Christian School Attacked for Teaching Creation

When atheists gained access to a 4th grade biblical creation exam from Blue Ridge Christian Academy of Landrum, SC they thought Internet distribution of the exam, along with criticism, would stop "those dumb Christians," but instead it brought donations to the financially struggling school.
"Even though the attack on the school was meant to be harmful, God has used it to provide affirmation regarding the importance of our work."

The test questions and answers reflect the beliefs of Young Earth creationist theory, which holds that the universe and everything in it was created by God some 6,000 years ago. Dinosaurs and humans co-existed, in this belief system. This explains some of the answers on the test.

There are religious schools around the country that teach this, including some that take students who have publicly funded vouchers.

. . . Angie Dentler, a teacher and publicist from Blue Ridge Christian Academy . . . sent the following press release. It says that the school was having major financial trouble but that the release of the quiz, which first hit the Internet and Facebook weeks ago, may wind up helping the school stay open.

[Excerpts from] the release:
It was announced on March 28th that there would be little hope for Blue Ridge Christian Academy to keep its doors open past May 31st .

On April 21st, an Atheist website features a photo of a Quiz on Creationism that was given to a 4th grade class at Blue Ridge Christian Academy on March 28th. This thread has been viewed over 898,000 times and generated 3,677 comments.  Some comments were extreme stating things such as:  ”I crave blood, give me the principals head!” and “I hope the teacher dies a horrible death.”

The media attention has brought awareness of the school reaching from the upstate of South Carolina, throughout the US and into over 70 countries around the world.  Donations have been given ranging in amounts from $1 – $1000.

From "Christian School's Creationism Quiz Sparks Online Debate, Financial Donations" by Katherine Weber, Christian Post Reporter 5/16/13

. . . the school does not receive tax vouchers, and approximately 45 percent of students receive financial aid funded by private donors.

The school's website states that one of its academic goals is to teach students that "God's truth is authoritative and is the foundation for all living and learning," so that students may "develop a biblical worldview while both understanding the culture in which they live and [be] ready to confidently defend their faith."

The school noted that it does in fact include the evolution theory in its science curriculum.

South Carolina is one of seven states in the U.S. that specifically requires its schools' science standards to allow students to critically analyze key aspects of evolutionary theory.

IRS Gave Homosexualists Private Info of Christians

The Internal Revenue Service leaked confidential personal data of donors of the National Organization for Marriage. That data was then published by the Human Rights Campaign (the nation's largest homosexual advocacy organization) in searchable form on the Internet, thus allowing homosexualists to target pro-marriage Christians for harassment, assault, and terrorist attacks.
“There is little question that one or more employees at the IRS stole our confidential tax return and leaked it to our political enemies, in violation of federal law.”

From "Report: IRS leaked confidential documents to investigative media" by Jonathan Easley, The Hill 5/14/13

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) leaked confidential materials submitted by some conservative groups to investigative journalists at ProPublica, the group reported on Tuesday.

“In response to a request for the applications for 67 different nonprofits last November, the Cincinnati office of the IRS sent ProPublica applications or documentation for 31 groups,” ProPublica reports. “Nine of those applications had not yet been approved—meaning they were not supposed to be made public.”

ProPublica says it followed up with the IRS at the time to find out why it had been provided the confidential materials. The IRS responded by saying it would be illegal for ProPublica to publish the documents.

ProPublica published the materials but redacted some financial information.

Critics had long questioned how ProPublica got that information. . . .

NOM claimed that someone from the IRS fed the liberal Human Rights Campaign documents listing its 2008 contributors. On that list was a $10,000 donation from Romney’s political action committee. The Human Rights Campaign then published the documents online, saying it had uncovered one of the group’s “top secret donors,” and accused Romney of attacking lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender equality.

The donation came as NOM and other conservative groups were fighting for the Proposition 8 measure banning gay marriage in California.

Conservative think tank The Heritage Foundation said they, too, were targets of the IRS years ago.

With the IRS admitting it gave extra scrutiny to conservative political organizations, Graham says he now believes that the review was part of an Obama administration effort of “targeting and attempting to intimidate us.”

The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association urging of voters to back “candidates who base their decisions on biblical principles and support the nation of Israel” during last year’s presidential race was the reason why IRS agents visited the North Carolina offices of both Graham groups, the letter [from Graham to President Obama] accuses.

The Graham organizations kept their federal income tax exemptions after the audit — but were not told they’d be able to until after the November election, he wrote.

