Public nudity by gay men in San Francisco used to be for "special occasions," but now with naked men on the streets every day, public officials want to outlaw exposure of genitals and buttocks to only specifically-sanctioned public displays of debauchery.

Nudity would remain legal at street fairs, festivals and parades - and thus, the Folsom Street Fair, Bay to Breakers and the Gay Pride Parade could remain as flesh-filled as ever. The legislation also wouldn't affect nudity at public beaches or on private property.

"I don't see a reason for banning [public nudity]," [a nude man] said. "People who don't want to look just turn the other way. Most people just walk by like I'm a streetlight."

[City Supervisor Scott Wiener] said he has seen the naked guys publicly wearing genital jewelry designed to stimulate arousal. He's heard reports from others that the naked guys have publicly engaged in sexual touching and charge tourists $5 to take pictures with them.

Currently, San Francisco bans nudity only in parks and restaurants and on port property.

[Wiener] said, “Our neighborhood has had a general tolerance” for the nudists, but their numbers have gone “well beyond what is acceptable” and “public opinion in our neighborhood has shifted.”

Last year, the board approved legislation that banned nudity in restaurants and outlawed sitting on benches or other public seating without first placing clothing or other material atop the seat first.

State law only bans “lewd” behavior, which courts have interpreted to exclude simple nudity, according to Wiener’s office. Other Bay Area cities, including Berkeley and San Jose, have already enacted similar public nudity bans, he said.

"This is, in my opinion, an attack on freedom," said George Davis, 66 years old, who was soaking up the sun Tuesday wearing nothing more than sunglasses and a hat, reading a book about Twitter, the microblogging service. As one of the Castro's famous nudists, "I meet people from all over the world," he said, including South Korea, France and Liechtenstein.

Some argued a ban would mark a slippery slope for the city. "Today it is naked people, and next week it will be drag queens, and then the week after that it will be people who wear leather," said Mitch Hightower, 51, who organizes an annual "nude-in" body freedom demonstration in the city and runs an exhibitionist website.

"If only they looked better, it would be great," said Tom Moore, bartender at the Twin Peaks bar in front of the Castro plaza, which doesn't let the naked people inside.

Josh Moreno, manager at the Hot Cookie shop on Castro Street, said he had no problem with the naked guys, including in his cookie store. "We don't discriminate against people based on their appearance," he said. "We shouldn't be focusing our taxpayer dollars to ban something that is just natural."

. . . Sunday's 27th annual Folsom Street Fair, where bare buttocks and leather harnesses were common sights as hundreds of thousands of people came in close contact on a hot afternoon.

The 5-block-long fair was the centerpiece of San Francisco Leather Week, billed by nonprofit Folsom Street Events as "one of the most beloved fetish events in the world."

There was a raised stage where flogging was performed and a spanking booth where proceeds went to charity. Vendors included Quality Whips, Eternity Collars and Simply Latex.

The 2008 Folsom Street Fair sex festival has completed another run in U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's district in San Francisco, and the local Chronicle newspaper described it this way: "There were naked people selling bondage gear and naked people seeking support for measures on the Nov. 4 ballot. There were naked people with cameras, taking pictures of other naked people. One man wore only an 11-foot Burmese python, which curled around his waist."

A number of Christian organizations, however, were led by Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth in condemning the scene on the city's public streets as depraved.

The festival, which celebrates deviant sex, including homosexual activities, has turned in recent years into a daylong showing of nudity and public sex acts with promotions of the unnatural and pornographic – all on the public streets of San Francisco with formal approval from Newsom.

Linda Harvey of Mission America described the event as a "massive pagan pansexual street party, complete with instances of full nudity, homosexuality, and crowds gathered around people being whipped for sado-masochistic pleasure."

"How Mayor Newsom and Nancy Pelosi can allow this in the city they represent is beyond all understanding," she said. "It truly seemed like the beginning of the end of civilization."

"It's outrageous that this is happening in the streets of a major city," she said. "Police stood by and did nothing to stop the nudity and of course, did nothing to prevent these whippings."

Liberty Counsel issued a statement calling for enforcement of the state's decency laws.

"During this event, fully nude men walk the public streets engaging [in] some of the vilest acts in broad daylight. Some parents even bring their children!" the group said.

"History has shown that California is a very influential state. If this illegal activity is not stopped, this debauchery may soon come to a town near you," Liberty Counsel said.

Nude men engaged in multiple instances of public sex on a municipal street while police officers, on foot and bicycle, congregated nearby making no attempt to enforce public indecency regulations, according to a report on the latest homosexual-fest in San Francisco [by Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth.]

