After former president Jimmy Carter, in a recent interview, suggested that America will soon have a homosexual elected as president, homosexual advocates suggest that past president(s) may have been closeted homosexuals.

We have an African-American president, who defeated the woman who could have been the first female president.
"I don't know about the next election, but I think in the near future," Carter told the website Big Think, broadcast on CNN.
Carter said the nation is acclimated to the idea of President Obama, or a President Hillary Rodham Clinton. He wouldn't be surprised to see similar feelings about a gay president.

Carter, the 39th POTUS, said the country has made "tremendous strides in dealing with the issue of gays," comparing the "issue of homosexuality" to the "race issue 50 years ago."
America has already elected an African-American president, which would have been inconceivable not too long ago. That being the case, is it truly logical that a gay or lesbian commander-in-chief can't be far behind?