The IRS review . . . followed the Billy Graham ministry publishing newspaper ads in North Carolina backing a state constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage.

Christians Defeating ObamaCare, DOJ Surrenders

Religious Liberty has been scoring victories against President Obama's War on Christianity (via birth control and abortifacients): The White House quit fighting Tyndale (Christian) publishing in court; Judge ruled for Christian-owned Seneca Lumber Company; Geneva (Christian) College given day in court.

-- From "The Supreme Court is About to Get Another Chance to Gut Obamacare" by Simon Lazarus, Senior Counsel to the Constitutional Accountability Center (posted at New Republic) 5/13/13

[Critics of the Affordable Care Act (ACA - ObamaCare) argue that] due to a drafting glitch in the ACA, only state-run exchanges, not federal ones, can provide tax credits and subsidies to enable lower-income individuals to afford ACA-mandated health insurance. . . . The Obama administration has estimated that 80 percent of the millions of individuals expected to purchase insurance through exchanges will require some tax subsidies. Without those subsidies, in states with Federally facilitated exchanges, the individual mandate, constitutional though the Court has declared it, simply won’t work.

. . . All the Obama administration’s arguments, however well-founded, could be shoved aside, if the case reaches the Supreme Court, and the Court’s conservative bloc deploys a “methodology,” long touted by Justice Antonin Scalia, for interpreting statutes.

Tyndale House Publishers, based in Carol Stream, Ill., sued the federal government over the mandate last October because it objects to providing emergency contraception, which it claims causes abortions.

Tyndale was granted a preliminary injunction by the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia in January 2013. The government appealed that lower court ruling.

On Friday, [President Obama's] Department of Health and Human Services dropped its appeal.

“The government dismissed its appeal because it knows how ridiculous it sounds arguing that a Bible publisher isn’t religious enough to qualify as a religious employer,” said Matt Bowman, senior legal council for Alliance Defending Freedom [ADF], a Christian legal group that represents Tyndale.

From "Seneca Lumber Company Wins Exemption From Obamacare Contraception Mandate" by Jillian Berman, The Huffington Post 4/23/13

Wayne Hepler [of Pennsylvania], whose family owns Seneca, argued in the suit that the they shouldn’t be required to cover contraception because it violates their deeply held Catholic beliefs, and therefore their government-protected religious freedom. The suit notes that “Hepler and his thirteen children are committed to the Catholic church’s teachings on human life and sexuality.”

"This is a family that provides generous benefits in their business and they want to be free to live according to their faith, but this Obamacare mandate is coercing them to violate their conscience," said Matt Bowman, the senior legal counsel at Alliance Defending Freedom who represented the plaintiffs in the case.

The Heplers and their companies "are being forced to choose between providing health insurance that is inconsistent with their beliefs or providing no insurance at all, a choice that puts them at a competitive disadvantage and forces their employees to purchase health insurance, which includes coverage for the objected to services, on their own,” the suit states.

In filing the lawsuit last year, Geneva [College] officials argued that requiring the school to offer birth control coverage that includes the morning-after pill is "directly at odds" with its religious values, including the Bible's Sixth Commandment: "Thou Shalt Not Murder."

. . . Geneva's lawsuit also targets ella — also known as the week-after pill. Finally, [ADF's Gregory] Baylor says even if Plan B winds up being permanently available over the counter, doctors can sometimes still write prescriptions for such drugs, meaning insurance would cover them.

Geneva wants the judge to rule that the regulations violate federal law and the First Amendment rights of the college and similar faith-based or church-related groups. It also seeks an order exempting the school from complying with the birth control rule in the federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010.

From "Obamacare challenge moving back toward Supremes" posted at World Net Daily 4/25/13

While the Supreme Court last year ruled on Obamacare, it left several of the questions about the program unanswered. Liberty University said it had a right to have those litigated, and the Supreme Court agreed, resulting in the pending case [of May 26 before the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals].

. . . the Liberty Counsel challenge to Obamacare is described as the most comprehensive case pending because it challenges the employer mandate that companies must provide abortifacients or pay a penalty, the abortion mandate for religious employers, the abortion mandate for individuals and the entire law because tax bills must originate in the House.

“Obamacare represents a frontal attack to religious freedom. Obamacare is a train about to collide with the fundamental right to free exercise of religion,” said [Liberty Counsel's Mathew] Staver. “Not only does Obamacare violate the rights of religious employers because of its abortion mandate, it violates the rights of individuals who oppose abortion and the rights of all employers, religious or not.”