Americans for Truth previously worked to raise the nation's awareness of the Folsom Street Fair, which last fall broke into the headlines with its promotional image mocking the Last Supper scene of Jesus Christ and his disciples, replacing the biblical leaders with leather-adorned men and the bread and wine with sex toys.

LaBarbera, who had to edit photos to conceal full nudity in images from the public street festival before he could post them as part of his report, said there were exhibitionists who "walked around baring their genitals, with no fear of being arrested." Other websites, to which WND is unable to link because of their graphic content, published fully explicit photographs of various public acts of sex and nudity. They featured explicit photographs of oral and anal sex between men and men urinating on each other, among other activities.

"These photos do not fit in with the slick, national 'gay' marketing plan, to be sure," LaBarbera wrote. "Nevertheless, the pathetic and debased spectacle is as much an offspring of the 'GLBT' movement as the current quest for homosexual 'marriage.' The latter radically redefines and corrupts an ancient institution created by God to order relations between man and woman as the basis for family life. Perverse events like 'Up Your Alley' … mock any notion of right and wrong – as the reckless pursuit of anything-goes 'tolerance' leads governmental authorities to enable and promote evil, turning freedom into sexual anarchy while causing a breakdown in law and order."

"One San Francisco policeman told our volunteers that the police were instructed not to make arrests for indecency on the city streets at "Up Your Alley" – but merely to 'contain' the activity to the street fair, which encompassed several city blocks," Americans for Truth reported.

"San Francisco's extreme political correctness has turned cops into impotent Perversion Protectors," the group said.

Pelosi Urged to Condemn Open-Air SF Sex Fair

Leaders from three pro-family groups Wednesday called on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) to denounce the Folsom Street Fair - which is called "the world's largest leather event" and is held each September in San Francisco - as a "grotesque affair" that violates laws prohibiting public nudity and child abuse.

"Because you frequently extol San Francisco's values to the rest of America, we are compelled to call your attention to what actually takes place" at the event, wrote Peter LaBarbera, president of Americans for Truth, in a letter he hand-delivered to Pelosi's office on Capitol Hill.

"I was in San Francisco with a videographer on Sunday, September 30, and verified but a small segment of the most immoral and outrageous sexual behavior that ever disgraced the streets of any American city," continued LaBarbera, whose group describes itself as "devoted exclusively to exposing and countering the homosexual activist agenda."

To support his perspective on the matter, LaBarbera released a six-minute DVD entitled "Tolerance Gone Wild in San Francisco" to members of the press during a news conference at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday.

The disc contained a number of sex-related visuals, including:

• Large numbers of men walking on public streets either fully or partially naked;
• Groups of men engaging in sex acts on the street as crowds walked by and snapped pictures and police officers merely watched;
• Theatrical sadomasochistic whippings and floggings - drawing blood and turning the willing "victim's" skin bright red;
• Flaunting of female nudity and real or simulated sexual acts;
• "Master-slave relationships" in which a man or woman "walked" a subservient "slave" with a collar and chain;
• Anti-Christian imagery in the form of the "Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence" - men dressed in drag mocking Catholic nuns - greeting incoming attendees at Folsom; and
• Young children with their parents witnessing the street scene.


Now it is tempting to write this off as an anomaly – an isolated manifestation of the fringe element – not truly representative of the gay ‘rights’ movement as a whole. However:


• Fringe elements don’t get letters from the mayor warmly telling them to ‘Have a great day and enjoy their wonderful and exciting event.”
• Fringe elements don’t have the pull to suspend laws for the day and force police to 'look the other way.'
  
• Fringe elements don’t get large corporate sponsors like Miller beer and tax dollars from the city of San Francisco to underwrite their events.
• Fringe elements don’t get to embarrass Speaker of the House by holding events like this in her district without a lot of political muscle…

It is clear that the supporters of this debacle have, not only descended into depravity, abandoning whatever moral judgement they may have once possessed, but they also have a frightening amount of political power.

Catholic League delivering photographs to 211 parishes, more mailings planned

Graphic photographs of nearly nude homosexuals strutting the streets of San Francisco under the sponsorship banner of Miller Brewing Co. are being made available to tens of thousands of Catholics in Milwaukee, the beer company's hometown.

The Catholic League said it is sending the photographs, many of them also posted online under a parental warning about graphic content, to apply pressure to the brewery to halt its sponsorship of such events.

Last weekend's Folsom Street Fair featured blatant displays of public nudity and sex, as well as performances by the anti-Catholic group Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence.

