A nationwide campaign to defend Biblical marriage, including Christian leaders Pastor Ken Hutcherson, Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council and James Dobson, will prepare America for the coming Supreme Court battle over the 1996 Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA).

[They] predict that there are only 18 to 24 more months before the Defense of Marriage Act, which defines marriage at the federal level as between one man and one woman, will be challenged in the Supreme Court.
But the evangelical leaders agreed in distress that churches and evangelical Christians are currently woefully unprepared to defend traditional marriage.
. . . Gary Bauer . . . said, "What really disturbs me is that some Christians are buying into this argument, 'Well, I'm not in favor of same-sex marriage, but so what if we have it. It doesn't affect my marriage. It doesn't affect my family.'"
". . . if the court looks around America and the only people they see speaking up and making demands is the radical gay rights movement and a handful of left wing politicians along with media personalities, they may very well rule 5 to 4 to strike down the Defense of Marriage Act," he warned.

Kenneth L. Hutcherson, senior pastor and co-founder of Antioch Bible Church in Kirkland, Wash., told WND that while rebellious Old Testament people posed a threat to build a tower to heaven, right now Christian people, working together, have the chance to restore marriage, defined as one man and one woman, to the nation. His comments came in an interview where he said it's not surprising that the secular world would try to redefine marriage to include same-sex duos.
But what bothered him was the lack of a defense by Christians of the definition of a family that predates the U.S. law, the U.S. Constitution and even the Founding Fathers by a few thousand years.
"There's nothing we cannot accomplish if we stick together with the power of God," he told WND. "This is going to be a powerhouse that's going to shake up a lot, starting with marriage."
"It's time for the church to wake up and get serious," he said.
It's time, Hutcherson said, for Christians to stand up and say, "Enough is enough."