Staver said the university will clearly state that all abortions – whether chemically induced by drugs shortly after conception or performed in an abortion clinic – are equally reprehensible to many people of faith.

Staver noted that the case probably will end up back at the Supreme Court, with a final verdict probably coming in the first half of 2014.

Bringing Prayer Back to N. Carolina Schools: Bill

To counter the atheist threats against teachers, students, and school boards, the North Carolina legislature is moving a bill to make clear that students and teachers alike have rights to pray in school. Sponsors of the bill say the law simply codifies the existing case law, including U.S. Supreme Court decisions that allow prayer in school.
"Some educators — many times out of ignorance, sometimes out of base motives — and certain outside groups intimidate students into silence or inaction in matters of faith or practice."

Calif. OKs Boys on Girls' Teams, in Their Showers

The California Assembly has passed a bill that allows children of all ages to choose to play on either boy's or girl's sports teams and to choose locker room and restroom facilities of either gender.  The only thing a boy has to do to choose to be with the girls is to say "I feel like a girl today."

The bill, sponsored by Assemblyman Tom Ammiano (D-San Francisco), a proud homosexual, is presented under the guise of equality for "transgendered" students, but no medical or psychological evaluation is required for students to choose -- only the student's opinions/feelings/statements.

Should the bill also pass in the state's Senate and signed by the governor, it would ensure that all students have equal access, according to Ammiano.

"Will transgender students make some other children uncomfortable? Perhaps," Ammiano wrote. "I don't want to minimize that, but new experiences are often uncomfortable. That can't be an excuse for prejudice."

The bill is sponsored by the National Center for Lesbian Rights, Equality California, Transgender Law Center and Gay Straight Alliance Network.

Under the bill, a student will be "permitted to participate in sex-segregated school programs, activities, and facilities, including athletic teams and competitions," consistent with "his or her gender identity, irrespective of the gender listed on the pupil's records."

California's action follows a "transgender rights" directive issued by the Massachusetts Department of Education in February accomplishing everything the California bill does.

"By imposing this radical policy on all schools in California, the legislature seeks to take away local control from the school districts, parents, and communities," Karen England, executive director of Capitol Resource Institute, a faith-based political action group in Sacramento, said in a statement.

From "State ordering girls' locker rooms open to boys" by Drew Zahn, World Net Daily 5/10/13

The bill’s author, openly homosexual San Francisco Democrat Tom Ammiano, has been an activist for lesbian, “gay,” bisexual and transgender, or LGBT, issues for decades and reportedly became in 1975 the first San Francisco public school teacher to make his homosexuality public. Ammiano later co-founded an LGBT organization with Harvey Milk, the homosexual activist about whom Hollywood made a recent feature film and California schools celebrate an annual day of remembrance.

By a vote of 46-25, carried without any affirmative votes from Republican lawmakers, the California Assembly passed the bill, AB 1266, which amends Section 221.5 of the state’s Education Code as follows: “A pupil shall be permitted to participate in sex-segregated school programs and activities, including athletic teams and competitions, and use facilities consistent with his or her gender identity, irrespective of the gender listed on the pupil’s records.”

The bill would affect not only interscholastic sports, but also sex-segregated physical education classes.

UPDATE 6/12/14: From "Transgender Surgery Isn't the Solution" by Dr. Paul McHugh, former psychiatrist in chief at Johns Hopkins Hospital, posted at Wall Street Journal

. . . policy makers and the media are doing no favors either to the public or the transgendered by treating their confusions as a right in need of defending rather than as a mental disorder that deserves understanding, treatment and prevention. . . .

You won't hear it from those championing transgender equality, but controlled and follow-up studies reveal fundamental problems with this [transgender rights] movement. When children who reported transgender feelings were tracked without medical or surgical treatment at both Vanderbilt University and London's Portman Clinic, 70%-80% of them spontaneously lost those feelings.

. . . A 2011 study at the Karolinska Institute in Sweden produced the most illuminating results yet regarding the transgendered, evidence that should give advocates pause. The long-term study—up to 30 years—followed 324 people who had sex-reassignment surgery. The study revealed that beginning about 10 years after having the surgery, the transgendered began to experience increasing mental difficulties. Most shockingly, their suicide mortality rose almost 20-fold above the comparable nontransgender population. This disturbing result has as yet no explanation but probably reflects the growing sense of isolation reported by the aging transgendered after surgery. The high suicide rate certainly challenges the surgery prescription.