It broke into the headlines this year with its promotional image mocking the Last Supper scene of Jesus Christ and his disciples, replacing the biblical leaders with leather-adorned men and the bread and wine with sex toys.

The Catholic League had called a boycott of the Miller Brewing Co. after the beer giant failed to have its logo removed from the event.

Catholic League President Bill Donohue has said he'd like Miller to rescind its sponsorship completely.

But officials say the brewer has declined, and so this distribution of photographs will allow leaders, residents and workers in the company's hometown see the results of the company's sponsorship.

Public Sex in the Streets of San Francisco

Policemen instructed not to interfere as people engage in oral sex, masturbation, and sado-masochism in the streets of Democratic Party Chairman Nancy Pelosi's district.

Peter LaBarbera and Allyson Smith of Americans for Truth traveled to San Franciso to chronicle the Folsom Street Fair last Sunday. What they saw happening in the streets of San Franciso in broad daylight, in full view of patrolling policemen and even children (see photo above) was beyond shocking...

Peter has received some criticism from fellow Christians for displaying the photos on his website -- but if people should not see them, then surely these activities should not take place. Years ago, a woman wrote a letter to the Trib upset because her young children had seen a pro-life poster that showed an aborted fetus. She called the photos "shameful." A friend responded that the photos were repugnant: the procedure that makes them possible is shameful.

Similarly, the photos on AFT are repugnant, while the Folsom spectacle that made them possible is shameful. If we have greater outrage at the exposure of this public travesty than we do at the public travesty itself there is something seriously wrong with US.

The photos are disgusting and some should not view them (e.g. children, adolescents, men who struggle with same-sex attraction) Please do not view these photos if you should not. Most of us do not fall into the ‘should not’ category…

Photos can generate a righteous anger that mere verbal descriptions do not. And we desperately need such anger.

DaVinci Code, Move Over!

It looks like a pagan worship scene from a Cecile B. DeMille rip-off featuring half-clad homosexual sadomasochists with animal masks and sex toys.

Trouble is it isn't a scene intended to expose debauchery, but to celebrate it. Da Vinci Code, move over! You've been replaced by a new version of "Last Supper mockery" in honor of the "world's largest leather event," the Folsom Street Fair in San Francisco.

Amidst black leather, tattoos and feather boas, homosexuals pose as apostles who in the original painting are depicted gathered at a table with their sweet savior to partake of the last meal together.

DaVinci's famous painting features the bread, a symbol of Christ's body "broken for you" as Jesus said, and the wine representing his blood, soon to be given in sacrifice for the sins of His disciples as well as for all mankind.

But on this table, rather than the symbols of that great act of a great Savior, rests sex toys—symbols for the object of their worship: the god of sex and unlicensed physical pleasure. These are perfect symbols, actually, because sex drives, motivates, consumes and demands homage in this radical community more than any other thing. It defines their lives, gives them their names, establishes their relationships, maps out their days, determines their holidays and dominates their nights.

Miller Brewing Sponsors Homosexual-sado-masochistic Festival

Miller Brewing Co. distances itself from blasphemous "Last Supper" promotional poster but pledges to continue funding Folsom Street Fair.

Miller Brewing Company has decided to pull its logo from a "Last Supper" poster-featuring homosexuals and sex toys-advertising the Folsom Street Fair in San Francisco, Calif. But a Catholic group is urging the company to cut all ties with the homosexual "leather" street fair.

The Catholic League for Religious Civil Rights issued a press release Wednesday, expressing outrage that Miller Brewing Co. is still supporting the event despite the fact that a portion of the money raised by the homosexual-sado-masochistic festival will go to the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, an anti-Catholic group that is planning a fundraiser entitled, "The Last Supper With the Sisters."

"There is no better way to prepare your mortal flesh for the kinkiest weekend on Earth than to nourish your bones and boost your spirit with a divine feast," the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence said on its Web site.

"Indulge your senses and confess your indulgences with The Sisters as if it were your last meal. No gastric craving will go unsatisfied, no bag of silver will go unspent and no sin will go unforgiven. ... Don't be a Judas! Come, eat, drink and be Mary! Be sure to mention The Last Supper With The Sisters when you make your reservation ..." the Web site says.

I continue to be astounded at the eagerness with which corporate America is embracing obvious depravity. It is an amazing thing.

Why are the police, and mayor even allowing public nudity, public sex, public urination, at Folsom Street Fair? Isn't this illegal? Would that we had more courageous men like Mayor Ray Naugle in Ft. Lauderdale taking a stand against public indecency instead of promoting it...
