Responding to an advertisement, Topeka resident William Marotta provided his sperm, free of charge, to lesbians Angela Bauer and Jennifer Schreiner in 2009. Now, after the lesbians have separated, Schreiner has sought public aid for her daughter (age 3), but Kansas insists that the non-regulated exchange of sperm makes the donor-father subject to child support. Marotta, a proclaimed liberal who supports same-sex parenting, believes the Republican-dominated state government is persecuting everyone involved in the immoral debacle -- making those who created the problem pay to solve it, rather than the taxpayers.
-- From "Kansas Wants Sperm Donor to Pay Child Support" by Christina Ng, ABC News 1/1/13
Marotta and his wife met with the [lesbians] and he agreed to donate to them . . . All three signed a sperm donor contract that stated that he would have no paternal rights and would be in no way responsible for any child that resulted from the donation.
"Jennifer and Angie further agree to indemnify William and hold him harmless for any child support payments demanded of him by any other person or entity, public or private, including any district attorney's office or other state or county agency, regardless of the circumstances or said demand," the agreement read.
Marotta donated and Schreiner gave birth to a little girl through artificial insemination, according to court documents. The issue that would later become a legal factor, however, is that the artificial insemination was not performed by a licensed physician . . .

From "Kansas Presses Sperm Donor for Child Support" by Makini Brice, Medical Daily 12/31/12
Angela Bauer, 40 years old, and Jennifer Schreiner, 34 years old, have eight children together, many of whom are adopted, ranging in age from 25 years to 3 months. . . .
Bauer and Schreiner have since separated, but they continue to co-parent their children. At the time of the [sperm] transaction, they were financially stable enough for Schreiner to stay at home with their children. Since then, Bauer suffered from what she described as a debilitating illness that has meant that she is unable to work and has been in and out of rehabilitation.
The couple applied for financial assistance to support their family. The state responded by refusing to give further healthcare assistance unless they provided the name of their sperm donor. They reluctantly did so, leading Kansas to pursue Marotta for child support for the couple's three-year-old daughter.

From "Topeka sperm donor: Child support case politically motivated" by Tim Hrenchir, Topeka Capital-Journal 12/31/12
Angela de Rocha, spokeswoman for the DCF, said Monday the department is proceeding with the case the way state law requires.
She said: “Speaking generally, all individuals who apply for taxpayer-funded benefits through DCF are asked to cooperate with child support enforcement efforts. If a sperm donor makes his ‘contribution’ through a licensed physician and a child is conceived, the donor is held harmless under state statue. In cases where the parties do not go through a physician or a clinic, there remains the question of who actually is the father of a child or children. DCF is required by statute to establish paternity and then pursue child support from the noncustodial parent.”
[Marotta] said: “It’s my understanding that (Bauer) told the department of child services right off the bat, ‘I will be financially responsible for this’ and they in essence told her, ‘No, get lost. You’re not part of this.’ And when somebody’s willing to say ‘Hold it a minute, I’m the one who’s responsible for this’ and another agency says ‘No, get lost,’ whether it’s bureaucratic politics or something more than that — it’s a Republican state, yeah, I think it’s politics.”
Marotta said the degree of national media attention the case has drawn didn’t surprise him because it combines the social issues of same-sex couples, adoptions and sperm donor rights “all wrapped into one.”

IVF: Women Living & Procreating Without Men
Americans have a unique opportunity to observe the demise of the family unit in Europe. For example, in the U.K., where laws favoring fatherhood have been discarded, we see that given the choice, many women prefer motherhood without men.
UPDATE 9/28/15 - Virgin Births: IVF Eliminating Fatherhood
-- From "The soaring rate of 'no-father' families: Lesbian couples and single women rush for IVF" by Jenny Hope, U.K. Daily Mail 12/20/10
There has been a doubling of lesbian couples undergoing fertility treatment, while three times as many women are taking the plunge into single parenthood.
The legal changes affecting such families came in the 2008 Human Fertilisation and Embryology Act, which allowed birth certificates to record two mothers or two fathers.
The same Act scrapped the requirement for fertility doctors to consider a child’s need for a male role model before giving IVF treatment.
When the law was changed many Christian groups and campaigners for traditional family values warned it would further undermine the role of fathers.

Men Without Sperm: Empowering Women
Recent studies showing 20% of otherwise healthy young men producing inadequate sperm gives ammunition to feminist dreams of civilization without men.
The study shows that a woman can control her male offspring's sperm production, and thus future potency, during pregnancy and infancy -- what power!
UPDATE 6/29/10: Drinking alcohol while pregnant 'affects sperm'
-- From "The infertility timebomb: Are men facing rapid extinction?" by Tamara Sturtz, Daily Mail 5/10/10
Professor Niels Skakkebaek, of the University of Copenhagen, describes the issue 'as important as global warming'. Last week, one science writer even suggested, in starkly terrifying terms, that if scientists from Mars were to study the male reproductive system, they would possibly conclude that man was destined for rapid extinction.
And if it continues, this trend could indicate men are on a path to becoming completely infertile within a few generations.
Only 5 to 15 per cent of their sperm is good enough to be classed as 'normal' under World Health organisation rules - proving that infertility is not just a female problem. Indeed, among those experiencing difficulty with conception, a male fertility problem is considered important in about 40 per cent of couples.
[There's] growing evidence that although the process of sperm production - known as spermatogenesis - starts in adolescence, the crucial preparations are made in the few months before and after birth.
Factors such as women eating a lot of beef during pregnancy - which means they have consumed a diet rich in polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) that are potentially damaging chemicals - to the issue of obesity during pregnancy and a woman's exposure to smoke, pesticides, traffic fumes, plastics and even soya beans are all thought to have a bearing on a male foetus's future fertility.
Experts talk of a 'window' of testicular development that begins in the growing foetus and ends in the first six months of life. Problems in this period mean that the baby boy may never be able to produce babies of his own.