At the heart of the problem is confusion over the nature of the transgendered. "Sex change" is biologically impossible. People who undergo sex-reassignment surgery do not change from men to women or vice versa. Rather, they become feminized men or masculinized women. Claiming that this is civil-rights matter and encouraging surgical intervention is in reality to collaborate with and promote a mental disorder.

Christian Disqualified in Texas School Relay Race

After Derrick Hayes of Columbus High School crossed the finish line, winning the track event, he and his parents said he pointed to the sky in thanks to God, but the gesture was considered "celebratory taunting," and after a University Interscholastic League (UIL) judge approached Hayes, the team's win was reversed.  After much public outcry, including a demand for investigation by Texas Gov. Rick Perry, the entire story changed, as Derrick and his parents agreed to a written statement saying that his gesture was NOT thanks to God, and thus his religious liberty was not infringed.  The disqualification stands.

The UIL said they do not have a rule banning religious expression – it’s just a matter of where you express it.

“You can do whatever you want to in terms of prayer, kneeling or whatever you want to once you get out of the competition area. You just can’t do it in the competition area. It goes back to the taunting rule. I can’t taunt my opponent,” the superintendent told MyFoxHouston.com.

The Texas Tribune reports that Gov. Rick Perry has called for the UIL to investigate the incident and take whatever action is necessary to ensure religious freedom and expression is protected at competitions.

In his letter, Perry said he would “not tolerate the suppression of religious freedom anywhere.”

With this being said, I do not feel my religious rights or freedoms were violated.”

'Gay Marriage' Sweeps New England. D'ya Notice?

In the span of a few days, Rhode Island and Delaware made it 6-for-6 in New England, and eleven states nationally with same-sex "marriage," yet it barely made news -- so commonplace now, perhaps.  With several more states considering abandoning the traditional union that is enshrined in the constitutions of dozens of other states, it appears that the once united states of America are increasingly divided.
“The meaning of marriage cannot be redefined, because its meaning lies in our very nature. Therefore, regardless of what law is enacted, marriage remains the union of one man and one woman – by the very design of nature, it cannot be otherwise.”

In an interview, [National Organization for Marriage president Brian] Brown blasted “cultural elites” for demonizing supporters of traditional marriage and warned Republican officeholders of the perils of supporting same-sex marriage proposals.

. . . In Illinois, he said supporters of a bill that passed the state Senate remain short of passage in the House, in part because of opposition from African-American Democratic legislators.

In Minnesota, he said opponents had “a very good chance of winning” against a bill that has cleared House and Senate committees. In New Jersey, he predicted Democratic efforts to overturn Gov. Chris Christie’s veto of a bill authorizing same-sex marriage weren’t “going to go anywhere.”

In Oregon, he predicted advocates of same-sex marriage would succeed in getting a proposed constitutional amendment on the 2014 ballot that would reverse a ban on gay marriage voters passed a decade earlier. “I think we can win that vote even though Oregon, again, is viewed as a very liberal state,” Brown said.

“And the goal of this whole inevitability argument is to sap the will of the majority of Americans to even fight on the issue, and that is not going to happen.”

From "RI Bishop on Gay Marriage: We’ve Entered ‘Post-Christian Era’" by Michael W. Chapman, CNSNews.com 5/7/13

Bishop Thomas Tobin, head of the Catholic diocese of Providence, said the “gay marriage” bill signed into law in Rhode Island by its governor, Lincoln Chafee, constituted a “new challenge of the post-Christian era into which, clearly, we have now entered.”

[Bp. Tobin said,] “Our respect and pastoral care, however, does not mean that we are free to endorse or ignore immoral or destructive behavior, whenever or however it occurs. Indeed, as St. Paul urges us, we are required to ‘speak the truth in love.’ (Eph 4:15)”

“At this moment of cultural change, it is important to affirm the teaching of the Church, based on God’s word, that ‘homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered,’ (Catechism of the Catholic Church, #2357) and always sinful,” said Bp. Tobin.  “And because ‘same-sex marriages’ are clearly contrary to God’s plan for the human family, and therefore objectively sinful, Catholics should examine their consciences very carefully before deciding whether or not to endorse same-sex relationships or attend same-sex ceremonies, realizing that to do so might harm their relationship with God and cause significant scandal to others.”

