Massachusetts Legislature Denies Citizens Right to Vote on Marriage

Pro-family legislators turn out to be portraits in cowardice...

Today, the Massachusetts legislature blocked a marriage protection amendment from a vote of the people, ignoring the petitions of over 170,000 Massachusetts voters. Family Research Council President Tony Perkins released the following statement:

"The 170,000 citizens in Massachusetts who signed petitions calling for a vote on marriage have been spurned by their legislators who faced unrelenting pressure from Governor Patrick, and national politicians such as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
