War on Women—Mich. Fitness Club Favors Transgender

Anti-feminist Planet Fitness gym in Midland, Michigan boots REAL woman with XX chromosome in favor of pretend "woman" with XY chromosome (complete with penis) . . .

The REAL woman complained that men are allowed in the women's locker room, and refused to stop "spreading the word" to other women, so the club canceled her membership.

"I was blocked, because a man was standing there. It freaked me out because, why is a man in here?"

Cormier said an employee at the front desk told her that the individual identifies as a woman.

After taking her complaints to Planet Fitness' corporate office, Cormier said she was told that the gym was a "no judgement zone" and they would not tell the individual in question to stay out of the women's locker room. The person has not been identified.

The slogan "Judgement Free Zone" is regularly used by Planet Fitness.

A statement released by McCall Gosselin, public relations director for Planet Fitness, states that members can use the locker room corresponding with their personal gender identity.

From "Planet Fitness kicks out member for complaints against transgender woman" by Alex Ceneviva, WTNH-TV8 (New Haven, CT) 3/8/15 reports that a Midland woman was told she wasn’t welcome at the Planet Fitness gym after she refused to stop telling fellow members that a man was using the woman’s locker room.

Planet Fitness released a statement of the issue saying:
“Planet Fitness is committed to creating a non-intimidating, welcoming environment for our members. Our gender identity non-discrimination policy states that members and guests may use all gym facilities based on their sincere self-reported gender identity. The manner in which this member expressed her concerns about the policy exhibited behavior that management at the Midland club deemed inappropriate and disruptive to other members, which is a violation of the membership agreement and as a result her membership was cancelled.”

Cormier stands by her actions in a case that has drawn attention to transgender rights.

“This is all new to me. I didn’t go out to specifically bash a transgender person that day. I was taken aback by the situation,” Cormier told CNN. “This is about me and how I felt unsafe. I should feel safe in there.”

The mother of two says she was acting out of concern for her safety and the privacy of other female gym members when she raised the issue on Saturday, February 28.

“If you have male parts you don’t need to be in the women’s locker room. I don’t care what you are; I don’t care if you’re gay lesbian, transgender or transvestite. I am uncomfortable with you as a male in my locker room, in my restroom.”

Yvette Cornier, 48, said she saw someone “dressed like a man” after walking into the Midland Planet Fitness locker room last Saturday.

This individual had on a wig and “a little bit of blush,” but was “huge” and appeared “very manly,” Cornier told ABC News.

Cornier has been a Planet Fitness member for two months and felt the need to inquire on what she has seen. The man at the desk told her that Planet Fitness policy is “whatever gender you feel you are, that’s the locker room you’re allowed to go in,” she said.

“And then he said, ‘We’ve had lots of complaints about him but we told him to go change in a stall,’” Cormier said.

From "Planet Fitness Welcomes Men in Women’s Locker Room But Not Women Who Object" by Laurie Higgins, Illinois Family Institute 3/9/15

How, pray tell, do club managers verify the “sincerity” of a male member’s or guest’s claim that he wishes to be a woman? And why does sincerity of desire about one’s sex trump the objective state of one’s sex?

How will gym staff know with certainty that a male member or guest is not suffering from a disorder different from gender dysphoria? Perhaps instead of gender dysphoria, the member or guest is suffering from the paraphilia of voyeurism or exhibitionism. Come to think of it, why should Planet Fitness privilege gender dysphoria over other sexuality-related disorders?

How very judgmental and unwelcoming of Planet Fitness to prohibit those who identify as exhibitionists and voyeurs from accessing women’s locker rooms. If gender-confused men are permitted to be in the presence of naked women, why shouldn’t voyeurs be permitted to be in the presence of naked women?

Why shouldn’t exhibitionists be permitted to expose themselves to women? If women are forced to see the exposed members of gender-confused members, why shouldn’t they be compelled to see the exposed members of those who experience unwanted, unchosen exhibitionist desires?

And why can’t those who experience apodysophilia exercise in the nude or “diaper fetishists” parade around in Pampers?

Many people are rightly concerned about the possibility that men who don’t suffer from gender-confusion will exploit this inanity in order to access women’s private facilities with permission and peep with impunity. Others worry about assaults by both genuinely gender-confused men or wicked men who have the appearance of sincerely gender-confused men.

It should be noted that girls as young as 13 can join Planet Fitness and enjoy their “no judgment zones.”