From "When you say 'Gay marriage is inevitable,' do you mean rich people want it?" by Jennifer Roback Morse, American Thinker 5/9/13

. . . as races developed in state legislatures, the Gay Lobby got reinforcements from not just Hollywood millionaires, but Republican billionaires. In New York State, Republican hedge-fund manager Paul E. Singer pumped money into the campaign coffers of pro-gay marriage Republicans. In the words of the Washington Post, "He coaxed Republican state senators in New York to back a same-sex marriage law in 2011, offering financial cover against backlash stemming from their votes, helping raise six figures for each of them."  You would think they would show some shame over such blatant quid pro quo corruption.  But hey, he's rich. He supports Republican candidates and Democratic causes, so who is going to confront him?

[In Rhode Island,] How did the marriage redefinition bill pass, given the opposition from traditionally Democratic constituents? Look at the professional side of the equation.  One can track the number of lobbyists registered for each side of each bill on this page,  from the Rhode Island Secretary of State.  The House version of the marriage redefinition bill, H5015A has one lobbyist opposed: my buddy Chris Plante of NOM Rhode Island. Entire WV County Becomes School-run Orphanage-Plus

The breakdown of the family in McDowell County, West Virginia, has resulted in the government creating the ultimate nanny-state institution guided by the teacher's union via a taxpayer-funded public school system on steroids. The school system will provide all-day meals for children, medical care for citizens of all ages, as well as adult literacy and drug rehabilitation programs for the derelict parents.
"In addition to reading, writing and arithmetic, we're also acting as their parents."
-- Florisha Christian McGuire, principal

"I think the lessons are not just for this county or for this state, but across this country, that this community effort, this collective endeavor can be as successful as we all hope and think it can be. The implications are truly national."
-- Arne Duncan, President Obama's education head

Need we be reminded? 44% of 'Middle America' Births are Out of Wedlock

-- From "In rural W.Va., schools rethink their role" by Philip Elliott, Associated Press 5/8/13

. . . McDowell County, a place perpetually ranked among the worst in the state by almost every measure. Twelve people a month die from drug overdoses here, while more than 100 people are on a waiting list to talk to rehab counselors via Skype. Three-quarters of all students live in a home where parents can't find work in this one-time coal hub that has slowed. The county leads the state in teenage pregnancies.

With this as the backdrop, the West Virginia Board of Education on Wednesday was set to formally alter the scope of these schools. The state took over the schools more than a decade ago and its leaders no longer will limit their mission to the traditional school day. The officials are going to try to turn the schools into a base, not just for the students but for all of those who live around here . . .

Some 72 percent of the students live in a home where neither parent is working. About 46 percent of students live in a home without a biological parent; many of them are in jail for drugs. Many of the students will become parents before they become graduates; the county leads the state in the teen birth rate, with roughly 1 in 10 females between the ages of 15 and 19 giving birth.

It's not as though McDowell County is a stranger to outsiders' help. In 1966 alone, the county received $721,000 from federal anti-poverty programs.

"Eight community centers were opened, each with a library and recreation area, classrooms for Head Start and well-equipped sewing and cooking areas. Instructors were hired to teach adult education and home economics. Recreation directors were employed," The New York Times wrote in a 1966 article from here.

New Sex Disease, Worse than HIV/AIDS, Identified

News sources are warning hedonists to practice "safe sex" due to a new strain of gonorrhea spreading around the world, and reporting that there is no known cure and that death could occur within days of sexual activity.
If gonorrhea becomes resistant to all antibiotics, "then we're going to be in the same situations that were we in the 1800s."

Researchers said HO41, discovered in Japan in 2011, could rise to the level of drug-resistant bacteria such as MRSA, CRE, which infect as many as one in 20 hospital patients and kill about half those infected.

"It's an emergency situation," said William Smith, the executive director of the National Coalition of STD Directors [NCSD], because gonorrhea can be difficult to detect and this particular strain could potentially put someone in septic shock and kill them in just a few days.

Resistance to antibiotics is a rapidly mounting crisis, as diseases such as malaria and tuberculosis, once relatively simple to cure, have become able to withstand treatment.

From "New Gonorrhoea Strain 'Worse Than Aids'" by Sky News 5/6/13

The new strain of gonorrhoea resists existing drugs and the NCSD has asked the US government for an extra $53m (£34m) in funding to prepare.

It claims it is a case of "if, not when" a drug-resistant form of the disease arrives in the US, and that if action is not taken now it could potentially cost around $780m (£501m) to treat.

