Senators in Springfield vote 35 to 23 to use tax dollars to fund human embryonic stem cell research and cloning. Thirty votes were needed to pass this this bill. It now moves on to the House for further debate.

Private funding has dried up for embryonic stem cell research because over the last two decades of research NO viable treatments have been developed. It is both immoral and a waste of money.
