one full unit, on the same day, at the same hour, and let’s show the United States of America that we too are UNITED CITIZENS EQUAL IN MIND, BODY, SPIRIT AND DESERVING OF FULL EQUALITY UNDER THE LAW!

Send this post to everyone! We have one week and must react to the pro-hate votes cast against us! Let’s help our LGBTQ friends, families, neighbors, and each other to IMPACT this country with a demand for our basic human rights! Join the cause, join the voice, and JOIN THE IMPACT!

Gay Activists Bully New Jersey High School into Staging Pro-Homosexual Play

In reaction to a threat by gay rights groups to bring hundreds of protestors to town, the superintendant of a New Jersey school district reverses an earlier decision to cancel plans to perform a pro-gay play.

From "Controversial Play Gets Green Light" by Erik Larsen, posted 8/12/07 at Home News Tribune

OCEAN TOWNSHIP — Superintendent of Schools Thomas M. Pagano on Thursday reversed an earlier decision and said "The Laramie Project" will be performed at the high school this fall, ending a weeklong controversy that had gay rights groups promising to bring hundreds of protesters to town.

The play based on the true story of the murder of Matthew Shepard, a homosexual college student, and the aftermath, had initially been canceled by administrators, who said its provocative themes might prove a disruption to the district.

Sadly, the Matthew Shepard murder story is true. However, it has since been conclusively revealed that Shepard's murder was never about his homosexuality. It was a robbery for money and drugs. Gay activists, with the help of the main stream media, turned Matthew's name into a battle cry for gay 'rights.'

In addition, the "Laramie Project" contains sex, violence, profanity, and anti-Christian elements. It is not appropriate for high school students.

In explaining his reversal Thursday, Pagano who had said previously that he would not be pressured into changing his mind, said reaction in the community was overwhelmingly in favor of the play going on and that no one had expressed support for the initial decision.

No one? That seems rather unlikely...

Steven Goldstein, chairman of Garden State Equality, a statewide gay-rights group, said the district's about-face represented one of the most jubilant days in the organization's history.

"This victory means that the students of Ocean Township High School will see a play that will change their lives," Goldstein said. "And that will go such a long way in bringing mutual respect and tolerance for all people from the area. This is also a huge victory for academic freedom it says a lot to the power of the gay/lesbian community and our allies."

Yes. It does say a lot about the power of homosexual activists and the cowardice of our leaders - which gives them that power...

As of Thursday, high school drama coach Bob Angelini got "The Laramie Project" reinstated for the first three nights in November, and also won additional concessions from the superintendent.

First, the play will not only be viewed by parents and community members over three nights, but will be shown to the entire student body during school hours. Angelini also will with individual parental permission take the show on the road outside the district, under the West Park Players moniker, the name of the high school drama club.

"We had a blunt conversation," Angelini said about a talk with Pagano.

Shown to the entire student body during school hours? Taking it on the road? That must have been a VERY 'blunt' conversation.

These aren't just 'concessions', they are appeasement - to the 'God of All Things Gay' and his angry priests...

Islamists Protest at UC Irvine (First hand account)

From Islamist protest against freedom of speech at UC Irvine, by Vik Rubenfeld, published on The Big Picture Blog

Last night the United American Committee, and the College Republicans of University of California Irvine, held a panel discussion regarding the Danish Cartoons, including an unveiling of the cartoons themselves.

My friend Laura Wallick and I went in order to support free speech in America, and to support our friend, UAC founder Jesse Petrilla.

It turned out the event was so packed (capacity of the UC Irvine auditorium was 450) that we couldn't get in, which left us free to document the very interesting behavior of the crowd of Islamists protesting the event outside. One police officer we spoke to estimated the Islamist protesters as numbering about 1,000.

They had evidently decided that their PR approach was to accuse the College Republicans of "hate speech."

A very clever ploy. But how dare they, when all over the world, Islamists are cutting off people's heads, killing women and children, taking people hostage and murdering them, threatening genocide against Jews and carrying out genocide against Muslims in Darfur, and regularly broadcasting hate speech on TV in various Arabic countries? These protesters could easily have condemned those actions; then their pretense that they were in favor of peace, and against hate speech, might mean something.

Not one of the Islamist speakers I heard, said a single word against any of the actions I have just itemized. What was particularly shocking was that not one speaker I heard condemned the burning of embassies or the killing of people which took place during the cartoon riots.