Professor Dame Sally Davies, England's Chief Medical Officer, recently advised the Government to add the threat of drug-resistant gonorrhoea to the civil emergencies risk register.

From "Gonorrhea HO41 Superbug may be 'Worse Than AIDS'" by Kathleen Lees, Science World Report 5/6/13

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, gonorrhea is a sexually transmitted disease caused by a bacterium that can easily grow in warm, moist areas of the reproductive tract, including the cervix, uterus and fallopian tubes in women, and the urethra in women and men. The bacterium can also grow in the mouth, throat, eyes and anus.

Furthermore, it can cause pelvic inflammatory disease, ectopic pregnancy and even, in some cases, infertility. The disease is the second most commonly reported sexually transmitted infection in North America

Gonorrhoea can be hard to detect, without obvious blisters or pain. It shows no symptoms in 50 percent of women, and 5 percent of men.

Researchers are hoping that raising awareness of the condition can prevent future health problems. However, as noted by professor Cathy Ison, head of the National Reference Laboratory for Gonorrhoea which is part of Public Health England, according to the Today programme, "there is a possibility that if we don't do something then it could become untreatable by 2015."

From "Antibiotic-resistant gonorrhea not 'worse than AIDS,' experts say" by Rachael Rettner, MyHealthNewsDaily 5/7/13

Antibiotic-resistant gonorrhea is a serious public health issue, but comparing the illness to AIDS, as a recent article did, is misleading, experts say.

"At this point in time, AIDS is a fatal infection," while gonorrhea patients very rarely die from the condition, said Dr. Carlos del Rio, chair of the Global Health Department at Emory University's Rollins School of Public Health. However, both experts stressed that antibiotic-resistant gonorrhea was a very serious problem. "There really is no reason to compare it to anything else," del Rio said.

Gonorrhea is becoming increasingly resistant to the antibiotics doctors have to treat it. Last year, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said that there is just one drug left that can be used as a first-line treatment for the disease. The drug, ceftriaxone (an antibiotic delivered by injection) is recommended to be used along with other antibiotics, such as such as azithromycin or doxycycline, for seven days.

Obama Funds Condom Delivery Service to Pre-teens

The California Family Health Council publicly thanked President Obama for increasing the federal Title X funding to $327 million to "qualified health centers to provide comprehensive sexual and reproductive health care services..." -- thus funding The Condom Access Project that allows children as young as twelve to order condoms on-line with no questions asked.
"I would ask parents the question, 'Who should be making decisions for the best welfare of your child -- you as a parent, or the state, who has no direct connection, has no understanding, has no relationship with your child?'"

Teens can getup to 10 condoms delivered to their doorstep at no cost and in confidential packaging.

California law allows teens to gain access to contraceptives without parental consent.

In its first year, C.A.P. has already distributed 30 thousand condoms across the state.

As part of the project, anyone between 12 and 19 years old in those counties can confidentially request a pack of 10 condoms online, up to once a month. It's similar to Planned Parenthood programs that offer free condoms to teens who come to the organization's health centers.

With each order, teens also receive personal lubricant to reduce breakage as well as educational information, said the California Family Health Council, which runs the Condom Access Project.

"Despite broad retail availability, teens continue to face many barriers to accessing condoms," such as embarrassment, cost and confidentiality, the council said.

The health council says it operates the country's largest Title X system in the country, providing sexual and reproductive health care for more than 1 million Californians a year. It also receives support from grants and individual and corporate donations, the group said.

Mr. Mrs. Miss, then Ms., now Mx. = Transgendered

As the Culture War rages, in the battle to destroy family, we see the effort to deny the inarguable distinction of male and female as created by God Almighty:  The title "Mx.," short for "Mixter," is used in an attempt to pretend that a person can change their gender (despite the fact that every cell in their body is stamped with that God-given gender).

Brighton and Hove city council's trans-equality panel previously pointed out that the gender part of forms [and official documents] allows people to say if they are male, female or other.

It said the lack of options in the title field does not provide for people who do not identify as male or female.

Yesterday the council's policy and resources committee approved a series of measures, including the removal of the need for patients to choose from male or female options when they check in at electronic screens on arrival at a GP surgery.

Other recommendations include ensuring all councillors and police staff undertake trans awareness training and introducing gender neutral toilets and changing rooms, suggested by the council's trans-equality scrutiny panel.

“There has been inadequate awareness of the lives of trans people for too long.

“The recommendations of our cross-party panel will make the city a fairer place for trans people who live, work, study or visit here.”