Reproductive Science Yields Economic Stimulus
Egg donor agencies and sperm banks report compensating increasing numbers of unemployed donors trying make ends meet
-- From "Recession spurs egg and sperm donations" by Bella English, Boston Globe Staff 4/7/09
If a woman meets the agency's criteria, she earns $10,000 every time she donates. (Technically, the women are compensated for their time and inconvenience; it is illegal to sell one's eggs.)
Couples, and some single women, pay $20,000 to $30,000 for an egg donation, in vitro fertilization, and transfer to the recipient. Donors generally must be healthy nonsmokers between ages 21 and 32 with a good family health history, "reasonably educated and reasonably attractive. . ." Screening involves physical, psychological, and genetic testing. If accepted, the woman undergoes hormone injections, then a surgical procedure to remove her eggs. Fees paid to the donor generally range from $5,000 to $10,000. Recipients choose prescreened donors.
Sperm donations are also on the increase, although they pay much less - an average of $85 to $100 per donation. Such "banks" generally require that the donor be at least 5-foot-8, a college student or graduate between the ages of 18 and 38, and in good health.
California Cryobank, which has offices in Cambridge, recruits largely on college campuses and asks each donor for a year's commitment, with the average donor contributing 2-3 times a week.

Lesbians' Common Sperm Donor Limits Gene Pool
Unregulated sperm donation is leading to unusual situations in which the children of lesbians in Adelaide are mixing socially - creating a risk of incest.
-- From "30 South Australian lesbian mums 'impregnated by same man'" by Tory Shepherd, Adelaide Now (Australia) 10/8/08
One of South Australia's foremost experts in reproductive technology - Reverend Dr Andrew Dutney - says that in one reported case, about 30 lesbians were impregnated by sperm from one man.
The mothers then organised picnics with all the children, raising the fear they might socialise with their half-siblings without realising they are related.
In another case, a man's sperm was used to produce 29 children, most of whom are living in Adelaide. They do not know who their half-siblings are, raising concerns that in a "big country town" like Adelaide, they could accidentally commit incest.
In South Australia it has become standard practice to identify sperm donors, which has put men off donating through reproductive clinics.
Fertility treatments do not generally cater to homosexuals, because the law says it is only for infertile couples or those at risk of transmitting a serious defect.
These factors combine to push many people wanting children to seek help elsewhere - either through "turkey basters" or casual sex with friends or willing participants found online.
To read the entire article, CLICK HERE.
To the average "straight person" the point of this story is elusive, so here's a summary: Because the government regulations require affixing a man's name to his donated sperm, the article claims that men are less likely to want to donate sperm, AND because the fertility treatment centers aren't impregnating the lesbians, the lesbians are being impregnated by anonymous "professional sperm donors" in town, thus resulting in many lesbians birthing children from the same father, AND since the lesbians in town "hang around together," their common children are getting to know each other, and in the event the children don't follow their mothers' homosexuality, the offspring, being half brothers/sisters could produce children of incest. Conclusion: living outside of God's plan gets really complicated!

HIV POSITIVE SPERM DONATIONS TO BE OK'D IN CALIFORNIA????
Must read to believe...
According to "California Legislature Sends Same-Sex 'Marriage' Bill to Governor" posted 9/10/07 at Citizenlink.org the California legislature has approved and sent an unbelievable set of bills to the governor's office to sign. Among the provisions of this legislation are the following:
1. allow HIV-positive men to donate sperm, with no guarantee that the child
conceived in the process would be HIV-free (And what about the woman? One must not discriminate - even when it endangers people's lives?)
2. legalize same-sex “marriages"
3. teach public school children age 5 and older to be accepting of homosexuality, cross-dressing and bisexuality
4. end local oversight of school discrimination policies
Here is an actual excerpt from the bill:
The politicians go who have signed off on this are apparently nothing more than prostitutes of the worst sort - not selling themselves for money, but selling the welfare of their constituents to the highest bidder - in this case the almighty gay lobby...
Will Pr. Rick Warren be speaking out about this? AIDS is one of his top issues. (At least AIDS in Africa is...)
Please pray that righteousness will prevail, the governor will veto this terrible legislation and the people of California will wake-up and exercise the freedom they've been blessed with to this put a stop to this evil.

Sperm whose donor has tested reactive for HIV or HTLV-1 may be used for the purposes ofinsemination or advanced reproductive technology for a recipient testing negative for HIV or HTLV-1 only after the donor's sperm hasbeen effectively processed to minimize the infectiousness of the sperm for that specific donation, where informed and mutual consent has occurred...Processed to MINIMIZE infectiousness? Mutual consent? Are they kidding? Even if a woman is foolish enough to do this, what about the child? What consideration does he/she get?