Gay Star Goes Straight -to the Bible; Media Silent

When someone in the public eye announces "I'm gay," the mainstream media blasts the story ad nauseam, but when the news is a renouncement of the homosexual lifestyle, and even a turn to God (the author of sexuality), we hear . . . crickets!

Not even ONE mainstream media news outlet is reporting this one -- just a single, local newspaper. Of course, the homosexualists are denouncing the Gay Agenda traitor from the rooftops.

-- From "YouTube sensation Antoine Dodson confirms: He's leaving the gay life, wants a wife" by Pat Ammons, The Birmingham News 5/3/13

The latest brush with national news came Thursday when Dodson posted a declaration on his Facebook page that, " I have to renounce myself, I'm no longer into homosexuality I want a wife and family, I want to multiply and raise and love my family that I create." In a Friday interview with al.com, Dodson said, "A light just came on in my mind," leading him to decide that he no longer wanted to be gay.

[Dodson's 2010 YouTube video,] The "Bed Intruder Song" went viral with more than 114 million views.

Dodson has since popped up in the public eye for various things, including his July 2012 defense of Chik-fil-A owner President Dan Cathy for saying he supported the Biblical definition of marriage as being between a man and a woman. Dodson, who confirmed he was gay at the time, said he supported Cathy's right to say what he believed and that Dodson would continue to eat the chain's chicken sandwiches.

Dodson, who grew up in Chicago, said he "came out of the closet" when he was 14 or 15 but had been teased about being a homosexual from the time he was little. "My family always said I had feminine ways," he said. He said his father was never in his life and that he lacked any positive male role models. That along with several sexual assaults "more and more pushed me into being gay."

Dodson's declaration that he is no longer gay comes from a religious conversion. He has been reading the Bible, he said, and learning about the Hebrew Israelites, who he said are the descendants of the tribe of Judah, one of the 12 tribes of Israel.

Methodist Duke Univ. Ups Fees for Sex Changes

Every student at North Carolina's Duke University will be paying for sex-change surgeries (up to $50,000) for fellow students suffering from sexual confusion.  Duke is the 38th institution of "higher learning" to adopt the health insurance mantra of the Gay Agenda.

University officials acknowledge that the student fees for health insurance will skyrocket, but say that most of the increase is due to ObamaCare, not transgender coverage.

Duke University is hiking student fees in order to cover the cost of sex-change surgery in its insurance plan.

“The addition of sexual reassignment surgery with a $50,000 cap makes Duke’s student health care plan one of the most, if not the most, transgender-inclusive plans in the country,” said Sunny Frothingham, the outreach chair for Blue Devils United, said in the Duke Chronicle.

The announcement follows a March resolution passed by the student government that advocated for Duke to pay for sex-change operations.

Administrators signed a new contract with Duke’s health insurance provider, Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina, that will include up to $50,000 to cover sexual reassignment surgery, Dean of Students Sue Wasiolek confirmed. With this new coverage, she said, all vital aspects of transgender health care—counseling, hormone therapy, and surgery—are now included in students’ plans.

“The [health insurance] plan premium is increasing 8 percent next year, with 4 percent of that increase resulting from taxes associated with the Affordable Care Act,” she said. “The remaining 4 percent is attributed to health care cost trend and benefit enhancements.”

[Junior Jacob Tobia, president of the homosexualist Blue Devils United,] added that this inclusion is one step to further ensure that students spanning the LGBT community feel welcome at Duke.

Pres. Obama Prays to an Unknown God

With each year of his presidency, Barack Obama "evolves" away from Christianity, as exemplified today in his proclamation.  The sitting president is required, by law, to declare the first Thursday of May as the National Day of Prayer, and so this year, President Obama wrote of prayer as being a community activity for the benefit the participants, rather than the Christian belief that prayer is communication with (the one) God Almighty.

Americans have long turned to prayer both in times of joy and times of sorrow. . . .

Prayer brings communities together and can be a wellspring of strength and support. . . .

. . . Regardless of religion or creed, Americans reflect on the sacredness of life and express their sympathy for the wounded, offering comfort and holding up a light in an hour of darkness.

. . . Today and every day, prayers will be offered in houses of worship, at community gatherings, in our homes, and in neighborhoods all across our country. Let us give thanks for the freedom to practice our faith as we see fit, whether individually or in fellowship.

The Congress, by Public Law 100-307, as amended, has called on the President to issue each year a proclamation designating the first Thursday in May as a "National Day of Prayer."

The group's chairperson is Shirley Dobson, the wife of Focus on the Family founder Dr. James Dobson.

"What do we pray for?" Laurie asked.  "Well first of all, let's pray that our country turns back to God. America needs a spiritual awakening; let's pray that a revival will come to our shores again. With all that's happening in our country, the attack of the two young terrorists in Boston effectively bringing one of the great American cities to a standstill, we realize how much we need God's help. Pentagon: Jesus' Command is Court Martial Offense

Pentagon officials have confirmed their April 23rd consultation with the Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF), an atheist organization, and the recent edict throughout the ranks that any personnel, including chaplains, adhering to Jesus' Great Commission to the Church will be severely punished.
“Until the Air Force or Army or Navy or Marine Corps punishes a member of the military for unconstitutional religious proselytizing and oppression, we will never have the ability to stop this horrible, horrendous, dehumanizing behavior. . . . This is a national security threat. What is happening is spiritual rape. And what the Pentagon needs to understand is that it is sedition and treason. It should be punished.”
-- President Mikey Weinstein, MRFF
Meanwhile, the Navy has shifted from a creed of doing "the right thing," to the Gay Agenda recruitment slogan of "fair treatment for all."

MRFF founder Mikey Weinstein says even a Christian bumper sticker on an officer's car or a Bible on an officer's desk can amount to "pushing this fundamentalist version of Christianity on helpless subordinates."

Weinstein and other leaders of his foundation met with top officials at the Pentagon last week.

The Rev. Ron Crews, who heads the Chaplain Alliance for Religious Liberty, agrees that faith shouldn't be forced on the lower ranks. But he says evangelical Christians believe that God wants them to share their faith with others.

From "U.S. military should put religious freedom at the front" by Sally Quinn, Washington Post 4/26/13

“The armed forces are on the verge of falling apart,” Larry Wilkerson, former chief of staff to Colin Powell, told me in an interview.

“The chain of command is compliant,” said Wilkerson. “Abuse of power is inimical to all military. Condoning of sexual assault or proselytizing is an abuse of command.” The idea of “zero tolerance,” he said, is “the most mocked phrase in the military. It camouflages a lot.”

Wilkerson was speaking to me in an interview with former ambassador Joe Wilson and the head of the private Military Religious Freedom Foundation, Mikey Weinstein. They were on their way to a meeting at the Pentagon on April 23 where they would discuss religious issues in a group that included several generals and a military chaplain.

The chaplain’s role, according to Wilson, “is to minister to spiritual needs. You don’t proselytize. It’s a workplace violation.”

The proselytizing they referred to is primarily from “dominionist” or fundamentalist evangelical Christians.

“Why would military leadership be meeting with one of the most rabid atheists in America to discuss religious freedom in the military,” [President of the Family Research Council, Tony] Perkins said. “That’s like consulting with China on how to improve human rights.”

The Pentagon confirmed to Fox News that Christian evangelism is against regulations.

“Religious proselytization is not permitted within the Department of Defense,” LCDR Nate Christensen said in a written statement. He declined to say if any chaplains or service members had been prosecuted for such an offense.

“Court martials and non-judicial punishments are decided on a case-by-case basis and it would be inappropriate to speculate on the outcome in specific cases,” he said.

From "Navy recruiting ad touts 'fair treatment for all'" by Michael F. Haverluck, World Net Daily 4/30/13

In a new recruiting ad for television, the U.S. Navy reinforces its commitment to the “fair treatment of all,” an apparent promotion of the new military policy of welcoming service members who openly declare themselves to be homosexual.

Ron Crews, executive director of the Chaplain Alliance for Religious Liberty, is one of many who are asking whether Commander-in-Chief Barack Obama’s leading role in repealing  “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” in September 2011 will present a dilemma for those who oppose the policy but also vow to “obey the orders of those appointed over me.”

The Sailors’ Creed was modified . . . The newest text appears to give the orders of superiors the same weight as the U.S. Constitution and eliminates references to “responsibility” and doing “the right thing.” Adding a reference to obedience to superiors, the second line now reads:

Fearing the the new policy on homosexuals will erode religious liberty, the chaplains alliance worked with other groups to draft a preventative measure in the National Defense Authorization Act for the Fiscal Year 2013. . . . When President Obama signed the bill in January, however, he issued a signing statement that rejected the conscience provision, calling it “unnecessary and ill-advised.”
